I Love You, Why Can't You Love Me?

Once class got out I walked to my car.
I checked my phone finding a text message and missed call from Brian.
I clicked open the message.

Hey, after class meet me at the coffee shop we always go to.

I put my phone down once I got in my car and started it up.

I arrived at the coffee shop right on time.
I spotted Brian at 'our' table once I walked in.
We always sat at the same spot when we came here.
I sat across from him smiling.
"So, how was class?" He asked.
"How do you think? It's english."
He chuckled. I loved his laugh...
"Very true. You got me there. So what does english have to do with being a vet?"
"Nothing. I'm doin git in case I don't become a veterinarian. I'll become an english tutor or teacher or something."
"Smart thinking." He smiled.
"I know. I'm a freaking genius." We both laughed.
Suddenly a blonde girl wearing an apron came over.
"Good afternoon." She smiled too big. "Welcome to Lil Von's Coffee Stop. May I take your order?"
"I'll have a Carmel Frap." I said smiling.
"Coffee or no coffee?"
"No coffee please."
she wrote it down then left.
Brian already had his coffee.
"I forgot you like frappucinos."
"Always have." I slightly smiled.
"Ashley likes Mocha Latte's."
I nodded looking down at my hands in my lap.

My frappucino came and I took small sips.
"Brian."
"Yea?"
"Why did you call me here today?"
"I need your opinion on something."
"Well, go on." I smiled.
"Okay so what if I proposed?"
I choked on my frap.
"What?" I asked wiping my face.
"I mean I love Ashley. She's perfect in every way. Why not?"

Because she's a cheating, lying, whore.

"This is huge, Bri. Think about this first. Do you want to settle down with this girl?"
I said trying to convince him not to.
"Yes. Belle, I want to have a family with her."
I immediately looked away trying to hold back the tears.
"Belle? Is everything alright?"
"What? Oh, yeah. Uhm I have to go." I stood up placing my money on the table.
"But Brian I think it's sweet and lovely that you want to propose. I just think you should thinj about it first." I rushed and then walked out.
I sat in my car and let the tears run.
"Why can't he love me? What have I done wrong to deserve this torture?" I looked up at my car ceiling.
A knock on my window brouht me back to reality.
It was Brian.
I quickly wiped my tears and opened the door.
"Belle, what is going on? You can tell me." I looked down.
He squated down in fron tof me to meet my eyes.
"Belle, please." He whispered.
More tears found their way out and slid down my cheeks.
He wiped them away.
"What's going on in that head of yours?"
"I can't."
"What do you mean?"
"I can't tell you." I whispered.
"Why not? We tell each other everything."
"Because it's about you..." I didnt look at him. Afraid of what he'd say.
"Belle, I don't understand..."

I sighed.
"I can't say it or i'll ruin our friendship. And or possibly your relationship with Ashley."
"Nothing can ruin our friendship."
"Woulsn't be so sure about that."
"Please tell me."
"I-I" I took a deep breath." Imkindainlovewithyou." I mumbled.
"What?"
"Brian i've been in love with you ever since our junior year of highschool...."
I laid my head in my hands just letting the tears fall knowing I just lost him.

He didn't talk for sometime.

"Fuck...." I whispered. "I fucked up big time...."
"No you didn't."
I looked up at him.
"How? My stupid fucking feeling ruin everything! I don't deserve you. Tell Ashley she's a lucky girl."
I pushed him out of the way so I could shut my door.
I sped home.
Thank god Lilly was gone.
I walked to my room crying.
"I'm so fucking stupid...I fucking hate myself so much..."
I slipped my shoes off and got under my covers crying.
I snuggled up to my pillow and just cried.
I was never getting him back.
I suddenly felt the bed sink in.
I turned over to see him.
"What are you doing here?"
"Shh...don't worry about that right now."
"But-" He put his index finger to my lips.
"Lay back down."
I did as was told and he got under the covers with me.
He wrapped his arm around my stomach.
"Let's just say I kicked Ashley out."
"What?"
"She cheated. I caught her in the act."
"I'm so sorry, Brian."
"Don't worry. I have you now."
I smiled then turned around to meet his brown eyes.
"What are you saying?" I asked.
"I've loved you ever since we met. I never wanted to risk what we had."
I smiled a real smile for the first time in years.

As we lay there staring at each other I realozed how close he was.
I could feel his warm breath running across my face.
He thennpressed his lips on mine.
They were so soft and plump.
It was better than I ever imagined it to be.
I wrapped my arms around his neck as his hands rested on my waist.
He hovered over me as he pried my arms from his neck and held them above my head.
Before he went that far he stopped.
"Not yet, Isabelle." I smiled and kissed him again.
"Okay."

After laying in bed cuddling for an hour we got up.
We walked out holding hands when Lilly yelled.
"FINALLY!" I laughed blushing.
"Your welcome." She said crossing her arms.
"Huh?" I asked confused.
"Well I made sure he xaught the Wicked Bitch of the West cheating. No offense Brian but she had been cheating for quite awhile."
"No problem. She was never the one anyway. I didnt realize my girl was rih tin front of me this whole time." He said smiling at me.
"Awh! You two are just too adorable!!"
"Lilly. Seriously, bro." I said and they both laughed.

I finally had my Brian. He was finally mine. Ashley was out of the picture. Finally my life was complete.
