Ariel's Tree

I watched the two couples end their stories happily. After all the horrible things I had done in the past and the awful person I had become, I finally felt I had done something right. As I walked back to my cottage, I thought about Ariel. She had once said that when Trevor was a tree, he cast the shadow of a man on her wall. What she failed to understand was the shadow was displaying Trevor's true self. On the outside, he looked like a tree but he always was human on the inside.
