Matt and Max Miles are boy, girl twins at the of age of 17 moving back to New Jersey for senior year after leaving to Canada when they were 13, Matt quickly re-unites with his old best friend Jack Way and they spend almost the entire summer together. Max on the other hand is dealing with temptations from her past and a suffocating addiction she thought she shook fallows her where ever she goes. By the time school is starting she has made a rather appalling reputation for herself and getting dragged away from her brother by the cold, dark clutches of drugs.
Jack finds even himself is getting pulled away from all the things that matter to him in order to save his best friends sister from the world they left behind, it's hard enough managing football and popularity but when he has a sudden soft spot for this fallen angel of a girl his perfect high school life dreams disappear as well as her self control.
