Unwonderland

One

It's been three years since the real Alice died. She was murdered by the Red Queen, taking a walk down the White River, on the boarder of the Red Forest. She was alone, not even her Bandersnatch came with her.

"Miss Alexias you mustn't be alone," Ancilla spoke. Alexias didn't answer, she reached down and scooped up some of the water. Her mother so loved the river.

"Ancilla," spoke Alexias softly. Her voice carried upon the wind.

"Yes, Miss?" Ancilla spoke after. Alexias didn't raise her eyes.

"What do you think my mother was doing, walking by herself, here, of all places?" she asked.

"The same as you, I suppose," Ancilla whispered. Alexias smiled, "You look just like her, Alice Kingsleigh."

Alexias knew this. Her hair was the same shade of blonde, the same wave of curls, that no matter how hard she tried, she could never get rid of. The difference between her and her mother was her eyes. Alexias had the eyes of her father. The Mad Hatter.

Her mother loved The Hatter, even more than the river. Her love for The Hatter kept her here, trapping Alexias here as well. She so wanted to know what the Real Realm looked like. Everytime she asked her mother to take her there, her mother would tell her, 'Alexias, Wonderland has many sights to see. The Real Realm is nothing close to this.'

Alexias never argued with her mother. She just sighed and went back to her drawings. The drawings of what she thought the Real Realm looked like. She didn't have much to go by. She doesn't do them anymore. Her mother's death had stopped her. She had to step up as champion for the White Queen, incase the Red Queen were to start another war.

Alexias stood up, "let's go, shall we?"

"We shall," nodded Ancilla, walking ahead of her. Alexias took notice of her bracelet. The bracelet of servants. She wasn't allowed to take it off for anything. All of the help around the castle wore them. She wore the traditional maid's outfit, long black dress, white frilly thingy on the front and a maid's hat rested right in front of her bun.

Her hair was dark, her frame petite and fragile. Even though she couldn't see her face, she knew what she looked like. Her eyes a golden yellow, her nose small, fitting in right between her high cheekbones. She always wore slight blush, giving her pale complexion and little color, her hands were boney and her voice was very light.

Ancilla has been her caretaker ever since Alice died, teaching her and loving her, like a mother should. The Hatter has also died. He couldn't take the despair of his wife's death, so leaving Alexias here in the plain alone, he took his own life. Within a short amount of weeks, Alexias was an orphan. The White Queen took her in, shoving Ancilla upon her to teach.

Alexias now at the striking age of thirteen, is now a woman. She has been betrothed to a man, his name was Charudatta. Of course, he was good looking but she liked them mad. She was her mother. This man had natural black hair, and his blue eyes shone like the deep sea. His smile was perfect and his body even better. She has tried to love him, but she just couldn't.

"Alexias you know better than to go out by yourself!" accused the White Queen.

"I'm sorry," she said softly, "I needed to see the river."

"It's alright," nodded the White Queen.

"And plus, I'm a skilled fighter I can take care of myself," explained Alexias. Before she could finish, the White Queen was already cutting in.

"And so was your mother but you see, it doesn't matter how skilled you are, if you go up against an army, you will lose every time," the White Queen spoke. Alexias hated it when she was right. Unwillingly, she nodded her consent. She knew there was no other way out, "you may go."

Slowly Alexias rose to her feet, and walked off toward her room. At the top of the stairs, Alexias encountered Bayard.

"Hello, Bayard," smiled Alexias.

"Hello, Miss Alexias" Bayard spoke back. Alexias pet him on the head, ruffling his ears. Bayard moaned into her hand, leaning his head closer. His fur was soft. She loved talking to Bayard, he was so much nicer than anyone else in the castle.

"Miss Alexias," another of the servants spoke her name. She looked up from her perch on the top step with Bayard, "Charudatta is here to see you."

"I'll be right down," she said. The servant bowed to her and left down the stairs. She bid Bayard good bye and sank down the steps.

Charudatta was at least a head taller than her, and he was about fifteen. She plastered a smile on her lips, looking into his eyes.

"Charudatta, I'm glad to see you," she spoke softly. She's been told she sounds like her mother too.

"Alexias," he said, his voice full of emotion. He loved her, she could tell. They embraced, he smelled like the Red Forest and the White River. They pulled away.

"You were at the river?" she asked.

"I was," he nodded, "It's a beautiful spot."

"It is," she answered, lost in her own thoughts. He never went there. He didn't like the outdoors. But Alexias didn't say anything. She just went along with him.
