Chapter 5

After their first date went so well Stacy and Adam started spending a lot of time together, she spent almost all of her days off with him. They knew that sometime in the near future Adam would have to leave on tour and she would be stuck in L.A. missing him. The couple had made it official and wanted to get as much time together as possible until their long distance relationship began for a few months.

“I promised my grandma I would take her out to lunch today, did you want to come with?” Stacy asked Adam. She was currently standing in her mirror putting the finishing touches on her make-up while Adam lay on the bed, fully dressed and ready for the day, watching her.

“So you won’t tell your family that we’re dating but you’ll take me to meet your grandma?” Adam asked as he watched his girlfriend slip into black gladiator sandals. She was wearing a pair of rolled up, cropped boyfriend jeans with a striped black and white tank top, with a black blazer over it.

“My grandma won’t say anything to them,” Stacy smiled at him as he stood from the bed. “I take her out for lunch every other week. I’ve always been incredibly close with her so if she doesn’t like you, I can’t date you.”

Adam started laughing, “Oh really?”

Stacy nodded, “Yeah, think of it like a weeding process.” She winked at her boyfriend and started to exit the room. As she walked past him he slipped his arm around her waist and brought her back to him.

“I guess I better be on my best behavior then,” He gave her a devilish grin and wiggled his eyebrows at her.

Stacy giggled, “I guess so!”

Adam leaned in and kissed her, it was soft at first but then he pulled her tight against him and slipped his tongue inside her mouth. He slid his hands down to cup her bottom, allowing her to feel his erection against her thigh. He knew he was getting to her when she let out a low moan; she was melting in his hands. He started to inch her back towards the bed before she pulled away, gasping for air.

“Adam! We are going to be late picking up my grandma if we don’t leave now!” She stomped her foot on the ground, giving him a frustrated look.

“Sorry, sorry! Just wanted to show you my BEST behavior,” He grinned at her and she huffed.

“You can show me later,” She smirked at him, leaning in to kiss him once more before pulling him out of her bedroom.

They made it to her grandma’s house just in time. Stacy got out of the car and waited for Adam before the continued up the walk way to her grandma’s front door.

“I’m kind of nervous now that we’re here,” Adam said quietly.

“You’re kidding right?” She laughed, looking over at him.

“Well you said she was important to you! What if she doesn’t like me?” He was completely serious.

“She’s going to love you, just relax.” She smiled at him and took his hand with hers.
Stacy knocked on the front door before opening it and letting herself in.

“Grandma!” Stacy called, waiting for a response.

“In the kitchen dear!” An elderly woman’s voice could be heard from somewhere within the house.

“You can leave your shoes on,” Stacy told Adam as he bent down to untie his boots.

She led the way to the kitchen and Adam watched as she embraced an older woman, taller than she was. The gray haired woman stood about 5’7” and she had a very kind face.

“You look wonderful! How have you been?” Stacy’s grandma gushed as she hugged her granddaughter. “Oh and you brought a friend!”

Stacy smiled at her grandma, “Grandma, this is my boyfriend Adam.” She then turned to Adam, “Adam this is my Grandma, Vi.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Adam,” Viola grinned at her granddaughter.

“The pleasure is all mine,” Adam said sincerely, shaking the older woman’s hand.

“He’s cute and he’s got manners.” Vi winked at Stacy, making Adam blush.

“You’re the first to meet him Gram, I haven’t even told the rest of the family that I’m dating so please don’t tell anyone.” Stacy told her grandma.

“Your secret is safe with me, I’m the one you have to worry about anyways!” Viola laughed.

“I told him that he had to pass the test of meeting you first before I took him home to mom and dad, you need to approve of him!” Stacy laughed along with her grandma and Adam couldn’t help but notice how her eyes sparkled when she was with her. He had never been very close to his grandparent.

“Well should we head out?” Stacy asked.

“I think we should!” Viola picked up her purse from the kitchen counter and linked arms with her granddaughter.

The threesome went to lunch at a local café and spent almost three hours there, talking and laughing. Adam couldn’t believe how much fun Stacy’s grandma was. They each had a couple glasses of wine with lunch and the conversation flowed freely until Viola looked at her watch.

“Oh goodness! It’s nearly four o’clock! I have ladies coming over at five for cards!” She looked around for the waiter and waved him over, asking for the check.

“Time flies when you’re having fun,” Stacy smiled at Adam who squeezed her hand gently.

When the waiter brought over the check Adam reached for it, attempting to pay for the meal.

“You better not,” Viola gave him a knowing look.

Adam held his hands up in defense. “Yes ma’am!”

“Just because you’re a big rock star doesn’t mean an old lady can’t take you out to lunch!” Viola smirked at the young couple.

Stacy couldn’t help but laugh, it was clear that her grandma liked Adam, something for which she was thankful.

After they dropped her grandma off at home the two went to Adam’s place for the night.

“Your grandma was amazing.” He said as they pulled up to his house.

Stacy nodded, “She’s my inspiration. I want to be just like her, she’s so full of life.”

“I’d say you’re on the right track.” Adam smiled at her.

They got back to Adam’s house and decided to sit on his deck with a drink as the sun started to set.

“It’d be a nice night for a ride on my bike,” Adam said, thoughtfully.

“You have a motorcycle?” Stacy asked, surprised. She hadn’t seen him use it before and he’s never mentioned it.

“Hell yeah, I love it.” Adam nodded.

“I wrote a paper in nursing school about motorcycles and head injuries caused by not wearing helmets.” Stacy said.

Adam let out a laugh, “Well I guess it’s a good thing I wear one then.”

Stacy nodded.

“Want to go for a ride with me?” He asked her.

Stacy studied him carefully, “I’m not so sure. I’ve never wanted to go on one before; I’m actually scared of them.”

“You’re scared of them? What for?” Adam asked, sitting up and leaning forward, getting a good look at her.

“My aunt rode one with a man once and ended up with a horrible burn on her leg.” Stacy informed him.

“Did she ride it with shorts on?” Adam asked. Stacy nodded. “Well that’s why! You have to be smart about it, just roll your jeans down. I still have those black boots here that you left last week, just wear those and you won’t have any trouble.”

Stacy thought about it for another minute before finally agreeing. “Fine, but you have to go slow!”

“I’ll take only back roads and I’ll take it easy, I promise!” Adam grinned before jumping up out of his chair. “I’m going to go change and get my bike ready. Just change and meet me outside.”

Stacy took her time going to the bathroom and changing for the ride. She slowly walked out into the garage and stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Adam. He was wearing tight jeans with riding boots, a white t-shirt, and a black leather jacket. She watched him as he sat on his bike and started it up, she had never been attracted to the ‘bad boy’ look before but right now, it was definitely doing it for her.

“Holy shit,” Stacy said under her breath as she walked into the garage, closer to where Adam was standing.

He looked up at her, “What?”

“Mr. Levine, a leather jacket and motorcycle certainly suit you!” Stacy raised an eyebrow at Adam.

Adam climbed off the bike and moved towards her, “Yeah? I can’t wait to see you on the back of my bike, you look pretty sexy with your boots on and your little leather jacket.”

Stacy grinned at him, their relationship was amazing, but their sexual chemistry was unnatural. They were drawn to one another; just the sight of Adam made her want to tear his clothes off.

She gasped as he roughly pulled her against him, “Do you like the bad boy look darling?”

She couldn’t even respond, she just nodded, her breath caught in her throat.

Adam leaned down and kissed her, his hot breath mingling with hers. “Let’s go for a ride!” He kissed her once more before pulling her to his bike.

Adam got on the bike and kick started in again before allowing her to climb on behind him. He balanced the bike as he handed her a helmet to put on, also placing one on his own head.

“Ready?” Adam yelled over the noise of the bike. Stacy nodded in response, wrapping her arms tightly around his mid-section.

Adam revved the engine before slowly moving the bike down his long driveway and onto the streets of the city. He took them a long way around that went by the beach where he slowly came to a stop and parked his bike.

“I thought we could walk along the beach before it got too dark.” He told her. She thought it was a great idea and joined him in slipping off her boots.

Adam was more romantic than any other man she dated; she enjoyed his thoughtful ideas and how well he treated her. She couldn’t wait to see where the future takes them.

The couple sat on the cool sand, watching the sun set. Adam had his arm around her as she placed her head on his shoulder.

Stacy sighed in contentment; Adam noticed and glanced down at her. “Everything alright?”

“Everything is amazing,” She said softly. “I can’t believe how lucky I am.”

“I feel the same way,” Adam spoke, “I know it’s only been about a month but I’ve never had feelings for someone like this.”

“I think it helps we’ve known each other forever,” Stacy was right, they had known each other since she was 10 and he was 16.

After the sun had set below the ocean the two made their way back to Adam’s bike, getting their boots back on along with their helmets and heading back to his place for the night.
