Everything Goes Dark

PJ's POV

I stood in the hallway chewing my lip and fiddling with the hem of my jumper getting more agitated as time went on, I stepped from foot to foot, time dragging by slowly.

To be perfectly honest I didn't even know what I was hoping for, but there was something about the two ungodly blue lines appearing that filled me with dread, I didn't have a paternal cell in my body and couldn't care less about cooing over a shreiking pink lump, even when Phil had Skye I wasn't interested and he was my best friend.

A few loud sniffled from behind the door stopped my train of thought, I stood up straight and turned on my heels before shouting through the solid wood

"Ams? are you okay?"

The door opened slightly and she poked her tear stained face around the door, her grey eyes locked with mine, I raised my eyebrows a little trying to drag a response from her thin pink lips, she sighed loudly and tucked a strand of her long straight mousey hair behind her pierced ear, her boney arm shot out and rammed the long thin blue and white wand in my hands.

I looked down at the plastic window to see two blue lines staring back at me, my heart came in to my mouth and a nausea washed over me. I knocked on the bathroom door and gently pushed it open to see Amelia's long lank frame in the empty bath tub she looked over at me a smile slowly spread across her face

"We did it Peej, we actually did it"

I nodded not knowing what to say, she lept put of the tub and threw herself at me wrapping her long dainty legs around my waist,

"I'm going to be a mummy"

She cried in to my shoulder in pure euphoria,

"Yeah fantastic"

I whispered, this isn't what I wanted.
