These Things I've Done

Chapter 30.

I looked back at Justin.

"Why did you talk to him like that?" I said. He looked at me confused.
"What do you mean?" He said. I sighed.
"Like.. well, you wouldn't talk to me like that." He bit his lip.
"I'm sorry.. I.. I didn't realize." I looked away.
"They're just like us, you know." I said quietly, looking down.
"No they're not." He said. My head shot back up, glaring at him. "If they were, they wouldn't be here." I bit my tongue, holding in everything I wanted to say.

I got up, collecting my things.
"Taylor, wait.." He said. I stopped.
"What." I snapped. He grabbed his things.
"Taylor, I'm sorry, I.. I didn't mean to offend you.." I turned around.
"I just think you should keep your mouth shut about things you don't understand, okay?" I snapped. He backed away, his eyes wide.
"Taylor.. I.. I'm sorry" He sighed. "Look, if.. if it means anything.. um.. how.. how about.. I.. I make it up to you." He said. I stared back at him, confused. His bright green eyes stared back at me, wide eyed.
"And.. how do you plan on doing that?" I asked. He bit his lip, moving closer.

"Well, how about I take you to the dance tomorrow." I bit my lip, feeling my cheeks burn. He stared at me, hopeful. I looked down.
"I.. I should be heading back inside." I said, quickly turning, and walking back into the hospital.

I quickly walked down the hallway to Kellin's room. I stopped, feeling my heart beat faster before knocking on the door. I waited a minute before it finally opened.
"Kellin?" I said. He stared back at me with his big blue eyes.
"Taylor, I'm.. I'm sorry I.." I gently pushed him back into his room, shutting the door behind me. He bit his lip, still staring back at me.
"Don't listen to him.." I said quietly. He sighed, gently touching my cheek. My heart was beating faster. I couldn't help but smile up at him. He leaned in, gently leaning his forehead against mine.

"So, about the dance.." I said. He sighed, gently intertwining our fingers.
"What about it?" He said, gently pulling me closer.
"Do.. you still want to go?:" I asked. He looked down.
"Only if you want to.." He said quietly.
"I'd.. I'd love to go with you." I said. He gently moved his hands up, holding my face in his palms. I stared up into his eyes, feeling my heart beat faster the longer he stared into mine.

He then leaned in.
"Kellin.." I said. He stopped, his eyes getting wide. He cheeks got red. He gently moved away, slipping his hand out of mine.
"I.. I'm sorry.. I.. I just.." His eyes looked sad. I sighed. What could it hurt.

I pulled him in, gently kissing his lips. I felt his lips turn up into a smile. I moved away, he was smiling at me. I smiled back, gently kissing his cheek.

"I should be getting back." I said quietly. He nodded, running his fingers through my hair. Before I left, he pulled me close once again, stealing another kiss.

"Goodbye, Kellin." I giggle, walking out the door. He watched me leave, the smile still on his face. I felt my cheeks burn.
"Taylor.." I heard from behind me. I stopped, turning back. His eyes were bigger than before. He gently reached out, grabbing my hand, pulling him back to me. My heart was beating faster than ever. He then pulled me in, kissing me harder than before. I reached up, wrapping my arms around his neck, kissing him harder.

I don't know what had come over me. I moved away, leaning my forehead against his.
"I.. I should really go, Kellin." He bit his lip, nodding, gently kissing my forehead before I walked out.
