Should Have Kissed You at the Park

TAYLOR POV

Just about everybody was there. Tyga brought Lauren, Drake brought Malika, Jermaine was there with Cai, Keith was there with Sydney, Chris was there with me, Mijo brought Carmen and of course Justin, Bow and Kevin were there too. The kids were upstairs in the game room playing a game on the Wii. I loved hanging out with my crew, we always had a good time together.

“Hey babe, I invited Gui, if that’s okay. He didn’t have anything to do tonight, so I told him that he could come hang with us” Chris said, wrapping his arms around my waist, kissing my neck

“Yeah, that’s no problem, he’s part of the crew too” I smiled

“Cool, I’m going out back with the fellas” he replied smacking my butt as he walked out the kitchen heading to the back door, causing me to shoot him a squinted eye look, in which he turned into a smile by giving me a smirk with a wink.

“So, when does the tour start?” Melissa asked as Chris closed the back door

“They leave in a week” Lauren replied

“They? Is Tyga going too?” Melissa looked confused

“Girl, half of them out there are going, with the exception of a few of them like Trey, Aubrey, and Kevin, that’s just how they roll.” I laughed just as the door bell rang. “I’ll get it” I said heading towards the front door. I peeked out the window next to the door to see who it was. “Hey Gui” I smiled opening the door

“Hey Taylor” he smiled giving me a quick hug as he stepped over the threshold. “I hope I’m not intruding or anything” he smiled. Gui is a sweet guy, he’s one of Chris’s dancers but he’s also a good friend of his as well.

“No, of course not, come on in, all the guys are out back, I’ll show you where they are” I smiled leading him through the house. “Chicas, ya’ll know Gui right?” I said as we walked into the kitchen. They sporadically replied they’re yeses and nos, which was my queue to introduce them all, pointing to each girl, “Gui, that’s, Tammy, Lauren, Malika, Cai, Carmen, Sydney and Melissa” I smiled

“Hello ladies, nice to meet all of you” he smiled just as Mijo walked in the door.

“Sup Gui, we out back. We try to stay out of the way of the women” Mijo laughed dapping up Gui “ I just came in to get this case of beer” he said going over to the fridge and taking out a case of Bud Light, then walking over and pecking Carmen on the cheek before heading out the back door.

“Who is he?” Malika asked once Mijo and Gui were outside

“Gui? He’s one of Chris’s dancers. He’s a really sweet guy, kinda quiet too” I smiled

“He’s cute” Melissa blushed

“Lissa, are you blushing?” Tammy laughed

“Shut up T” Melissa side eyed Tammy

“I’m going to get the kids to come down and eat” Sydney laughed shacking her head as she headed towards the stairs. She went up and got Matthew, KJ, and Maddison so that they could eat and play in the back yard. The rest of us got the rest of the food together and started taking it outside for everybody to eat. Keith blessed the food before everyone dug in.

********** Few Hours Later **********

I finished helping Tammy and Melissa clean up the kitchen while Carmen, Lauren, & Malika cleaned up the back yard. Sydney and Cai laid the kids down to watch a movie until they fell asleep in one of the guest rooms upstairs. All the guys were in the den either playing dominoes or cards, being loud as usual. By the time all of us ladies finished what we were doing , we just went and sat on the couch and talked.
“Babe” I called, but got no answer “Babe” still no answer, he was playing dominos with Justin, Keith, and Mijo. “Maury!” I called

“Yeah babe?” he replied concentrating on the dominoes in his hand

“Did you want something to….?” I started only to be interrupted by my sister

“Maury, I am 100% sure that Keith is my baby fatha” Sydney teased rolling her neck and pointing her finger all ghetto like, making everybody laugh including Chris.

“Man Maury, she lying, I ain’t that baby’s fatha, we only slept together once” Keith jumped in right on queue, making us laugh even harder

“In the case of 2 year old Maddison, Keith…..you ARE the father” Justin finished making all of us just fall out laughing.

“Ya’ll got jokes I see” Chris blushed

“Awww baby. Ya’ll leave my Maury alone” I giggled taking Chris’s head and gently pulling it into my bosom.

“They just hating baby” he smiled wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling me down on his lap, then kissing my lips. I loved being with my crew, there was always so much love around when we were together.

“I’m sorry Chris, I just couldn’t help it” Sydney apologized trying to catch her breath from the laughter.

“It’s cool Syd, you can get away with it, had it been anybody else” Chris blushed shaking his head.

“Oh, so I couldn’t get away with it? Whatcha tryin say Chris?” Cai said trying to give attitude, but we all knew she was playing

“All I’m saying is that anybody outside of us, couldn’t get away with that one” Chris chuckled

“Oh ok, tell me something then” she smiled as Jermaine pulled her down on his lap, she didn’t even resist it either. Yeah I noticed it, and shot her a smile, making her blush

“Did you want something to drink?” I asked Chris

“Just a bottle of water please” he pecked my cheek before I got up

“Are you whipping azz over here” I smiled peeking at his hand, my arm around his shoulders.

“I’m trying to, but Keith is killing me” he shook his head “Give me kiss for good luck?” he asked hold up his cheek for me to peck

“That’s not gonna help you bruh” Keith laughed “Gimme 10” he yelled slamming down a domino. I just smiled, shook my head, and went into the kitchen

“Damn Keith, can a brotha catch a break?” he laughed “Gimme 5” he said slamming down a domino

“Looks like Tay’s gonna have to kiss your booboo when you get home” Justin laughed “Gimme 10” he said slamming down his domino. I swear they talk more shyt playing bones than they do on the basketball court

“Here babe” I said setting the bottle of water down on the end of the table.

“Thanks bae” he said studying the dominoes in his hand. I walked over to the couch and sat down to talk with my girls. We talked for a few minutes, before I went upstairs to check on the kids. They were sound asleep. I turned off the TV, closed the and headed back down the stairs. Bow met me in the hallway coming out of the half bath downstairs.

“Hey Tay, what’s up with Melissa?” he inquired

“What you mean?” I asked giving him a confused look

“I mean is she single, what’s up with her?” he grinned

“Down Shad” I laughed patting his back

“What, a brotha can’t inquire about a female?” he smiled

“I didn’t say you couldn’t, but since when have you been shy to ask a girl out? You’re Bow Wow” I laughed

“That’s just it, Bow Wow ain’t shy, but Shad is. I don’t want to step to her as Bow, I just wanna be Shad Moss” he shrugged

“I understand that. I’ll see what’s up and I’ll let you know”

“Cool, thanks Tay” he smiled

“No problem, but I’m not telling you until after the tour, Lissa is cool people and I don’t want Bow Wow to mess anything up for Shad, you feel me” I replied

“Yeah, I feel you, good looking out Tay” he smiled giving me dap. I’ve always been one of the guys when I’m hanging out with them, that is other than to Chris.

I stood at the island in the kitchen and looked around the room with a smile. Our crew was like an extended family to me. We all looked out for each other, nobody could come into our circle starting shyt with one person, because we’d all finish it for them. I’m really going to miss my boys over the next few months. It was going to be while before we could all hang out like this together.

Chris came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist “You okay?” he whispered in my ear

“Yeah baby, I’m just fine, in fact, I’m great” I said turning around in his arms, wrapping my hands around his torso.

He leaned in and smacked my lips quickly “I’m glad” he smiled before heading back into the den to the domino table

“Babygirl, you didn’t make a cake?” Tyga said

“Boy, do you ever stop eating?” I laughed

“Man, I’m saying, I don’t remember smelling any cake when I walked in, what’s up with that?” he asked

I shook my head “Ty, I don’t what to do with you”

“There’s a cake mix and icing in the cabinet Tay” Justin smiled

“Boy I am NOT about to make a cake” I frowned

“Please” they all said damn near in unison

“Ya’ll make me sick” I blushed “This ain’t even my house” I mumbled

“Girl, hush you know any Martin house is home” Sydney laughed coming into the kitchen “I’ll help you” she smiled

“Yeah, me too” Lissa said as she and everybody else came into the kitchen with her. See, this is what I love about my family.

********** A Week Later **********

CAI POV

“Mama J, did you want anything to drink?” Taylor asked Ms.Joyce as she got up from the table with her plate, she was headed inside the house.

“No angel, I’m fine thank you though. Why don’t you have a seat and enjoy yourself, we’ll clean up later” she smiled lovingly at Taylor.

“I will, I promise” Taylor smiled as she opened the back door. I followed behind her with some empty plates, closing the door with my foot once I was in the house. The guys leave for the tour tomorrow morning, so we were having a ‘Going Away, Good Luck’ dinner for them. Ms. Joyce had come in the day before and she was staying with us. Everybody was in the back yard, just talking and enjoying themselves; and Taylor was putting on a good front, but I know my bestie, she was a mess inside. I mean I would be too; my boyfriend, whom I’ve been wanting to be with since I moved back home, is leaving me during our first holiday season together. Not only is he not going to be here, but he’s probably one of the most sought after male artist in the country too; girls will be all over him, left and right. I can’t say that I know EXACTLY what she’s going through right now, but I know it can’t be easy. I threw the empty Dixie plates in the garbage, and looked out the widow on the back door. Chris was sitting next to Ms. Joyce talking while she held Maddison in her arms, slowly rocking her legs left to right, gently putting Maddison to sleep. A few of the guys were sitting at the domino tables, and a few just sitting around talking while the music played in the background.

“Tay, you okay?” I asked as I walked to the island where she stood, her back to me

“Yeah, I’m fine Cai” she turned to me with a forced smile

“Are you sure, you’ve been kinda quiet all day”

“Yeah, I’m just enjoying the day. You know seeing all of us together and just enjoying everyone’s company. I’m fine though bestie, I promise” she smiled, this time a more relaxed one.

“Well, if it makes you feel any better, I’ll still be here with you, so you won’t be completely alone” I joked nudging her in the arm as she put some fruit onto a small platter

“Yeah, and we haven’t really spent any bestie time together since you’ve moved to town, so we’ll have plenty of time huh?” she laughed back.

“Plus, he’ll be back in town soon, even if it is the day after Christmas, and then you and Matty will be leaving me for a week to go on the road with him, so he’ll be home before you know it” I smiled

“I know. Thanks bestie” she smiled

“Just doing my job” I smiled and shrugged as we headed out the back door with the fruit platter, cheesecake, and butter cake with chocolate icing that Taylor had made for dessert.

CHRIS POV

“Well son, the tour starts tomorrow, you know being on the road is all part of the tour too. Are you ready?” mama asked me as she rocked Maddison to sleep. Taylor’s family had accepted me and my mom as family a long time ago when me and Justin first started hanging out.

“Yeah mama, I don’t really have a choice do I? I’ve been practicing for the show literally since before everything was finalized, I didn’t want to get caught not being prepared when we got all the venues and dates finalized. I just wish I had more time to spend with Tay, that’s all” I shrugged and smiled as I turned to see Taylor laughing with Cai through the back window.

“Yeah son, I know you do. This is ya’ll first holiday season together right?” she asked patting my hand that rested on my leg

“Yeah it is. I hate that I won’t be here to take Matthew trick or treating too. I know he was looking forward to it, he’s been talking about his costume since school started” I smiled watching him run around playing football with KJ and fellas. He was the smallest thing out there too.

“Yeah, I know you do son, but you’ll be back in town before you know it. You may not get to spend Christmas with her, but you’ll definitely be bringing in the new year together” she smiled, her green eyes glowing and her dimples showing.

“Yeah, that part is true” I smiled thinking about the plans I had for bringing in the new year with Taylor, ones I couldn’t share with mama. Some of the things that I do in the show is bad enough, I don’t want her to know what me and Taylor do behind closed doors.

“And you know what they say about that?” she asked

“No mama, what do they say” I replied looking at her confused, I was hoping she didn’t read my mind.

“They say, the person or people that you bring in the new year with, will be the same ones that you will end it with” she smiled “And yes I do know what you were thinking, with your mannish ass” she smiled

“What?” I replied trying to sound innocent but failing miserably at it.

“You know” she said blushing “I know you boy” she laughed as Taylor and Cai came back out.

“Ok, dessert is ready” Taylor smiled sitting the cake on the table. “Oh shoot, I forgot the plates and forks, I’ll be right back” she finished turning to go back inside. I followed her inside the house.

As she got to the island where she had laid out the plates and utensils, I walked up behind her, wrapped my arms around her waist, and pulled her as close as I could get her to me. “You okay baby?” I softly spoke in her hear as she leaned her head to the right, placing her hands on top of mine.

“I am now” she smiled resting her head on my chest

“What’s the matter?” I asked softly

“Nothing, I’m always better than I was before you wrap me up in your arms” she smiled

“I love you” I whispered, my lips grazing her ear

“Oh yeah, prove it, scream it to the whole word” she giggled

“I LOVE YOU” I loudly whispered in her ear again

“Why’d you whisper it to me” she smiled

“Because you are my world” I replied.

She slowly turned around in my arms and wrapped her arms around my neck, gently pulling me close to her “I love you more” she smiled, her eyes sparkling with tears, that she batted back as I leaned in closer and gently kissed her lips before pulling out and pulling her close, closing the gap between our chest, into a what seamed like a eternity of an embrace.

“I’m gonna miss this” I smiled rubbing hr back

“What’s that baby”

“Being able to hold you in my arms. I’m not going to be able to touch or hold you for like almost 2 months” I chuckled

“I guess you just have to do a lot of touching and holding tonight then huh?” she winked up at me

“Mmm, I guess so” I chuckled. My girl has a mind like mine “It’s going down tonight” I laughed giving her a quick peck.

“C’mon silly, lets take these plates out here before Tyga tears into that cake with his bare hands” she laughed slipping out of my arms, reaching over to grab the plates, as I grabbed the forks, and we headed outside.
