Should Have Kissed You at the Park

Taylor POV

The club was hot tonight. The music was bumping hard in the speakers and the dance floor was packed. I sat up in the DJ booth with my brother, DJ JDub and swayed my hips to the music.

“Hey sis, can you get me a beer?” J asked, interrupting my groove.

“Yeah, what kind?”

“A Bud Light please”

“1 or 2 sweetie?” I asked before walking off

“2, and make sure you get a drink too!” he yelled over the music as I walked off.

I walked down the stairs out of the DJ booth making my way through the crowd and over to the end of the bar.

“Hey Tammy, can I get two Bud Lights for J and an Amaretto Sour for me” I asked the bartender. Tammy was my brother’s girlfriend and we were pretty close. Since me, J, and Tammy have ownership in the for J-Spot, the drinks are always on the house, all night long.

“Here you go hun” Tammy said sliding me a tray with 2 Bud Lights, and 2 Amaretto Sours on it.

“I only need one Sour”

“I know you Tay, you’ll need another one in like 5 minutes, so to keep you from having to come back down here through this crowd, and these skanks from getting to my man, I gave you an extra one” she smiled

“Girl, you know I’m not going to let some skanky azz girl take your place, hell, I just started liking you” I joked

“Whatever heffa” she laughed

“Thanks hun” I grabbed the tray and walked off.

When I finally made my way back up to the DJ booth, there were a few more people there than when I had left 10 minutes earlier

“Here, let me help you with that” a voice said reaching down to take the tray from me as I walked up the stairs.

“Thanks” I smiled at the nice looking guy

“Don’t mention it. You looked like you could use a hand”

“Yeah, where were you 2 minutes ago when I had to carry this through that crazy crowd down there” I laughed “ Thank you though” I continued taking the tray back from him.

“Oh thanks sis” J said as I walked over with our drinks.

“Sis? J this is your sister?”

“Yeah, Taylor this is Terrence; Terrence, this is my lil big sister Taylor” J introduced us.

“Lil Big Sister?” Terrence laughed confused

“Yeah, that’s what he says, I’m older than him by 2 years, but since I’m so short, he calls me his ‘lil big sister’” I laughed.

“Oh ok, well it’s nice to meet you Taylor” Terrence smiled

“Nice to meet you too”

“Can you excuse me for a minute, I’ll be right back” Terrence said walking past me with a smile.

J shot me a devilish grin, and before I could turn around I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist and a soft kiss on my neck, causing me to jump a little “Hey gorgeous” said a familiar voice in my ear causing me to blush a little

I turned around to see Chris standing behind me with a smile on his face. I tried not to blush, but couldn’t resist. He looked real sexy in some skinny jeans and a t-shirt. Chris and I were just friends because I thought he is a lil young for me, considering he’s my brother’s age, but lately we had been hanging out, texting and doing a lil flirting. J wasn’t too okay with it, because he’s just really protective of me, plus he thinks that Chris is too young for me. He hates when his homeboys wanna holla at me.

“Hey you” I said. “Don’t scare me like that” I laughed playfully hitting him

“My bad ma, I didn’t mean to, but you look sexy as hell tonight” he blushed.

“Thank you, you clean up pretty nice too”

“So you two know each other?” Terrence asked taking a step back, a confused look on his face

“Yeah, we met at a party that J was DJing a while back” Chris replied pulling me close to him by my waist

“Yeah, when I moved back here, I was staying with my brother for a lil while, so he would take me to the parties he DJed ” I smiled slightly pushing away from Chris.

“Yeah, she’s pretty cool” he smiled giving me a look with his eyes that read 'what was that all about?'

“Oh ok, cool. J just introduced us, I didn’t even know he had a sister that’s so pretty” Terrence smiled down at me.

“Man, don’t tell her that, she’s gonna start to get the big head” Chris nudged me.

“Yeah, I would hate to have a head as big as yours” I laughed back, causing Chris to make a silly face at me.

Terrence laughed as Chris and I teased each other. I could feel him checking me out, but I refuse to
look up at him, because he was causing me to blush almost harder than what Chris was already doing.

“Excuse me real quick, I’m gonna go get a drink, can I get ya’ll something? Terrence asked before
walking off.

“No thanks, I’m fine” I smiled

“Naw bro, I’m good”

“Ok, cool I’ll be right back” he said. “Hey Kae” Terrence said as he walked off.

“Hey Terrence. Hey babe” Kae said coming over hugging Chris.

The smile Chris had on his face turned from a playful one to a forced one. “Hey Kae” he said half heartedly

“Oh hi Taylor” Kae said with a fake smile while grabbing Chris’s hand.

“Kae” I half smiled. “Chris, I’ll see you around” I smiled at him before walking off.

“Ok Tay, see you later”

“Hey J, I’m going to go dance for a lil, I’ll be back in a few” I told my brother.

“Ok sis...hey be careful Tay”

“I’ll be okay J, I’m just going to dance, plus you can see me from up here. I thought I was the older sibling” I laughed

“You maybe the older one, but I’m still the man” he replied “Did you run Terrence off” he joked

“Whateva! Nooo, he said he was going to the bar” I laughed back.

“What’s up J?” Chris said coming over dabbing my brother up

“Man, I can’t call it Breezy, what’s the deal withchu?"

“I’m going to dance J” I said setting my drink down and walking off, giving Chris a dirty look

I made my way downstairs and to the middle of the dance floor so that my brother could see me.
I started to sway my hips to the music, when I felt an arm grab me by the waist.

“Hey babygirl” I heard another familiar voice say

I turned around to see Tyga standing there with a smile on his face. “Hey Ty” I said giving him
a big hug and a peck on the cheek. “You here with Chris?” I asked

“Naw, he’s here?”

“Yeah, he’s up in the DJ booth with J” I replied pointing up to the booth where J was
spinning and talking to Chris.

“Well, why are you down here by yourself then?” he laughed

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I smiled and playfully hit him.

“You know what I mean; ya’ll have been doing some heavy flirting for the past month or so,
and I can tell he’s feeling you too”

“Yeah, well, Kae just showed up, so I moved around. You know she’s not one of my favorite people.
How about you just dance with me and we not talk about him or her right now, this is my song”
I replied as Miguel’s Sure Thing came on and I turned back around to dance up against him. I wasn’t really attracted to Ty, but he was a really sweet guy and an awesome friend to my brother.

“Well, you know this is gonna make him jealous?” Tyga teased in my ear

“Shut up silly”

“I’m serious Tay, he's really feeling you. You know he’s not with Kae anymore right?” he asked

“No, and from the looks of it, neither does she”

“Naw, she knows she fucked up with Breezy, she was tryin to holla at Mijo on the sly. She’s just
tryin to get him back and she knows that he’s feeling you.” He replied.

“Yeah, well, it is what it is Ty”

Chris POV

“Damn Breezy, you okay, you not bleeding anywhere are you?” J laughed when Taylor walked off

“What you talking about man?”

“Man, I know my sister, and she just shot daggers at you dawg” he said "What happen?"

“Man, nothing, Kae showed up, that’s what happened”

“Dude, I thought you weren’t messing with that hoe no more?” he asked

“Man, I’m not, but she can’t seem to get the picture”

“Well, if you have any intentions on getting with my sister, you need to set Kae straight. I can’t have you playing over her” J said

“Man, I thought you didn’t want me hooking up with Tay?” I was a lil confused

“Bro, I know she’s feeling you, and you feeling her too. I know ya’ll been hanging out and shit.
Plus she’s grown, I can’t tell her who and who not to get with, I can just make sure that whoever
he is doesn’t hurt her any more than she already has been, you know?” he said

“Yeah, I feel you; I do have an older sister, so I know exactly how you feel. Man, I promise I would never intentionally hurt Taylor and would try my best to make sure that she doesn’t get hurt”

“Well, I’m glad to hear that, because if you do, I know where you live” he laughed. “Just
make sure you set Kae straight before you make a move on Tay, because if you don’t PLEASE believe Tay, definitely will put her in her place”

“Yeah, I know Tay has a temper, and I sure as hell don’t want her fighting. I don’t want her to
get that beautiful face all scratched up and shit. I’m gonna have to talk to Kae tonight. So what’s Terrence doing here?” I asked surprised to see him.

“C’mon dawg, that’s my sister, she ain’t that pretty” he laughed “Oh he hit me up earlier today
and asked what I was up to. He said he wanted to get out the house, so I told him to stop by and check out the newest hot spot in the A” he replied “Why, I thought ya’ll were cool”

“Yeah, we are cool, I was just wondering. He seemed a lil shocked when he found out that
me and Taylor knew each other, that’s all” I replied

“Haha, you might have some competition on your hands bruh, I saw how he was checking
her out”

“Man whateva dawg, we’re not together yet, she can see whoever she wants to” I smiled back at just the thought of me and Taylor together.

“Oh yeah, well, looks like her and Tyga getting close now” he laughed nodding towards the dance floor. I wasn’t really tripping, because I knew that J was teasing me, and that Taylor and Tyga were just friends. Tyga didn’t see her in that way; she was more like his sister from another mother to him.

“Hmmm, I think I’ll go say what’s up to the homie” I smiled watching Taylor’s body move to the music, and I could tell she was enjoying it; J was playing her favorite song. I walked down the stairs and made my way through the crowd with Big Pat in tow; making my way to the center of the dance floor and tapped Tyga on the shoulder.

“What’s up bruh?” I smiled as he turned around causing Taylor to turn to see what was going on as well.

“Man, what’s the deal homie?” Tyga smiled dapping me up. Taylor shot me another dirty look. “Wellll, I’m gonna go upstairs and holla at J, Chris why don’t you take over here. I’ll catch you later babygirl.” Tyga said giving Taylor a kiss on the cheek and me another dap before walking off into the crowd.

“I think I’m going to go upstairs too” Taylor said

“Tay, wait” I gently grabbed her by the waist before she could walk off.

“What Chris” she snapped at me

“I know this is one of your favorite songs, so just dance with me” I pleaded pulling her close to me.
I could smell the scent of her perfume as I pulled her closer.

“Chris, are you serious? You brought Kae with you, and now you’re trying to make a move on me? SERIOUSLY?!?” she said a lil upset with the whole situation. Her and Kae didn’t exactly get off on the right note when they 1st met, so she’s not really fond of her.

“C’mon ma, it’s not even like that. I didn’t bring her with me.I’m not with her anymore, and she just
can’t seem to get that through her head” I replied leaning closer to her. She reluctantly wrapped her arms around my neck as we swayed to the music.

“Chris, seriously, I’m feeling you and I thought you were feeling me too, but I see that all you
want is to have your cake and eat it too” she said with hurt in her voice, causing my heart to crash a
little. I had promised my boy J that I wouldn’t hurt his sister, and here she was already hurting and we haven’t even gotten together yet.

“Tay, please don’t say it like that, it’s not what it looks like, I promise baby” I pleaded with her.
I was really feeling Taylor and could see myself with her; I didn’t want her to write us off before we even got a chance to get started good.

“Well, how is it then Chris” she said slightly pulling back to look me in the face. I paused for
a minute trying to get my thoughts together to try to explain it to her, but before I could say
anything she said” That’s what I thought! Thanks for the dance, but I gotta go” she said pulling
out of my hold and walking off. I hate that I didn’t go after her, but I didn’t want to make a scene.
I looked up at the DJ booth and saw J just shaking his head at me. I knew I had to fix this, but
I didn’t know how! Maybe J would know, I mean since Taylor is his sister.

Terrence POV

“Hey Tammy, give me a shot of Patron” I heard a familiar voice say standing next to me

“Sure thing hun” Tammy replied

“Patron huh Taylor?” I smiled at the beautiful chocolate girl.

“Hey Terrence” she smiled back

“Is everything okay?” I asked her. I could tell that something was bothering her.

“Yeah, everything’s fine” she smiled then threw back her shot. “I thought you’d be back upstairs by now?”

“Naw, I let Tammy make her money first, I’m in no big rush anyway.” I replied

“Oh ok, well since you’re not in a rush, do you wanna dance?” she smiled

“Sure, c’mon girl” I replied pulling her by the hand and leading her to the dance floor. She swayed
her hips left to right to the beat, slowly starting to grind them into my pelvis. I placed my hands on
her hips as she moved them side to side, inhaling her scent. She placed her hands on top of mine.
We danced for so long and so close that I lost track of time. I walked her back over to the bar

“Do you mind if I call you sometime?”

“No, I don’t mind at all, that would be nice” she said reaching for my phone and calling herself.
“I called myself so that I’ll have a missed call that way I’ll have your number too. Tammy can you
pass me my purse from behind the bar” she asked

“Cool. I need to be getting out of here; I have a photo shoot in the morning, so I look forward to
hearing from you soon” I said giving her a hug bye. “Tammy, I’ll holla at you later baby girl” I called
out to Tammy.

“Ok Terrence, I’ll see you later hun” Tammy replied. As I walked out of the club and waited for
Valet to bring my car around; all I could think of was Taylor’s smile.
