Well, Who's to Say You'll Have to Do it Alone?

Today was Jacks birthday and me, him, Zack and Rian were out celebrating. Everyone had been drinking but me, i just wasnt in the mood to nurse a hangover in the morning. While i was sitting on a couch in the club we were at i felt somthing hit my back. Then out of knowhere Jack had his arms around my neck, he smelled terrible.

"Alex" he sang in my ear slurring

"Yes?" i said

"Come drink, its my birthday and i want you so wasted your pants will fall off" he said and i laughed

"No, not to mention i will be the one driving. And possibly dealing with your drunk antics at home" i said

"Alex come on!, Rian can drive hes not so bad" he said moving to sit on my lap

"No" i said and he whinned and stumbled over to Rian

We stayed until Jack was so drunk he couldnt walk, meaning Zack carried him to the car. When me and Jack finally got home it was a little passed one am. I was walking with him to the door when i heard my name.

"Alex!, i need you over here right away!" i heard my neighbor Lauren say, she was my age. Very nice girl

"Yep, just let me dump him inside and i'll be right over" i said and she nodded

I went inside and put Jack on the couch, he fell asleep fast. I went over to Laurens and knocked on the door. She answered holding a baby in a blanket.

"Hey" she said

"Hi...i didnt no you had a kid" i said confused

"I dont. I found her on your doorstep" she said seriously

"What!?" i said

"Yep in that pink carseat with that diper bag" she said and i looked behind her to see the stuff on the floor

"I dont even-...i have no clue what to say to this" i said

"Well there was a note attached to the bag, i didnt look at it though. Not my business" she said handing the note to me

"Thanks" i said and read the note to myself it said: Alex this is your daughter, shes almost 2 months old. Her name is Caitlyn or Cait for short. Im handing over all custody to you because i cant handle the responsibility. Im so sorry, i love you both - Brook. I couldnt believe what i was reading

"Whats it say?" Lauren asked

"My ex-girlfriend just dumped our baby on me. I dont no whats worse the fact that she cant be woman enought to take care of a baby or the fact that i didnt know she was pregnant. I never recieved a single call about any of this!, this is unbelievable" i said

"Woah, im sorry" she said

"Thanks, and thanks for taking her in" i said

"No problem. Want me to keep her for the night?, shes fast asleep and you dont have a single thing you need. I could take care of her until then" she said

"No, i'll be okay i have the diaper bag" i said

"Well what about the crib, the changing table, the food. The endless things you'll need. Look i will keep her until you get situated with everything. Your under enough stress of having to get everything, let me just take her for the night. I would be happy to do it" she said

"I cant let you do that" i said

"Its fine, i have a fold out crib my nephew uses here. She can stay until your ready. Its totally fine" she said

"Alright i guess. Thanks Lauren" i said and left

I went to my room as soon as i got home, i needed to figure out a plan. I needed to figure out what i needed to buy and how i'd afford it. I fell asleep a little while later and got up the next morning and called my mom. I needed to tell her about her granddaughter. I told my mom about Caitlyn, she was beyond pissed despite me not knowing about her. After i had my long argument with my mom i went out to the living room to see Jack looking confused.

"What the hells going on?" he said

"Nothing just fighting with my mom" i said

"About?" he asked

"My baby" i sighed

"What?" he laughed

"Brook was pregnant, she had the baby and left her on our doorstep. Laurie took her in for the night so i could figure it all out" i said and his face went serious

"Man so your not joking?" he said getting up and coming over to me

"Nope, what the hell am i gonna do Jack?" i sighed leaning against him

"Well do you wanna keep her?" he asked

"Well...yeah" i said

"Okay then you will, we'll raise her together" he said

"Really?, your alright with living with a baby?" i said

"Of course" he said

"Okay cool. Thanks" i said

"Mhmm" he said

"By the way why arnt you hungover?" i laughed

"I am i puked everything up like a hour ago, plus this news kinda sobered me up" he said

"Oh okay. So what do we do now?" i asked

"Baby shopping?" he said

"Mhmm" i said and my phone wrang and i looked at the number it was Brook

"Who is it?" he said

"Brook" i said mad

"Ignore it we've got stuff to do" he said and i hit ignore
