I Bite My Tongue So You Don't Hear Me

Mood

She awoke in that same room where she only two days ago had wittnessed flashbacks of her childhood.
Dan's arms where intwined around her waist.

She looked down at her arms that where stained with blood.
She began breathing heavily trying to break Dan's tight grip around her.
He turned over breaking his grip. She thought he was still asleep but his eye cracked open out of her sight.
She fell to the ground holding her chest, grabbing her t-shirt tight and breathing, gasping for air desperately.
Then a kicking pain appeared in her head she used her free hand to grab her head.
Images flashed by.
The knife. Her dad. The police car. The hospital. The cemetery.
All of it the whole ordeal realed out like a movie within her head
She screamed.
Let go of her chest and head.
Then layed back on the floor.

Dan stood up at her scream.
Saw her lying on the floor like a dead body.
She turned her head to face him and then turned it to face the roof.
Dan went over to her side then leant over her face.
Her eyes latched on to his gaze and she arose from the floor.
He moved some hair from Gemma's face.
'Whats wrong?' He asked
'I don't know' She muttered looking down
'What happened to you?'
'I don't know! Stop asking fucking questions!' She yelled whilst standing up 'Just leave me alone Dan!' She then walked out of the room heading towards the living room.

He ran after her.
'Whats your problem?' He snapped entering the living room.
She was pacing with her hands on her head.
'I said leave me alone' She informed him
'And just like on Thursday, I'm not going to leave you'
'Just piss off before I get angry at you'
She continued pacing up and down.

Dan stood watching her pace.
Something in his mind clicked.
All of sudden he realised what was happening.
The illness.
His mind traces back to the time she said it makes her do and be things that she is not and her emotions don't react right.
He didn't know what to do.
The best he could do was leave her alone but he couldn't bring himself to do that.

She could harm herself again. He wasn't going to risk it.
He grabbed her mid- pace by the wrist and held her wrists infront of her face.
He looked deep into her eyes and searched for the real girl.
The girl he met two days ago.
The girl that he cared about.

She looked back at him, into his crystal blue eyes trying to understand what he was doing.
She racked her brain to find an answer to him, an answer to life in general.
He looked back into he eyes hoping she would come back to him. Back to reality.

Then her eyes widened. She breathed a big breathe.
They exchanged stares.
Dan broke the silence 'Gemma' He muttered
'Dan' She replied
'Are you' He paused 'You?' He asked
'Of course I'm me' She laughed 'Why?'

He sighed. She didn't remember it.
Not a thing.
Waking up. Screaming none of it.
He sighed again.

'Nothing, your fine now it's alright' He said letting go of her wrists.
She raised an eyebrow at his response.
'Dan,what happened?' She asked with a stern tone.
He took in a breath.
'You woke up breathing heavily and screaming' He began 'You told me to leave you alone but I didn't' He breathed 'I couldn't' He added.

She took a step back gasping whilst doing so.
'And I didn't harm you did I?' She asked taking more steps back
He raised an eyebrow.
'No why would you?' He questioned
'Its just' She mumbled 'I- last time'
'Spit it out!' He shouted taking steps towards her.
'Last time I had a mood change I tried to beat up my brother'
He lowered his eyebrow and took her hands.
He sat her down on a sofa and he sat on the coffee tablel
facing her.
'What do you mean tried?' He muttered
'As in,he fought back' She answered tracing over a bruise on her neck 'He was oblivious, had no clue it was the illness he flipped out' She breathed 'Worst part was I felt sorry for him'
His eyes stared at the bruise.
'I'm not your brother, I wouldn't fight back' He smiled
'You would let me beat you up?' She asked
'The thing is you couldn't beat me up even if you tried' He answered with a arrogant tone getting up to go and make coffee.

He turned the kettle on and sighed once more.
What more mood changes could she have.
And what danger was he in?

She put her head in her hands.
What was she doing here? With this overly kind guy?
She could have hurt him.
Why don't you just go die she thought.
It would save Dan from fussing over her she thought.

He brought the cup if tea in.
They didn't speak for a while.
They just sat surrounded by their own thoughts.
