Chapter 2
Lisa’s POV
We got out of the cab in front of our hotel and got our suitcases. When we got inside it was very crowded but also very cozy. We found someone who spoke english and we could check in to our appartement. We all shared a bedroom. Me and Tara shared a room and so did Lianne and Isabella.
“You know what girls, i’m really tired” i said while i yawned. The girls nodded and we said good night to eachother. We made up our beds and got ourselves in the pajamas. Normally we would talk in to the late night hours, but we were so tired we felt immediately asleep.
Next morning i woke and i felt al energetic. I felt like going to the mall which was not far from here. So i got up and saw Tara was still sleeping. Silently i got out of the room, took some clothes with me and got myself quietly into the bathroom. I enjoyed the warm water on my body. It felt good and i relaxed.
Later i got myself dressed and saw nobody was up yet, but i didn’t feel like i wanted to stay in our apartment. So i got my shoes on, wrote a letter to the girls that i wouldn’t be gone for long and that i had my cell phone with me.
I got my jacket from the peg and putted it on. Silently i left the apartment and got myself outside. I enjoyed the fresh air and started walking. Then i smelt some delicious food and felt my stomach rumble. I walked to the tiny café and went inside. Then i got myself a seat near a window so i could look outside.
Almost immediately someone came to my table. She started talk finnish. Ofcourse, i almost forgat that. In my best english i asked “Do you speak english?”. I felt my cheeks getting warm and red. But surprisingly the woman said in broken english “sure, a little bit. What do you like to order?”.
I sighed a bit relieved. “Can i have some eggs and a coffee?” i asked. The waitress nodded and went away. I saw that i could smoke in here and litted up a cigarette. It did not take long for the waitress to get back. She smiled and said “i hope you like your dinner, enjoy”. I thanked her and started eating, i noticed i was very hungry and my plate was empty real fast.
“And did you enjoy your dinner? “ the waitress asked with a nice smile. I smiled back at her and said “yes, thank you very much. Can i pay the bill?”. The waitress went away to get my dishes into the kitchen and came back with a check. I looked at it and got my wallet and gave the waitress her money with a tip. The waitress thanked me gratefully and i got on my way to the mall.
It was not that difficult, 5 or 10 minutes later i stood in front of the mall. When i walked in saw a music store, it looked so lovely that i could not resist to go inside.
When i came inside the store, i heard someone playing piano. I smiled it was a really beautiful song. But what amazed me that there was a young man playing. He had blond hair made into, what do you call those... spikes? And he was dressed in old jeans and shirt from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Then my eyes felt on the collection of records. And i started looking through them. Then i came by a record of Thunder. Awesome! I didn’t got this record yet and the songs are amazing!
Happily i went to the old man to pay for it. The young man was in front me speaking in finnish to the old man. Probably he was done because he turned around. Clearly he hadn’t seen me coming into the store and he walked against me. I felt to the ground and said in my own language “AU, God damnit!”.
The young man must have noticed i wasn’t from around here because he started speaking english.
“hey, i’m sorry did i hurt you?” he said. I smiled and said “it’s okay, i’m fine.” And i got up and payed the old man for the record. “Nice record huh?” he said smiling. I smiled back and said “Great band, i’m the type who loves old school music!”. He smiled and said “i know all about it! Have a nice day though!”. But when he turned around he immediately turned back and said,
“can i offer you a drink? To make up for punching you to the ground?” the young man asked carefully. I felt my cheeks getting red and warm. I’m like what 10 hours in Finland and i’m already being asked to go for a drink.
The young man really seemed to feel sorry and he looked nice. So i said “yeah sure, why not”. The young man started smiling and said “i know a café near here, let’s go there”. I nodded, it was fine by me. During the walk we did not really talk. I guess we were both nervous. When we came there he asked “Do you want to sit inside or outside?”. I said carefully “outside please, then i can smoke, but if you don’t want to i can wait until i’m back in my hotel!
He smiled and said “no problem, i smoke to.” And sat down at the nearest table.
I also sat down and he said “ how rude i haven’t asked your name yet!”. So i said “it’s Lisa and what’s your name?”.
He smiled and said “Nice name, i’m Lauri”. “where are you from?” he curiously asked. I saw him smiling and i said “i live in The Netherlands”.
The waitress asked us something, so i looked a bit confused. I hadn’t got used to the language yet , probably Lauri saw that and said “she asked what we want, anything you want to eat or drink?”
“euhm, i just want some tea please, i can use something hot”. “your sure?” he said. I nodded. He then ordered in finnish and the waitress went inside again.
“i guess it’s your first time here?” Lauri asked. I smiled and said “yeah, i’ve been saving money for a long time before i could come here. My parents used to talk about here. You know, beautiful landscape, nice people, culture and music, so i figured i had to come here and my friends came with me!”
I saw he was listening and i smiled again. The waitress brought our drinks, Lauri had taken a coffee and passed my tea to me. “but if you want i can show you around here!”. He said. I smiled and said “you know that sounds wonderful, but i’m here with my friends”.
“they can come with us to, then i will bring my friends too!” Lauri said. I thought about it, i almost wanted to say no but then i figured i would get death glares if i wouldn’t accept it. Especially when it’s a really hot guy!
“you know what, that sounds perfectly!” i said. Then my phone started ringing. Omg ofcourse! The girls, they probably wondering why i haven’t been back yet!
After minute or so i hang up the phone, i didn’t wanted to embarrass him. “My friends were wondering why i wasn’t back yet, i have been away for 2 whole hours already!” i said. “i’ll bring you back to your hotel then”. Lauri said. I sighed and said “good, because i have forgotten how to get back to the hotel”.
“which hotel are you staying?”. “Hellsten Helsinki Senate” i said. “Okay, i’ll bring you back, don’t worry”. He payed the bill. He was really persevering on him paying, so i admitted because i didn’t wanted to be ungrateful.
Then we went to the hotel, instead of not talking as on the way to the café, we exactly did talk. It was quiet entertaining. We where in no time at the hotel. Lauri persisted on bringing me to the door and so he did. When i opened the door i saw the girls waiting for me and looking at Lauri.
Lauri asked them if they wanted to see Helsinki and if it was okay if he brought his friends to. They agreed with him and we would go next morning. We said goodbye and Lauri went home.
When i turned around there were 3 girls looking at me with big eyes. I felt my cheeks getting red and Tara said “Really Lisa? Already? That’s not like you at all!”
“i could not help it! He punched me to the ground, offered me something to drink and then i forgat how to walk back...”. i said quickly and i almost run over my own words.
The girls started laughing and said “don’t worry he’s bringing his friends tomorrow!”. I sighed and said “BEHAVE TOMORROW, I KNOW YOU ALL!”. They started laughing even more.
Later that evening we went out for something to eat and stopped by at a café to drink. It was late in the evening when we got back at the hotel. When i finally got into my bed i fell asleep real quick.
*BANG, BANG*
“Huh? Who was banging on the door this early?!”. I thought.
I growled and got up i slowly walked to the door. Almost immediately the banging start again. So i threw the door opened and said “What?” and my eyes got big when i saw who it was.
We overslept and Lauri was standing on my front door seeing me in my pajamas. “Your okay?, we can also go on a other day” he carefully said.
My rage about getting out of bed early flew away and said “we have overslept, don’t worry, i’ll wake them up. How late is it anyway?”.
Lauri smiled and said “12 o’clock”. My eyes got big again i guess, because he started laughing. Then i felt rude i hadn’t let him in yet and i was still standing there in my pajamas like a fool. “You know what come in, i’ll get the girls dressed real quick!”
I left him in the livingroom and i started yelling in dutch. “GIRLS, WAKE UP WE ARE TO LATE, GET DRESSED IN 30 MINUTES!”
*BANG* someone fell out of bed i guess. It was Lianne. She opened the door and said in dutch “DAMN YOU! DON’T YELL THAT LOUD! I’TS STILL EARLY!!”
I couldn’t do anything but saying “It’s already 12 0’clock... believe me i didn’t knew it to until Lauri banged on the door...”. Lianne her eyes got big and said “30 minutes?”. I nodded. That was something we agreed about when we were to late in highschool. Be done in 30 minutes or don’t go at all.
Lauri must have been laughing because when i wanted to go back to him, i saw him quickly turning his head. He must have guessed what we were saying.
So i said “In 30 minutes or so where done”. “perfect, i tell the guys. They are waiting in the car”. He said. I frowned and said “Let them in, they can’t wait that long in the car”.
“you’re sure? I mean we do not want to bother you girls”. He said. I nodded and said “Don’t worry, there is going to be a dress up show, enjoy it!”. Now i saw him frowning and i smiled and said “you’ll see in a few seconds”.
And when i exactly said that Tara and Lianne started running through the room. Lianne was a bit quicker into the bathroom. And Tara started banging onto the door. Then she saw Lauri was there and she went quickly back into her room. I started laughing and said “Now you know!”.
“Just go dress yourself! I’ll be fine and let the guys in!”. Lauri said with a smile. I thanked him and went quickly into my room. Then it hitted me. “OMG, what am i going to wair?”. I started unpacking my suitcase and threw all of my clothes out of it. I started pulling on some clothes.
That ‘s not it. Something else then? No not to neat. Or... i can where a skirt with a blouse or something? No what if we are going to do something active? Okay definitely a jeans then, cute top on it and finish it of with a vest? Yeah let’s go with that! Looks good, not to girlish and i can definitely do something active while not embarrassing myself !
I quickly pulled on the clothes and looked around the corner to see if the bathroom was free. At the same time i saw Isabella do that. “Together?” she said. I nodded and we walked through the room. I saw Lauri looking and me felt my cheeks getting red. “damn you, stop that!” i said to myself in my head.
We only had 10 minutes left and i quickly started doing my make up and my hair. I let my hair loose but for sure i did an hairband around my wrist, so when i wanted to i could pull my hair up. Then i did my make up.
Then we were finally ready and we noticed Lauri’s friends. They introduced themselfs as “Pauli, Eero and Aki”. They looked nice and we started talking.
“Shall we go then?”Eero said. We all agreed and went out for a day of fun!
Lauri’s POV
I wrote lyrics into the deepest hours of the night. I couldn’t sleep so i figured that i could use my time writing since i had been blocked for so long.
When it was 30 minutes past 11 O’clock i figured that i could go and pick up the girls. Yesterday evening i told the guys about my plan. They agreed because they hadn’t that much work yet.
Aki picked me, Eero and Pauli up at home and went to the hotel. They figured i had to go inside and get the girls. “i don’t mind”. I thought. I slowly walked inside and got to their room.
I knocked on the door but no one responded. So i banged on the door louder. I waited for a minute i guess and started banging again. Then the door flew open. “What!?”. Lisa said. Then i saw her eyes getting big and her cheeks getting red.
I had to smile in myself, she was standing there in her pajamas and probably dying to get dressed right now. But i was still insecure so i said “Still want to go? We can go another time?”.
Her mood quickly turned. I saw it in her eyes, her eyes were really bright when she was furious and when she calmed down very soft. The green and grey in her eyes was really beautiful.
“No, it’s okay. We overslept. I call the girls. How late is it anyway?”. I had to smile again, she had no clue of time yet. So i said with a smirk “12 O’clock”. Her cheeks got red again and she said “Come in, sit down and we will get dressed”.
“Cool, i tell my friends that your be done and they can wait in the car”. I said.
She frowned and said “they can come in to. They can’t wait in the car”. “No problem by you?” i asked wondered. She nodded. She walked away and then i heard her yelling in her own language in the other room. I had to giggle because i heard a loud bang. Probably someone was shocked by her yelling.
Then she turned her head around the corner and i quickly turned my head, didn’t wanted her to see i was laughing of her, she might not like it... “were done in 30 minutes or so”. “That’s fine be me!” i said.
And amused i saw everyone walking through the room like ants. Now and then with clothing and sometimes with their make-up. Really, girls can do 3 or more things at the same time. Now we know why they are so busy when they are dressing themselves and getting there make up done.
I letted the guys in when they banged on the door. They did the same as i did. Watching the girls. It was a show. We were amazed when they were done. Exactly 30 minutes later.
We then got to the car. “i rented a other car to because we can’t get in a car with 8 people”. Aki said.
“who has a drivers license again?” Eero said. Lisa raised her hand and said “i drive”. Aki threw the keys to her and we got into the cars. Isabel and Tara with Eero and Aki. And me and Pauli with Lisa and Lianne. I was glad though because i really wanted to talk to Lisa again.
She got into the drivers seat and i sat down next to her. Pauli and Lianne got onto the backseat.
“has everyone it’s seatbelt on?” she asked. Pauli and Lianne nodded. Aki drove in front of us and i noticed Pauli and Lianne started talking not noticing us. So i started talking. “Your excited?”. She smiled and said “ofcourse! Where are we going exactly? “
I grinned and said “not telling you! You will see!”. “Bastard” she said. I couldn’t help but smile. She was nice. After a 10 minute drive or so we parked the cars and stood in front of the museum Kiasma.
“what is this?”. Lisa curiously asked. I smiled and said “museum of Modern Art”. As i looked at her a saw her eyes grew big and she said “Awesome! I love this kind of musea!” “let’s go then!”. I said.
We walked in and had been there for a few hours until Pauli started to complain. “Hey i’m hungry let’s go and get something to eat!”. I gave him a death glare, i didn’t wanted to rush Lisa. But she looked up and said “good idea my stomach is rumbling!”
“hey i got a awesome idea, since it’s such good weather today, let’s go to the Seurasaari! The open air museum!. We can get something to eat there and watch squirls.” Aki said.
The girls started jumping and i said “Let’s go then”. 30 minutes later we were sitting in the grass finishing our food. Everyone wanted to look around but i enjoyed the sun in my face and layed down in the grass.
”i’m staying here, to lazy to go for a walk”. “i’ll stay with you if you don’t mind” Lisa said. I smiled and said “sure”. She layed down next to me and closed her eyes. “Well we are going for a walk”. Eero said. And Isabella went with him. Also Aki and Tara seemed to get along and went to watch some squirls. Pauli and Lianne wanted to go get some drinks and also went away.
And then i was alone with Lisa. What should i say. She was laying there with her eyes closed. But i guess she felt i was looking at her and she opened her eyes. She smiled and said “what do you love most of living here in Helsinki?” that was not a hard question. “the music” i said. Now it was my turn i guess so i asked “What do you like to do most?”. She smiled on her turn and said “Singing, but i like to draw to. Those two things i like to do most”.
On her turn she asked “What’s your favorite color?”. “dark blue” i easily answered. I had to think of a question but not for long “Most favorite band?” i asked. She smiled and said “Muse”.
“hey, that’s my favorite band to!” i said enthusiastic.
And then it got some sort of game, we started asking questions to each other, we both asked questions when it was our turn.
It was already evening when the others got back. “Hey, let’s go to a restaurant together” Eero said. We agreed, i was happy to have a little bit more time tonight.
We found a restaurant and got a table for us all. We saw the girls trying to read the menu and we couldn’t help but laugh. Lisa looked at me with her eyebrows raised and i knew what she wanted me to do. Help her reading it. So i started pointing things at the menu and explained to her what it meant and after a while we got what we wanted to eat.
The guys followed my lead and started helping the other girls to. The evening ended with much laughter and practical jokes at a cafe we stranded in after dinner.
We brought the girls back to their hotel. Then i spoke to Lisa. “hey, tomorrow i’m busy but how about the day after tomorrow we go do something? Just the two of us?”. I felt very nervously but so did she i guess. She tripped over her words and said “Sure, what do you want to do?”. I smiled and said “Don’t you worry about that, it will be a surprise!”.
She looked curious but didn’t say anything. “alright, i trust you!” she said.
And with that i went home, butterfly’s in my stomach fluttering. I felt weird, i know her only 2 days. How is that even possible?

That ‘s not it. Something else then? No not to neat. Or... i can where a skirt with a blouse or something? No what if we are going to do something active? Okay definitely a jeans then, cute top on it and finish it of with a vest? Yeah let’s go with that! Looks good, not to girlish and i can definitely do something active while not embarrassing myself !
I quickly pulled on the clothes and looked around the corner to see if the bathroom was free. At the same time i saw Isabella do that. “Together?” she said. I nodded and we walked through the room. I saw Lauri looking and me felt my cheeks getting red. “damn you, stop that!” i said to myself in my head.
We only had 10 minutes left and i quickly started doing my make up and my hair. I let my hair loose but for sure i did an hairband around my wrist, so when i wanted to i could pull my hair up. Then i did my make up.
Then we were finally ready and we noticed Lauri’s friends. They introduced themselfs as “Pauli, Eero and Aki”. They looked nice and we started talking.
“Shall we go then?”Eero said. We all agreed and went out for a day of fun!
Lauri’s POV
I wrote lyrics into the deepest hours of the night. I couldn’t sleep so i figured that i could use my time writing since i had been blocked for so long.
When it was 30 minutes past 11 O’clock i figured that i could go and pick up the girls. Yesterday evening i told the guys about my plan. They agreed because they hadn’t that much work yet.
Aki picked me, Eero and Pauli up at home and went to the hotel. They figured i had to go inside and get the girls. “i don’t mind”. I thought. I slowly walked inside and got to their room.
I knocked on the door but no one responded. So i banged on the door louder. I waited for a minute i guess and started banging again. Then the door flew open. “What!?”. Lisa said. Then i saw her eyes getting big and her cheeks getting red.
I had to smile in myself, she was standing there in her pajamas and probably dying to get dressed right now. But i was still insecure so i said “Still want to go? We can go another time?”.
Her mood quickly turned. I saw it in her eyes, her eyes were really bright when she was furious and when she calmed down very soft. The green and grey in her eyes was really beautiful.
“No, it’s okay. We overslept. I call the girls. How late is it anyway?”. I had to smile again, she had no clue of time yet. So i said with a smirk “12 O’clock”. Her cheeks got red again and she said “Come in, sit down and we will get dressed”.
“Cool, i tell my friends that your be done and they can wait in the car”. I said.
She frowned and said “they can come in to. They can’t wait in the car”. “No problem by you?” i asked wondered. She nodded. She walked away and then i heard her yelling in her own language in the other room. I had to giggle because i heard a loud bang. Probably someone was shocked by her yelling.
Then she turned her head around the corner and i quickly turned my head, didn’t wanted her to see i was laughing of her, she might not like it... “were done in 30 minutes or so”. “That’s fine be me!” i said.
And amused i saw everyone walking through the room like ants. Now and then with clothing and sometimes with their make-up. Really, girls can do 3 or more things at the same time. Now we know why they are so busy when they are dressing themselves and getting there make up done.
I letted the guys in when they banged on the door. They did the same as i did. Watching the girls. It was a show. We were amazed when they were done. Exactly 30 minutes later.
We then got to the car. “i rented a other car to because we can’t get in a car with 8 people”. Aki said.
“who has a drivers license again?” Eero said. Lisa raised her hand and said “i drive”. Aki threw the keys to her and we got into the cars. Isabel and Tara with Eero and Aki. And me and Pauli with Lisa and Lianne. I was glad though because i really wanted to talk to Lisa again.
She got into the drivers seat and i sat down next to her. Pauli and Lianne got onto the backseat.
“has everyone it’s seatbelt on?” she asked. Pauli and Lianne nodded. Aki drove in front of us and i noticed Pauli and Lianne started talking not noticing us. So i started talking. “Your excited?”. She smiled and said “ofcourse! Where are we going exactly? “
I grinned and said “not telling you! You will see!”. “Bastard” she said. I couldn’t help but smile. She was nice. After a 10 minute drive or so we parked the cars and stood in front of the museum Kiasma.
“what is this?”. Lisa curiously asked. I smiled and said “museum of Modern Art”. As i looked at her a saw her eyes grew big and she said “Awesome! I love this kind of musea!” “let’s go then!”. I said.
We walked in and had been there for a few hours until Pauli started to complain. “Hey i’m hungry let’s go and get something to eat!”. I gave him a death glare, i didn’t wanted to rush Lisa. But she looked up and said “good idea my stomach is rumbling!”
“hey i got a awesome idea, since it’s such good weather today, let’s go to the Seurasaari! The open air museum!. We can get something to eat there and watch squirls.” Aki said.
The girls started jumping and i said “Let’s go then”. 30 minutes later we were sitting in the grass finishing our food. Everyone wanted to look around but i enjoyed the sun in my face and layed down in the grass.
”i’m staying here, to lazy to go for a walk”. “i’ll stay with you if you don’t mind” Lisa said. I smiled and said “sure”. She layed down next to me and closed her eyes. “Well we are going for a walk”. Eero said. And Isabella went with him. Also Aki and Tara seemed to get along and went to watch some squirls. Pauli and Lianne wanted to go get some drinks and also went away.
And then i was alone with Lisa. What should i say. She was laying there with her eyes closed. But i guess she felt i was looking at her and she opened her eyes. She smiled and said “what do you love most of living here in Helsinki?” that was not a hard question. “the music” i said. Now it was my turn i guess so i asked “What do you like to do most?”. She smiled on her turn and said “Singing, but i like to draw to. Those two things i like to do most”.
On her turn she asked “What’s your favorite color?”. “dark blue” i easily answered. I had to think of a question but not for long “Most favorite band?” i asked. She smiled and said “Muse”.
“hey, that’s my favorite band to!” i said enthusiastic.
And then it got some sort of game, we started asking questions to each other, we both asked questions when it was our turn.
It was already evening when the others got back. “Hey, let’s go to a restaurant together” Eero said. We agreed, i was happy to have a little bit more time tonight.
We found a restaurant and got a table for us all. We saw the girls trying to read the menu and we couldn’t help but laugh. Lisa looked at me with her eyebrows raised and i knew what she wanted me to do. Help her reading it. So i started pointing things at the menu and explained to her what it meant and after a while we got what we wanted to eat.
The guys followed my lead and started helping the other girls to. The evening ended with much laughter and practical jokes at a cafe we stranded in after dinner.
We brought the girls back to their hotel. Then i spoke to Lisa. “hey, tomorrow i’m busy but how about the day after tomorrow we go do something? Just the two of us?”. I felt very nervously but so did she i guess. She tripped over her words and said “Sure, what do you want to do?”. I smiled and said “Don’t you worry about that, it will be a surprise!”.
She looked curious but didn’t say anything. “alright, i trust you!” she said.
And with that i went home, butterfly’s in my stomach fluttering. I felt weird, i know her only 2 days. How is that even possible?
