Juliet’s POV

Andy just left for work, while I was left cleaning the kitchen. I actually only work at Dairy Queens on Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. So today I didn’t have to go to work. I wanted to go lay in bed all day, but I decided to instead be productive, so I gathered all the dirty clothes and put them in the washing machine. While they were being washed I began dusting the furniture then vacuuming the rest of the apartment. Luckily because this place is pretty small, it didn’t take me very long.

RING RING RING!

I slowly got off the comfy sofa and made my way over to the phone.

“Hello” I asked.

“Hey!! Juliet guess who just got a job at the mall?!”

“I’m guessing you did Lily”

“Yep! I’m super excited, oh and guess where I’ll be working???”

“I don’t know”

“Come on at least guess”

“Umm, the Hot Topic or something?”

“LOL! Nope I’m gonna be working at th- WAIT A MINUTE, I am going to be working at Hot Topic! How did you guess?”

“Oh Lily, it’s time that you know… I’m psychic” I started to laugh and I heard Lily laughing in the background as well. That’s great; she’s going to be working at one of her favorite stores on earth. Wait a minute?

“Hey um, Lily. If you’re going to be working there, does this mean you quit your job at Dairy Queen?”

“Ya, I quit as soon as I found out I got the other job.”

“So who’s going to drive me to work on Wednesday?”

“You can always take the bus or something.”

I used to take the bus ALL the time before Lily started driving me to work.

“I guess I could, but now we don’t get to see each other all the time...” I said while poking my lower lip out. Why? I don’t even know, it’s not like she can see me.

“Well, since today you don’t have to go to work, do you want to go shopping with me?”

“Sure I’d love to.”

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

“Umm Lily, give me minute, someone’s at the door.”

I set the phone down and made my way over to the door.

“Who is it?”

“It’s me, Lara.” I quickly unlocked the door and opened it, which revealed Lara with a wide smile on her face and a large bouquet of flowers.

“Hey, Juliet. To say sorry for the whole ‘Andy’ thing, I got you these flowers.” She handed them to me. There were stargazer lilies, pink chrysanthemums and a bunch of beautiful wild flowers all together in a pink vase. It was magnificent.

“I’m speechless, these are so beautiful! Thank you.”

“It was nothing really. Um... so I’ll just go now.” She said with a frown as she swiftly walked back to her apartment.

“Hey Lara wait!” I had to quickly place the vase down on the coffee table before turning and running out the door. I began knocking mercilessly on her door. She was in such a hurry; I hope I didn’t do anything to upset her.

The door swung open and there stood Lara with a few stray tears falling down her face. “What’s wrong, why were you in such a hurry?” I said with a sympathetic look.

“I’m sorry. It’s just that.” She paused for a moment. “I was way outta line to talk about how cute I thought YOUR boyfriend is, I’m really sorry.”

??? “Lara, I already told you that it was okay. Now I know that something else is wrong or else you wouldn’t have left that fast.”

“Okay, the truth is, I’ve never had a friend before, and you said that you forgave me, I still felt sad and guilty and I couldn’t believe I had messed up another chance to make a friend.”

“Lara. I don’t know what girls you went to school with. But I am not them. Because they must have really been stupid not to be friends with someone as awesome as you.” I said while holding her shoulders in my hands and smiling at her. She wiped the tears off her cheeks and looked at me one last time.

“Thank you, so does that mean we can be friends?”

I laughed at how sweet she is. “Of course we can be friends, and you know what friends do together?”

“What?” she asked with a puzzled look on her face.

“They go shopping together!”

“YAY!” She grabbed me in a tight hug and started jumping up and down while not letting go. Usually I would have made her stop, but I’ll let it slide, especially because she’s never had a friend before. Then it hit me. I WAS STILL ON HOLD WITH LILY!!!

I had just come home after going to the mall with Lily and Lara. It was one of the funniest days of my life! And while I was there, I had seen the most amazing necklace ever. It was a silver necklace with a small padlock and key dangling on it, and on the key were the words “You forever hold my heart”. I had gotten it for Andy, because our 2 year anniversary was coming up soon, and I want to give this to him.

Speaking of which, where is Andy, I thought he’d be home by now? I pull out my cell phone and check for any missed called. There was 1 new message and it was from my White Rabbit. “Hey babe. I’m going to be pretty late; the new assistant manager wants me to stick around longer. Love you; I’ll be home as soon as possible. Bye” oh great, ANOTHER assistant manager, I remember the last one Andy told me about had stolen his wallet, jacket, and watch. I hope this one doesn’t cause any trouble.
