This Could Be All I've Waited For

We Could Get Away

“Cady, play this game with me,” Jack whined from the seat next to me on the plane. This was only the seventh time he’d whined about something or another since our flight had taken off. Jack was the worst to sit next to on plane rides.

“It’s solitaire, it’s kind of meant to be a one person game,” I reasoned smirking at him as he pouted back at me.

“I want all of your attention, Cady!” he exclaimed throwing his arms around me and causing several people to look our way.

I chuckled hugging him back. “Well you have mine and half of the plane’s as well,” I informed him.

“I don’t want the plane’s attention,” he whispered in my ear before kissing under my jaw softly.

I pushed him back into his seat quickly.

“Jack, we are in a very public place where there is no such thing as privacy,” I scolded him, “Keep it together mister.”

“Sorry, but my girlfriend’s parents came home early and I’ve been sharing the same bed with her for the past two weeks without any sort of sexual encounters and I’m quite a bit on edge.”

I rolled my eyes, “Please, control yourself.”

“I’m just saying that there is a mile high club and we can definitely join it right now,” he offered grinning like a fool.

“There are specific rules prohibiting such activities,” I stated pinching his side and making him yelp.

“The offer is still out there, I can totally pay off a flight attendant,” he said rubbing the place that I’d no doubt left a mark.

“If I wouldn’t have sex with you on the tour bus with our friends around, what makes you think that I’d do it with a plane full of strangers around?” I asked.

“Because I’m a hot piece of ass that you can no longer resist,” Jack stated confidently.

I laughed loudly at that causing him to pout at me again. “You are indeed a hot piece of ass,” I told him patting his knee, he gave me a hopeful look, “but I’m a not doing it.” Jack’s face fell and I couldn’t help but laugh at him again.

“Whatever there’s only like twenty minutes until we land anyway,” he said folding his arms across his chest, “there wouldn’t be enough time to have any fun with it.”

I smacked his shoulder and rolled my eyes at him as the fasten seat belts sign lit up.

-------------------------------------------------

“I think I like the apartment life,” I announced plopping myself down on Jack’s couch as soon as we’d walked in the door.

“Eh, you have to do your own laundry,” Jack countered throwing his bag into the laundry room.

I chuckled, “Jack most of us are told to do our own laundry in high school,” I reasoned.

“I suppose it beats having to worry about whether anyone else is home or not,” he said lowly sitting on down next to me and pulling me into his lap.

I giggled at how silly he was and leaned in kissing him softly. “You have absolutely no self-control, you know that?” I asked linking my arms around his neck and looking him in the eyes.

“I wasn’t aware that I was supposed to have self-control,” he said shrugging and pecking my lips quickly before grinning widely at me.

Just then there was a knock at the door before it was being flung open. “Hey kiddos!” Alex called out not bothering to wait for Jack to get up to open the door.

Jack threw his head back groaning causing me to laugh loudly.

“Hey, Alex, what brings you here?” I asked not bothering to get off of Jack’s lap. Not that Jack would have let me move if I had tried.

“Now I have to have a reason to barge into Jack’s apartment?” Alex asked putting his hands on his hips glaring at me.

“Alllleeeex,” Jack groaned his fingers digging into my hips.

Alex eyes went wide, “Oh shit!” he gasped putting a hand over his mouth as he laughed, “I totally interrupted something didn’t I?”

I couldn’t help but to laugh at his reaction. While Alex and I were laughing and Jack was glaring between the two of us Rian waltzed in through the front door that was still open, because Alex was raised in a barn.

“It was nice of you to jump out of the car and leave me to find a parking space alone, asshole,” Rian complained to Alex.

“Good grief!” Jack exclaimed, “I can’t catch a break!”

Rian looked to Jack strangely and then between Alex and I as we both continued to laugh. “What the fuck is going on in here?” he asked before kicking the door shut behind him.

“Just the usual,” Jack answered sarcastically, “Any time Cady and I are together and within the same city as Alex he constantly interrupts at precisely the wrong time.”

Alex and I had finally caught our breath and Alex was just about to comment when Jack started up again.

“Plot twist!” he shouted, “Rian showed up this time!”

Everyone that wasn’t Jack laughed at his expense while Jack glared at the ceiling.

“You will be just fine,” I told Jack patting his cheek before settling myself on the couch cushion beside him.

Jack let out an exaggerated groan and shot a glare at Rian and Alex as they laughed again. “What do you two want?” he demanded pitching a fit as if he were a toddler.

“We wanted to invite you guys for dinner!” Alex announced proudly grinning like a mad man.

Rian gave Alex a strange look before explaining further, “We were going out with Cassadee and Lisa tonight and wanted to invite you guys since you are finally here.”

“There are these ridiculously convenient things called cell phones,” Jack pointed out.

“We were in the area,” Rian said shrugging.

“Get out,” Jack said in a serious monotone voice pointing towards the door behind the pair of them.

“Stop being so butt hurt over this,” I demanded smacking his chest Jack’s chest for good measure.

“Just say that you’ll meet us for dinner and we’ll get out of your hair Jack-o,” Alex teased ruffling Jack’s already perfectly disheveled hair.

Jack swatted his hands away, “We’ll be there as long as it means you’ll leave!”

--------------------------------------------

Jack growled something unintelligible as we made our way into his apartment after dinner. He had continued to be grumpy after Alex and Rian had left because I insisted that we focus on getting settled and dressed for dinner. He and grumbled throughout dinner under his breath about how we never got to do anything alone.

“What is your deal grumpy butt?” I asked swatting at him as I threw my purse onto an empty chair.

Jack pulled me into the bedroom with an apparent pout on his lips. He pushed me back onto the bed and waited for me to get comfortable before crawling in next to me and curling himself around my
body.

“We should get away,” Jack mumbled burying his face into my neck.

“What is that supposed to mean? We just got here,” I pointed out running my fingers though his hair.

“Yeah but we’re never really alone,” he stated, “at your parent’s we weren’t alone here we’re clearly not alone. We should get on a plane and take off for a week or something.”

I thought the idea over for a moment. If we left where would we go? And was there any guarantee that we wouldn’t know someone there?

“Alright,” I said deciding why the hell not hop on a plane with no real destination in mind, “where are we going?”

I felt Jack’s lips pull tight into a grin. “Somewhere with a beach,” he said, “wanna go to California?”

I chuckled, “Zack is in California along with a lot of people that we know,” I pointed out.

“But we don’t have to tell anyone where we’re going or that we’re there,” he offered, “we can get a hotel on the beach and just never leave.”

I laughed, “Alright California it is,” I said agreeing.

Jack’s head popped up into my line of vision he face bright with a smile. “You mean it?” he asked excitedly.

I shrugged my shoulders, “We saw a good bit of the gang your parents won’t be back in Baltimore for a while why would we stay here?” I asked. “But just so you know I didn’t pack a bathing suit so that is something we’ll have to worry about.”

“Because I mind buying you swimwear,” he teased.

I rolled my eyes as he jumped up to grab his laptop. I guess he really wanted to get out of Baltimore as quickly as possible.

Alright so it made me too sad to end it in two chapters so I'm adding another one possibly more I don't know I have a problem letting this one go. Also I'm sorry I didn't update yesterday I got super busy.

On another note Spring Fever was incredible however the crowd was not the friendliest I've ever experienced. Lots of roughness (to an unusual extent) and crowd surfers were dropped an excessive amount. Shame on those who were too mean hearted to allow others to enjoy themselves.
