Always Anyways...
Prologue: A Dream
How I wish...How I wish this dream was ours. As I sat in the tower, and the minstrel's song gently floated up and into my window, the music caressed me softly. How I long for our lives to be this simple. How I wish I would be free to dream these sweet words. To just fly to your castle and lay down with you...how simple and yet how impossible.
Instead these words make me sad, sad for I know my life will never have such peace. I may never have a sweet love and gentle peace like this again. My dreams are fractured and shattered, and I fear that even my dream of you is the same. I will bid the minstrel to sing it once again...as I close my eyes, letting the gentle breeze caresses my face. I will wish that this young love's dream was my own. It never will be...
My young love said to me
my mother won't mind
and my father won't slight you
for your lack of kind
And she stepped away from me
and this she did say
it will not be long love
'till our wedding day
She stepped away from me
and she moved through the fair
and fondly I watched her
move here and move there
And when she went homeward
with one star awake
as the swan in the evening
moves over the lake
Last night she came to me
and she came softly in
so softly she came that
her feet made no din
And she laid her hand on me
and this she did say
it will not be long love
'till our wedding day
It will not be long love
'till our wedding day
If I were an eagle
and had wings to fly
I would fly to my love's castle
and it's there I would lie
On that bed of green ivy
I would lay myself down
And it's with my two fond wings
I would my love surround
And it's with my two fond wings
I would my love surround
