Her family was broken. The silence around the house was loud enough to cause a ringing in Briella's ears but it seemed as if she was the only one who could hear it. Sometimes it drove her to drink, other times it drove her to smoke. It may not have been good for her body but it sure did take her mind off things. She dreamed of far away places where her smile would actually reach her eyes, where her problems could be solved with laughter, and where people who said that they loved each other actually loved each other.

The cheating fiasco with her parents had hardened Briella's heart; she didn't need love. All she needed was a blunt and a dream to get her through the day.
