Long Live Us

I was sitting in my room watching tv, it was the middle of November and it was freezing outside and snowing so i didnt have any desire to go out. My parents were over at the new neighbors house, my mom told me about them and how they have two daughters. Probably a little 10 year old or something and a baby. Thats how the familys on this street are for some odd reason. My mom yelled up to me breaking the silence of the house.

"Alex come meet the neighbors" she yelled

"Mom its cold!" i yelled back, i wasnt a fan of the cold to be honest or winter in general. Sucks i was born in the winter, why couldnt i have been born in July?!

"Thats why you have a jacket" she said

"Fine" i said and i got up and put on a over-sized hoodie and went downstairs

I went outside and over to the neighbors, my parents were talking to them and when my mom noticed me she motioned me over. I walked over to them and my mom put her arm around me.

"This is our son Alex, Alex this is Krissy and her husband James" my mom said introducing us to eachother

"Hello" i said

"Hi Alex, how old are you?" Krissy asked me

"16, i'll be 17 in a few weeks" i said and she nodded

"Awesome, our daughter turned 17 in august. And there she is now. Elyse come here" she said and i looked up and a girl my age walked over. She was really pretty, she had black hair and brown eyes

"Hi" Elyse said when she got to us

"Hi" me and my parents said

"Hunny this is Michelle, Mark and their son Alex" Krissy said introducing us

"Its so good to meet you guys" Elyse said

"Same here, so when do you start school?" my mom said

"Monday" Elyse said

"Same school as Alex i assume, im sure he can help you out. Right Alex?" my mom said

"Totally i'd love to" i said

"Sweet that would be great, thanks" Elyse said and i nodded

"I wish our daughter Maddi was here now to meet you guys but shes in class" Krissy said

"Whats she going to school for?" my mom asked

"Shes studying to be a doctor" Krissy said

"Thats good, why dont you guys all come over later for dinner. About 6:30?" my mom said

"Are you sure?" Krissy asked

"Yes of course, it'd be great to get to know eachother better" my mom said

"Alright we'll come" Krissy said

"Great!" my mom said

"Im cold, can i go now?" i said and my mom nodded and i ran home

Later when Krissy and the rest of her family came over my mom called for me to come to the dinning room. I came down and was introduced to Maddi, then i had to sit at the only empty chair wich was between Maddi and Elyse. I felt really anxious, lets just say i have social anxiety when i meet new people.

"Alex" my mom said

"Yeah?" i said

"Whats going on hunny?, are you sick?" she said

"I feel fine why?" i asked

"Your just not there. Spacey" she said

"Well you know me, im never attentive. Attention span of a 2 week old" i laughed

"Very true. Try to be in the moment" she said and everyone laughed

"Mhm" i said

"Any plans for the rest of the night?" she asked me

"Uhmm...Jack wants to come over to build a snowman for some reason. And can he sleep over?" i asked

"Of course, Elyse you should stay and join the boys" my mom said

"I'd love to, if Alex doesnt mind" Elyse said

"Its fine with me. Im sure Jack wont care either" i said

"Alright then i will, thanks" she said and smiled at me and i smiled back
