Set It Off

Sugar, We're Going Down

"I don't care if we talk about absolutely nothing, I just want to talk to you." Josh says.

"Sap."

"Not."

"Sap." Hayley smirked. Just then the boys got out and joined them.

"What took you guys so long?" Josh asked.

"Quickie-" Jaime said but was interrupted by Zack hitting him in the abdomen.

"No homo bro, no homo." Zack laughed. "So, what were you two up to while we were gone?"

Everyone sat around the fire, grabbing each of their own sticks and mallows.

"Well," Hayley started. Hesitation was obvious if they were in day light.

"I've found out that Josh here was a full time stalker of mine." She dropped. Eyes were on her now, intent, curious.

"Way to go." Josh whispered.

"He's Josh, like Josh, Josh Alphonse. The one I've been.. You know."

"Depressed about. Yea. Now he's here like nothing happened. What now Josh?" Zack asked in the most annoying tone.

They were caught off guard by Zack's sudden outburst.

"Man, no, you don't understand. I-"

"Course I don't. You come along when everything's fine. Where were you when her walls came crashing down? Oh, that's right, you weren't around." Zack stood up, heading towards the house.

"Zack, sit down." Hayley called but was ignored. "Zack!"

He stopped his steps and looked back at the others.

"I need to cool down. I don't want to hurt anybody tonight." Then he was gone. They heard the engine roar as the sound slowly faded away. Hayley stood up and motioned to the house.

"I'm just gonna grab some beers." They all nodded as she went her way inside.

"I don't understand." Josh said.

Jaime and Pierre looked at each other as if debating who would talk first, then they looked back at Josh when they decided Pierre would.

"Zack's just proper pissed. Hayley means a lot to him. She arrived here looking and acting like a party animal. Zack was the one who stuck by her since, and he believes that he's a big part of the reason why Hayley's back, normal, you know. And then you come along-"

"Taking her from him that easy."

"Exactly."

Josh felt bad about everything. He's determined to fix things between him and Zack.

He pulled out his iPod and wore his earphones. He needed comforting, and music's all he got. It definitely didn't offer any solution for him right now, but it definitely offers a minute to escape.
