We're Complete Opposites But I Still Love You

I called Athena over today since I hadn't seen her all day.
She brought Sapphire her daughter over with her.
I loved Sapphire.
She had blonde curly hair and the brightest blue eyes.
That's where she got her name.
From her eyes.
Her father left Athena before she was born.
Poor baby..
Thank god Jason hasn't left.
Hopefully he never does.
Anyways Jason and Sam are out for a father son day.
They haven't had one since I moved in..

"Athena are you thirsty?" I asked her.
"Yeah, what do you have?"
"Water, Soda, Apple Juice, Tea."
"Water. Saph, you thirsty?"
"Yes mommy."
"You want Apple Juice??"
"Yeah!"

Athena laughed and we went into the kitchen.
I got one glass out and the water and Apple Juice.
I poured the water in the glass and Athena poured the Apple Juice into Sapphire's sippy cup.
We sat back down and talked for a few hours.
Suddenly the baby kicked really hard.
So hard it hurt.
I winced and rubbed my belly.

"Kicking?" Athena asked.
"Yeah. A little too hard. it's like he's doing cartwheels on my fucking uterus."
"I know how that feels. Sapphire used to always do that to me. How far along are you?"
"Almost six months now."
"Yepp. They do that about this time. He probably misses his daddy's voice. Do you sing to him?"
"No?"
"Do that. Babies in the womb like to hear their mother's voice. Talk to him. Sing to him. Read to him. They love it."
"Really? I didn't know that.."
"Yepp. It's amazing I know.."

We talked for a little bit more until Athena had to leave to go to her mom's house.
I bid her a goodbye and cleaned up the livingroom of the glass of water.
I put the glass into the sink and cleaned the dishes.
A few minutes later I heard the fornt door and talking.
Suddenly two hands wrapped themselves around me.
I smiled and the baby kicked really hard so I winced and leaned back against Jason.

"You okay, babe?"
"The baby has been kicking really hard lately..."
"I wish I could do something about it..."
"Talk to him some more. Athena said talking to the baby helps."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I didn't know that."

Jason kneeled down until he was eye level with my belly and lifted my shirt and rubbed it.

"Baby, you need to calm down in there. You're hurting mommy.. Did you know we love you very much? I cant wait until you're born. I'm going to teach you so many things. You'll be so talented. And you'll protect your mommy. I lov you little man."

He stood up and smiled at me.
I pulled my shirt back down.
The baby kicked again but softer this time.

"He's happy." I said.
"What are we going to name him?"
"I'm not sure..."
"Well what names do you like?" He asked.
"Liam, Duston, Dante, James."
"Those are all good... We'll wait and see okay?"
"Souds good. How was your day?"
"Good. Until dad invited Victoria."
"What? What happend to father son day?"
"Guess he thought that included his girlfriend. Otherwise I would've brought you."
"What a dick..." I whispered.
"I know."

He kissed my forehead.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head on his chest taking in his scent.
He rested his head on top of mine.

"I love you so much, Teal. I cant go a day without you in my arms."
"I love how romantic you've gotten."
"What do you mean?"

He looked at me.

"You were never this romantic. The roses. The promise ring. The candle lit dinner. I love it."
"Good. There's more to come."

I smiled and kissed him.
