Chapter 04;

POV: Xavier Evans // Sept 2

I ran to the locker room and hurriedly put on my original clothes. I had a grin plastered on my face, obviously happy about how the days' events turned out. In the middle of my reminiscing, I remembered my promise to Elliot, about showing him the club.

I looked for him around the locker room, but there was no one else there. I rushed out into the hallway and saw him heading towards the front entrance of the school, probably to his dad.

"Elliot! Wait up!" I ran to catch up with him.

We walked in step, reached the doors and stepped outside. He turned around, looking at something and then suddenly grabbed my wrist and moved us to stand under a tree, pretty forcefully might I add. “What do you need? Why didn't you try and talk to me before class ended?” he asked, peeking around the tree.

I looked down at his hands on me, not minding the position one bit. It felt…nice. "Damn, I know you want me, but, could you at least wait 'till we're alone?" I smirked. "And I was changing. I know you would, but I don't think others would appreciate me running around in my birthday suit.” I laughed at his expression, and then noticed his eyes wandering. “What are you looking at?" I asked, as Elliot continuously looked around the tree. "And, oh yeah! I wanted to ask you if you still wanted to know where history club was."

He looked at me confused, and then bit his lip. Damn, it was hot when he did that. “Jeez, I don't want to fuck you.” he mumbled, keeping his eyes on the concrete. I felt a shudder go through me as the dirty word passed through Elliot’s lips. “And yeah, I do want to know where it is still...” he added, smiling. It made me smile a bit, knowing I didn’t just cause a frown on his face; I could actually make him smile.

"All right, let's go then!" I ushered.

Before we left, I realized Elliot didn't answer my question about who he was staring at, so I moved around the tree and had a look for myself. There stood a man, he saw us and shot a questioning look towards Elliot, then one at me.

Elliot just stared blankly at the mysterious man and gritted his teeth. “Why did you... I...” He groaned. I was confused, what was he so mad about? He took his time going over there, eyes staying locked on the ground after shooting me a glare. Okay then.

"Why are you staring at me like I’m Ronald Reagan?" I asked before we approached the man; he was dressed casual, just a button down shirt and some slightly baggy jeans. He had green eyes that matched Elliot’s, but his hair was a light brown. He didn’t really look that old, probably his late 30's early 40’s.

“What are you doing? Playing hide 'n seek?” The man laughed, then shifting to look at me. “You made a friend already?” he asked Elliot.

“It's nothing... He's just showing me to the history club. So I don't need to be picked up for an hour. Okay?” Elliot replied.

He gave him a look. “You need to make friends.”

Listening to the conversation, I then realized this was Elliot's father! Well obviously, if the eyes didn’t tell me then the way Elliot was acting should’ve. Oh, I was going to have fun.

"Xavier Evans, sir," I said, outstretching my arm, "Your son's best friend. Just to let you know, Elliot and I had an amazing day today. I really enjoy his company.” I added, a wicked smile on my face.

I looked to see Elliot's face contorted to one of silent frustration, I snickered quietly.

His dad grinned. “Well, take care of him for me. I know he's kind of slow with social interactions, but he'll be okay once he has a bit of practice.” he looked at Elliot, laughing a bit. “I'll be back in an hour then. Don't kill your only friend, alright?” He waved, getting in his car and pulling away from the curb.

Elliot stood there, and then looked at me, “Really? Did you really just do that?” he exhaled, turning around and walking back to the building; I followed him. “I can't believe this... And if I was to compare you to a president, I'd pick Nixon!” He said, stomping away from me.

I don’t know why he was so mad. If he would’ve known what other things I was planning in my head, he’d be thanking me right now. "What? He's going to be my father in-law someday anyways, might as well get a head start." I shrugged, "And Reagan, Nixon, what's the difference?"

“I told you to give up on dating me! And haven't you ever heard of Watergate?” He asked, throwing his arms up.

"You mean Waterworks? I love that water park!" I said enthusiastically. I remembered when my friends and I used to go there all the time.

“It's Watergate. A scandal that almost got him impeached! Not a water park. My dad isn't going to leave me alone about it now...” he sighed heavily. “It's your fault!” he turned around abruptly, putting his index finger on my forehead. “Don't try to date me. I don't see a point in the mess. According to TV, it only ever causes drama anyway.” He kept his eyes on mine, his face serious.

I moved my eyes up to look at Elliot's finger in interest. "Elliot, baby, the TV LIES! Remember what SpongeBob did to me? Don't believe the bullshit!" I said with all seriousness, having no idea how insane I must’ve looked.
“Don't call me that!” He ordered, dropping his hand but didn't move. He crossed his arms, eyes fixed on me, “Do. Not. Try. To. Date. Me. Do. You. Un-der-stand?”

"No comprende" I replied nonchalantly. I understood, but I wouldn’t oblige. "Now let's go! From what your dad said, you need to be more social, now let's get you to that club!" I exclaimed, practically skipping down the hall. Surprisingly, I received few strange looks from people. I shrugged; they were probably used to it.

“あなたはばかですね。。。” I heard Elliot mutter.

Did he just… speak Japanese? "You speak Japanese? Damn boy.” It was quite the turn on actually.

“I can't believe you. What is it about me that won't make you give up? Or are you just trying to tease me and all? I don't like it. And don't play stupid. I know you understand the word 'no.'” he sighed heavily.

“Why do you think I’m just teasing you? I like you. You're smart enough to know that. Unless you're not smart enough, and have been fucking with me the whole time, but you would need to be smart to accomplish that though…" Once again, I was hopelessly confused. I dropped it, my mind starting to ache. "Come on, we still have a while to go. It's on the other side of the school"

“You don't know me, though. And while we're on the way there, think you could help me find locker 1004? I haven't found it at all...” he sighed heavily, “And can you please back off? About dating... You don't even know me...”

I was having fun, too much even. "Aw, someone needs a hug!" I said and engulfed Elliot in my arms. To say I liked it was an understatement. I wanted to live in this hug. Elliot was so soft and cuddly... But then the numbers he had just said sounded very familiar. It finally registered in my mind and I pulled back slightly. "Wait! What was your locker number?"

“1004.” he repeated, looking up at me. “Why are you suddenly hugging me?” He stood there a moment, and then attempted to shove me away.

I laughed at Elliot's helpless attempt to shove me off of him, but I eventually let go because the boy was struggling so much. "Hmn, I think that's the locker right next to Andrew's and Lydia's." I feared for him, really. He thinks I’m bad! Poor, poor boy.

“Oh great,” He rolled his eyes. “Could you please refrain from hugging me in the future?” he straightened his shirt a bit, and then looked over at me.

"Not likely" I replied smiling, I liked it too much. "And you'll like Lydia. Just get to know her. But watch out..." I said, getting eye level with Elliot, staring once again at his beautiful green orbs, "Andrew's fucking crazy.” I said, meaning every word; He would eat him alive.

“You're staying at least two feet away from me at all times.” He muttered, staring at me dully, and then took a few steps back. He looked at me cautiously, like I was danger or something.

I pouted and turned around swiftly, continuing to walk. "Fine, I was only trying to help you. But don't come to me when you want to file for rape."

I glanced back around to see him staring at me, “You're not serious...” he laughed a bit, then smiled. “But thank you for actually listening for once.”

I smiled also; Elliot was just so contagious. And it was the second time I’ve made him smile today, I’m on a roll.

We walked a few more steps, then I stopped; seeing as we finally arrived at our destination. "We're here!" I announced, opening the door. All eyes lifted, staring at us with their own curiosity as we walked in.

"I have something for you guys!" I exclaimed, pulling Elliot in front of me. "He even knows the difference between Nixon and Reagan!" That should mean something, especially how he freaked out about it earlier.

Elliot looked back at me, bright red; looking all cute when he was embarrassed. I wouldn’t see why though, I was just giving him a grand entrance.

“Hello, Xavier...” Ryan looked at me, and then shifted his brown eyes to Elliot, smiling.

I didn’t like that, at all. Ryan was a conniving little… With his stupid Mohawk thing he had plastered on his head, and his stupid fucking Xbox headset he wears every moment of the day. It was strange, he was a genius too! How the hell could he be so smart with all that idiot? Whatever, he wouldn’t try anything. He did like Andrew quite a lot, which I didn’t enjoy as much.

“And I’m surprised Xavier even knows someone who knows the difference between Reagan and Nixon.” his smiled morphed into a grin, as his gaze landed back on me.

I refrained from glaring, rolling my eyes instead. “I’m surprised you’re not getting fucked in the ass right now…” I mumbled quietly. Thankfully, he didn’t hear me.

“Hey, just leave him alone, Ryan.” Ethan shoved him lightly, a little bit of his brown hair getting in his face. And once again, Ethan saves the day. Lucky he did, I didn’t know how long I could refrain from smashing Ryan’s head in.

“It's nice to meet you, I’m Ethan. I run this club.” He was telling Elliot. He pointed to Ryan. “This is Ryan, he's the idiot. And then we also have Matthew, Garid, and Kelsey.” He finished.
I laughed at his brief description of Ryan; couldn’t have said it better myself.

Elliot waved shyly. “I'm Elliot.” I smiled at his shyness, his level of cute escalating to a higher level.

“So seriously, how the heck do you know anyone smart?” Ryan teased.

"I think it has something to do with him wanting me. I don't think you guys no how badly he wants me..." I stopped when I caught a glimpse of Elliot's glare from hell. I laughed slightly, deciding he’s had enough taunting for today; also, I couldn’t stand Ryan’s presence. I only even answered his question because it involved Elliot.

"Well, it's been fun! I gotta go watch Lizzie McGuire, see you guys later!" before I left, I leaned into Elliot, saying softly in his ear, "And I’ll see you tomorrow." accompanied with a wink. I dashed out of there, getting my cell phone out and sent a quick text to my mom; telling her to come pick me up, seeing as I missed the bus. The day’s events played out through my head, and I grinned. Elliot was just so amazing.
