Krovi.

My heart pounded against my chest, my breaths became shorter and shorter and my legs began to give in with every step; I was uselessly running for my life.

I turned back quickly only to see the two large men still following me. They were tall and fast; they were vultures to girls like me.

“Shit!” I cursed under my shortened breath.

They were catching up to me.

“Come on baby, don’t run! We just want to play with you!” One of my perpetrators hollered.

I shook my head; telling myself I would be okay. I ran faster, or at least I tried to.

Now, I could hear their boots pounding against the damp dirt ground of the forest; and I knew they were close. I didn’t want to turn around, I didn’t want to stumble and fall to my almost obvious fate; I wanted to get away.

“It was stupid to run you know!” The men screamed just before I felt a tight grip on my right arm.

I was jerked back and forced to face my attackers; they seemed two times more menacing under the dark tree’s shadows. Their eyes were full of hate and evil intentions; their smirks were insidious and snide.

“Hey baby face.” The taller one whispered in my ear, leaving traces of saliva on my cheek.

I slowly closed my eyes, resigning my life to these men. The second man jerked me towards him and sickly licked my neck.

Despite my mind thinking this was it for me, my instincts thought differently; I tried to fight back. I clawed at the man’s face with all my might, leaving a large scratch beginning at his eyebrow and ending in the middle of his cheek.

“Bitch!” He screamed, slapping me across the face.

I fell to the ground and quickly tried to get up; all the while my eyes burned up with thick tears.

“Come ‘ere!” The other snapped, snatching my ankles and pulling me back towards him.

“No!” I screamed, finally able to speak.

The man laughed cynically and pulled me in under his legs.

“You’ll be sorry for this whore!” He hissed, positioning his hand in the air; ready to punch me.

I simply let out a muffled cry and closed my eyes; unable to move because of his weight.

“Say goodnight!” He grinned before swinging his fist.

But there was nothing… no impact, no pain, just screams. I quickly opened my eyes and saw that the men were no longer there. Though, I could hear them pleading to someone in the distance and their screams echoed throughout the forest; they seemed to come from all directions. There was also a deep growling sound; too loud to be a single wolf but to threatening to be a human.

Seconds later, I snapped myself back to reality and quickly got up off the ground; stumbling towards the opposite direction into town. I wasn’t sure what exactly attacked the two men who chased me down, but I didn’t want to stick around to find out either.
