The New Queen

Sweet Sweet Victory

Anna turned 23 the day after the all-around. Unlike four years ago when a wimpy silver medal was her birthday present. She got to spend her birthday admiring her second all-around gold medal at the olympics. It was not only exhilirating but it was surprising. No one believed she could do it, not even she believed she could. But she did, and her mother must be so proud of her.
This gold medal changed EVERYTHING for her. She realized after winning it that she could do so many great things with her life. She didn’t HAVE to do what her mother wanted her to. She was having so much success doing what she loved. She could do so much. She had some important decisions to make.
On her birthday she didn’t get to do much, but Vika was in Paris and they got to spend a lot of time together. Anna, Vika, Aliya and Maria all hung out in the village talking and giggling and having a great time.

The few days of event finals was a breeze for the girls, especially Anna. They had had so much success that week, nothing could possibly make them upset.
Aliya and Anna were the only two to win medals. Aliya won silver on bars. Anna won two silvers on beam and floor. A surprising young romanian took the floor medal with a 15.2 score over Anna’s 15 even score.
It was a great Olympic experience.
Anna didn’t want to leave Paris. She loved it to much. She associated all these warm, happy feeling with Paris. Even though she didn’t win as much medals as she did in Rio, she still had a blast. With the five medals she won in Rio combined with the four medals she won in Paris. She now had a grand total of nine olympic medals. She could retire now.
I don’t have my facts straight but I believe Anna has more world medals than any gymnast ever. She’s been to five world championships.

She wasn’t in Paris for long, but while she was there she met up with some more old friends. Sam REFUSED to let her leave without talking to him. They talked college and Anna admitted she might not go back to Michigan but maybe another university closer to home. He just wanted them to keep in touch.
Emin came as well and they had a whole conversation about her life and the tremendously awesome thing she’s been through. He’s always been Dr. Emin, but now she was Dr. Anna for him.
