For The Sake Of Our Country.

Chapter 1

I don’t know how it happened, but I’m running. Running to get away. Away from the mostri. Last thing I remember is hearing footsteps down into our safe house. Everything from then after is a blur.

Here’s what happened: a few years back the world went into chaos because of a man named Donald S. Way, also known as The Capo. (‘The Capo’ is a loose translation meaning ‘boss’ in Italian, which the Ways are). This man decided that some people shouldn’t do certain jobs, so he shut them down, he then thought that some music shouldn’t be played (e.g. classical) so he banned that. It kept on getting worse and worse until he thought that some religions shouldn’t be allowed so unless the people were able to give their religion up, he would shoot them. It took a few years for it to escalate to this; however, over these many years he was building an army and training them. Training to kill. It was secret and uncover so nobody knew what was happening during that time. I believe he has manipulated his army – using drugs – to believe in what he says 100%.

The mostri is made up of 3 categories, 1) the normal human soldiers 2) men dressed in bullet-proof suits that are blue and as thick as a book 3) the yellow sucking monsters. They have a hole as the mouth and it sucks in air like a vacuum. If you get caught in the suction it is almost impossible to get away and then these yellow people can kill you with the knife in their pockets.

The Capo also has a son who is idolised by the many rich teenagers who parents have paid to them money so they wont be killed. I heard of a rumor of another son, but that’s all it is, I guess, a rumour.

So now I’m running, into old coffee shops through the back door just looking for a safe place to get to. I enter an old safe house, which isn’t safe anymore but I have a plan.

As all safe houses do, there is a locked safe with guns and other equipment in, oh I forgot to say that for some strange reason The Capo doesn’t believe in guns. But anyway, I open the safe – in our town we all use the same 18 digit long number to help everyone out if in trouble. I enter the number and I watch as it slowly creaks open. A spider quickly runs across the knife and I shiver – I’m being chased by things that can kill me and I worrying about spiders more, how does that work? I put a gun and knife in my pocket before grabbing the baseball bat and closing the safe door.

I creep towards a pillar and hide behind it listening to the sounds above me. After not too long I hear the mostri run down the stairs into the safe house and banging the door open. I sturdy my grip on the bat as I hear the footsteps grow closer. At just the right time I jump round and hit the soldier onto the floor and giving him a kick where it hurts to keep him there for longer. I see two yellow mostri looking away from me.

As I get closer the sound of them becomes nearly deafening, like one of them old hair dryers. I stand behind them and tap them simultaneously on their inside shoulder. As they both turn around I quickly grab their heads and shove them together so the suction is holding them together tightly. I see a shine from the corner of my eye so I look over and lying there is a spear, I grab it and push it through the middle of both of the yellow mostri. I run back to the soldier and slit his throat before running out of the safe house and start going north.

I run until the sun begins to set and I find a safe house which looks like it hasn’t been abandoned for too long. I make sure I lock the doors behind me and I enter the kitchen. I look through the cabinets trying to find food. I find a can of beans – still in date - and a few old tortilla chips. I cook the beans and I take them, with the tortillas, over to the bed and sit down. I let out a deep breath I didn’t even know I had been holding at the amazing feeling of finally sitting down after a long day. I eat the food slowly, savoring its glory but before long it’s all gone and I’m feeling extremely tired. I crawl back under the sheets and quickly fall into a light sleep. It’s what I’ve instinctively learned to do; I need to be able to wake up at all times in case of an attack. Hopefully that won’t be occurring any time soon for me.
♠ ♠ ♠
This is a short chapter but the rest will be longer. This story is based off a dream i had so i decided to adapt it into a fanfiction. I have wrote about 2 more chapters but i have missed out two chapters from this first one and them. So i'm going to try and write the next chapter(s) but they wont become very interesting until the ones that i have wrote. But i am not going to leave this story like my others as i have planned it all out and know exactly what to do.
So yeah, tell me if you liked it and i will update sooner!
thank you:)
