Love and Other Lies

We are boarding for our trip to New York. I'm excited, it kind of feels like I get to know Dimitri better. I get to learn who he is and where he grew up. For some reason he is acting a bit weird, he said he doesn't want to stay at his dad's house, he just wants to drop me off to shop while he grabs his things and then he'll meet back up with me. I don't know if I should be worried or not, but maybe he just doesn't want me to see where he used to live, from the way he was talking it wasn't that nice.

"Are you ready babe?" He asked grabbing my hand.

"I'm ready for anything with you" I smiled, earning me a kiss. We went to the counter and the lady checked all of our paperwork. It took us almost an hour to get through security, but I guess it's necessary, at least there won't be a terrorist on my plane. After what seemed like forever we boarded the plane.

"I'm kind of scared" I said grabbing his hand. He smirked over at me.

"Never flown before?" He asked comfortably.

"Nope." I said giving him a squeeze of the hand, a bit harder than I thought.

"It's ok, i'm here babe." He smiled as a flight attendant showed us what to do if we crashed.

"Please fasten your seat belts, the plane is about to take off" A man's voice said overhead. I scrambled to get my seat belt on, Dimitri just chuckled.

"You are ok" He soothed, the plane started moving and I squeezed my eyes shut, I felt a hand grab my chin and lips, soon I was lost in the kiss, I forgot where I was and then he broke it off smiling at me. "Told ya" He said unfastening the seat belt.

"we are already up?" I asked surprised.

"Yes. You just needed a distraction" He winked.

"You are great at that" I smiled kissing him again.

"Dimitri?!?" A squeak sounded, we broke our kiss and I saw a very excited flight attendant.

"Yea" Dimitri said, turning to face her he froze.

"oh my god! I can't believe it's you!" She said grabbing his face and kissing him. I got outraged!

"Get your fucking hands off of my fiance!" I yelled. She dropped him and he just sat there shocked.

"I am so sorry... I just.." She tried.

"I suggest you get the fuck away from me and my fiance. now." I said past angry.

"I'm so sorry" She said scurrying away, I just stared at Dimitri expecting a story. He didn't even look at me. The rest of the flight was quiet and when we landed I went straight to the bags.

"Anna. I.. what happened back there... She didn't know..." He said.

"I don't care" I snapped. I didn't mean to, it just kind of happened. Of course I cared.

"I'm sorry beautiful" He said, going for a kiss, I turned my face so he got my cheek.

"Let's go" I said hauling my bags over to the taxis. I got one and put my bags in the trunk, so did Dimitri, not that I cared.

"Where to pretty lady." He asked when Dimitri slid in. I decided to flirt.

"Oh, you're talking about me? How sweet" I smiled flirtatiously.

"Well, you are prettier than him" He winked into the mirror.

"You are just the sweetest. Uh, we are going to the Sun Bright Hotel, on Hester Street" I smiled.

"good hotel.. been there a few times" He replied, pulling out into traffic.

"I bet you have, If I tell them you sent me will they give me a discount" I winked.

"ehh it's worth a try" He smiled. I could tell all of this was annoying Dimitri. "So, what brought you two to the Big Apple?" He asked

"He has to get his stuff from his old house, i'm just along for the ride." I smiled. Dimitri just looked out the window.

"You two related?" He asked.

"Engaged" Dimitri said, almost threatening.

"AH, love birds" He cooed.

"Normally" I muttered.

"No happiness in paradise?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"It was find till our flight" I said pointedly.

"That wasn't my fault" Dimitri defended.

"She kissed you, full out make-out, tongue, fucking herpes I bet! and what did you do? nothing! absolutely nothing!" I yelled.

"What was I supposed to do? It surprised me to see her too." He said almost yelling back.

"Push her skank ass away" I said exasperated. The cab driver just looked back at us with an amused look on his face. I didn't notice the car wasn't moving.

"We are here" He said after it got silent.

"Thanks." I said handing him a twenty. "Keep the change" I smiled. He stopped me before I got out.

"If you need a ride, call me. My names on the card, so you know who to ask for... and try to get discounts" He winked.

"Thank you." I smiled slipping his card into my pocket, Dimitri already had our bags out and was taking them inside. The building wasn't to bad.... not five stars.. but not horrible. Here we go. New York is already turning out to be bad... even before we got here.
