Roxy’s POV

“Welcome to Florida!” I say as we get off the plane.

“Already hot” Ev says

“Hush, you are in an air conditioned building! Just wait until we are out in the beach”

“Going to die” he says dramatically

“You are such a drama queen” I say as we make our way to luggage.

“Rox!” I hear from behind me and spin around to see my parents. “Hi baby” my mom says and gives me a hug.

“Hi mom” I say and I see my dad shake hands with Ev. “Hi dad” I say as I give him a hug too.

“Hi sweetheart, how was the flight?” he asks

“It was good” I say as the bag corral signals the luggage is here. After getting out suitcases we are in the car and on the way to my childhood home.

“Were here” my mom says as we pull in the driveway.

“It’s not much, but its home” I say after we get out.

“I love it” Ev says and squeezes the hand that is on my shoulder. “Tour?”

“Sure” I say and drag him inside with our suitcases. “This is the living room, then we have the kitchen over there, my mom and dad’s room over here; then up stairs is mine and Sarah’s rooms and an office. That is pretty much it” I say and make my way upstairs to my old room.

“Feel like home” Ev says as we enter my room. It looks pretty much the same since I left almost a year ago.

“So much has happened in the year I have been gone” I say as I look around.

“Best year of my life” Ev says and pulls me into his arms and gives me a kiss.

“Mine too” I say with a smile. “Come on, I am going to take you to my favorite place growing up for dinner” I say and drag him back down stairs. “Hey, I am taking Ev to Joe’s. Do you want to come?” I ask my parents.

“No we are going to stay in tonight. Here are the keys, have fun” My dad says tossing me the keys.

On the way there I point out things around town and tell old stories. By the time we get to Joe’s we are both laughing.

“Just two” I say to the girl behind the counter. She leads us to a booth in the back and tells us our server will be with us in a minute. “This place serves the best breakfast and you can get it anytime.” I say looking at the menu. “What are you getting?”

“What is good?” he asks looking over the menu.

“Everything but I think you will like the country fried steak” I say pointing out to him. “I’m getting the crab cakes”

“Okay, I get that” he says and our waitress comes over to take our orders. We send our meal talking about our childhoods and me telling stories of growing up here.

“Roxanne?” I hear and I look up to see a girl I went to high school with. “I thought that was you!” she says and I think her name was Amanda.

“How have you been?” I ask

“Great, married with a kid” she says and flashes her ring at me.

“That’s great” I say

“Oh I am being so rude, hi I’m Amanda you are?” she says holding her hand out for Ev.

“Evgeni” he says and shakes her hand.

“My boyfriend” I say “Well we are about to be done, it was nice seeing you” I say and start gathering my purse.

“It was great seeing you too, bye” she says and walks off.

“I haven’t talked to her in years, that was so awkward sorry” I say to him and he just shrugs. “Now everyone in town is going to know I am home and brought you here with me”

“Problem?”

“Nope, just an inconvenience” I say as we go to the counter to pay. By the time we get into the car m phone is already vibrating. It’s Courtney so I open the text.

‘You’re in town?’ she writes

“Damn they are faster than usual” I say handing the phone to Ev. “Just a matter of time before Ryan hears”

“If he bothers you, we talk” Ev says in his mean voice.

“Let’s get home, I could use a drink” I say and drive us back home.

“Its beach day” I say to Ev to wake him up. “Get up sleepy head” I say and shake his shoulder.

“No, I warm” he says and snuggles under the covers.

“Oh what a shame; I guess you don’t get to see me in my new bikini then” I say with a smirk.

“I’m up” he says and practically jumps out of bed.

“That’s what I thought” I say walking out of the room and to the bathroom to get ready.

“Can you put lotion on my back?” I ask Ev after we pick our spot and get situated.

“Of course” he says taking the lotion from me and rubbing it into my back. “When Sid and Sarah get here?” he asks

“No for another week. That is all she could get off right now” I say

“Ok, all done” he says

“Turn over so I can do yours” I say and push him on his stomach. “I don’t want you to look like a lobster” I say as I rub in the sunscreen. After applying sunscreen I lay back on my towel with my sunglasses on.

“You look so sexy” I hear from my left and look over to see him staring at me. “So much skin” he says and touches my thigh.

“You have seen more” I say and he runs his hand along the length of my body. “Now hush, I am trying to tan. You can stare in silence” I tell him with a smile.

“How bout we get hotel for second week?”

“What?”

“I want you to myself for week, romantic” he says with a smile.

“That sounds really good” I say with a smile. “I have always wanted to stay out here but have never had a reason”

“Then I get best room for us” he says sounding proud of himself.

“You are so cute” I say lying back down.

“No more” Ev says pushing his plate away. “So good but so full”

“That’s fine dear” my mom says and sets the pot of chicken and dumpling down.

“It’s a miracle that I am not 300 pounds” I say taking a drink of water. “This is the reason most of the south is overweight”

“Yeah but it so good” Ev says with a smile and rubbing his stomach.

I nod to him before turning back to my parents “So Ev wants to rent a condo for the last week we are here out on the island”

“That sounds like a great plan” mom says with a smile. “Just make sure we have dinner before you leave”

“Of course” I say with a smile

“This place is gorgeous” I say stepping through the doorway of our suite. I walk over to the sliding glass door and go out on to the balcony. “Oh my god, look at this view”

“Beautiful” Ev says wrapping his arms around me. “Can we have sex now?”

“You had to ruin the moment” I say going back inside “But to answer your question, yes!” I say as he closes the blinds.

“Finally” he says stripping out of his clothes.

“We need to be ready to go by 6 because we are meeting Sid and Sarah at the restaurant at 7” I say pulling my dress over my head.

“Ok deal” he says and pushes me down on the bed. I can tell he is going to be rough today and it makes me giddy.

“One rule, no marks that won’t be covered by my bikini” I say and he kisses up my body.

“Yes dear”

“Sorry we are late” I say sliding into the booth across from Sarah and Sid. “How was the flight?”

“Pretty good” Sarah says. “How has your week gone?”

“Great, can’t really go wrong spending it on the beach and now in a condo out on the island” I say with smile.

“Ooo, how romantic” she says.

“Are you guys staying with mom and dad or in a hotel?” I ask as we look over the menu.

“Mom and dad’s” Sarah says but something is off with her voice.

“Well maybe you should rent a condo for the weekend that you are here” I say casting a glance at Sid, he meets my gaze and I nod my head towards Sarah.

“Yeah that sounds like a great idea” Sid says and Sarah looks at him with a hopeful look in her eyes.

“Really?”

“Yeah let’s do it” he says and she kisses him on the cheek.

We are halfway through dinner when Sarah gets a call on her phone.

“Its mom” she says and answers it. “Hey mom, what’s up? Oh, that was tonight? I totally forgot…yeah we will be there as soon as possible” she says and hangs up. “I forgot that we made plans with mom and dad tonight, I promised we would be there and you know how mom gets” she says.

“No I get it, we will have to finish this another night” I say “Go see mom and dad” I say and shoo them away. Once they are gone I turn to Ev, “Do you want to finish this or go back to the condo?”

“Finish, work up hunger today” he says with a smirk. We spend the rest of dinner laughing over wine. We finally get back to the condo and I use the restroom before finding Ev out on the balcony.

“That warm breeze feels nice” I say leaning against the railing with my eyes closed. When I open my eyes something catches my attention in the sand. “Oh my gosh! Ev look someone put ‘Will You Marry Me?’ on the sand in lights down there.” I say and turn around to see him down on one knee and a black box in his hand.

“Oh my God” I say and put a hand in front of my mouth.
