Be Like You

Why not

The flat seemed empty for the last leg of the tour, I wasn’t joining the boys. My classes started and I only had two semesters left until I could graduate and I wanted to be done now rather than later.

“And you’re sure you don’t mind staying here with me?”I asked
Meagan as I helped her unpack her suitcase in my old room, which Harry and I had converted into a guest room.

“Don’t worry about it, you need someone to watch James while you’re at classes and while I’m here I can get you started on your second album.” She assured me with a smile, looking over at James who was sitting up on by himself, on the bed watching us.

Picking James up, I led him into my bedroom and sitting him in my lap as the laptop started running, Harry’s face showing up on the screen right away when I accepted his video call.

“Da” James giggled looking at the screen, Harry grinning and waving at him.

“How are you buddy? Taking care of mummy for me?” Harry asked softly.

James let out a few sounds to which he thought were words that Harry could understand, Harry only grinning even wider, “Does he miss me much?”

I nodded, “He got into your stuff earlier, playing around with your jackets and shirts.”

“Are you sure you won’t come down? It’s only a bit left, and that way I won’t be away from you two” he whined.

“You know I would if I could, but classes start soon and James can’t live on a bus that long.”

Harry frowned, “We could get us three a bus, then we’d have even more room”

“Harry” I chuckled, “We discussed this when we were on tour with you. It’s just not the right moment for us to go with you. But you get back before his birthday and that’s all that matters”

“I’m missing and entire month of being with him”

“I know how you feel, I get like that when you insist we go out to dinner without him. But cheer up, you get to see your fans and that’s what makes it all worth it.”

He shook his head, “I would leave this, I would leave it all if you ever asked me to.”

“Don’t talk crazy thoughts” I warned him, “What about the boys? You would just leave them? Ruin their careers for your own needs”

“At the end of the day, I worry about you and James. I don’t know how else to prove it to you.”

“Harry I know we come into your life first priority, don’t start saying these things where you’d leave the band. You’re just tired, that’s why your saying this. Go get some sleep” I offered while trying to pull James back into my lap.

“Marry me” he blurted out, my grip on James disappearing as I looked at him, “Marry me, fly down to Australia and we can have a quick ceremony.”

“Harry get some sleep, you must be exhausted” I sighed shaking my head.

“I’m serious” Harry insisted quickly, “I’m a hundred percent serious. I’ll even book your flight.”

“We’re only nineteen Harry, we can’t just go and get married.”

“There’s nothing stopping us, well I mean there’s the ocean but you can fly over here and we can get married.”

“We’ll talk about this in person” I told him, I wanted to end this conversation now, “I’ll call you later or something.”

Setting James down on the floor to let him crawl I headed back over to Meagan’s room, “The bloody bastard wants to elope.”

Meagan looked at me for the longest time not saying anything, “When are you flying over? Do I get to be in the wedding?”

“I said no” scowling at her I shook my head, “Why does everyone want us married so badly?”

She started laughing, laughing like a fool as she hunched over in laughter, “Why? Because the whole world can bloody see that you two are meant to be together, and when two people find that love, then why shouldn’t they get married?”

"he got to you too didn't he?" I scowled, "as my agent. What you say?"

"go get fucking married already" she grinned, "and as yor best friend, "I'd ask why you guys aren't married already."

I shook my head in disbeliefe, "I'm only nineteen. You don't think that's too young?"

"no!" she exclaimed, " you two have the best relationship and you guys are the perfect family. Might as well get married."

"think of this as your cold feet before a wedding" she added, " you love him. That should be your only reason"

Nodding I sighed picking up James who was crying to get picked up, "let's go Australia James"

The entire flight to Australia, Meagan made some calls about a client of hers filming a music video that required a white dress and the whole ordeal.

Leaving her to do that, I took James with me to the venue so Harry could see him.

Setting James down on the side of the stage I watched amused as he made his way over quickly to Harry who was lying on the stage floor.

"are you walking?" Harry asked excitedly as he picked him up, " where's mummy?"

"is your offer still open?" I asked softly.

"that depends, are you ready to become a styles?"

"I get to join the styles group? My life has been made complete" I laughed kissing him.

Harry constantly teased me how I was the only one who wasn't a Styles when it was just the three of us.

"tomorrow. Three o'clock. I'll be waiting" Harry murmured

"I'll be the one in white." I chuckled.

"and he'll have the rings" we laughed at James who was pulling on Harry's necklace.

"what made you change your mind?"

"I love you." I told him, "and that's all that matters we're two people who love each other. People who love each other deserve to be married."
