Black Winter.

I will keep quiet

I storm into Ivan’s office, earning an all knowing smirk to form on his lips; he knew our journey would lead us back to him. “I’m going to ask this as nice as I possibly can; where are the girls?”

“You’re not going to stop them, Natalia, their mission has begun. Red Dawn and Black Winter are out there and dangerous.” Ivan informs me, “Plague was just the first step in the mission; she’s the one that holds all the less significant information. Red Dawn holds enough the most information to day but once she finds Black Winter; there is no way my plan can fail.” I feel myself lunge towards him; only to be pulled back by Bucky.

“He doesn’t know does he?” Ivan says, pointing to Bucky.

“I fail to see how that has anything to do with whatever you have planned.” I scoff as Bucky lets me go. I turn around and see him giving me a questioning look.

“What’s he talking about, Nat?” He asks, “what don’t I know?”

“Whatever he’s talking about has nothing to do with the mission; I promise you.” I assure him, “let’s get keep focused.”

“I picked Red Dawn and Black Winter for a specific reason. Red Dawn is from a family of Sleeper Agents and Spetsnaz.” Ivan explains, “fighting is in her blood and she’s almost unstoppable.”

“What about Black Winter?” Bucky asks, “why is she so special?”

“She’s the rarest of them all,” Ivan smiles, “she’s the daughter of a Black Widow and a Russian assassin. And right now, she’s somewhere in the United States, waiting for the word…”

I sit outside a well camouflaged building with a cup of coffee in my hand. Dmitri sits down next to me, resting his arms on the back of the bench. A sigh escapes his lips causing me to look at him, “what’s wrong with you?”

“You think you’re prepared enough for this?” He asks, “are you sure your ready to go undercover?”

“I don’t have much of a choice.” I sigh before talking a sip of my lukewarm coffee, “I’m due to get the word any day now.” This mission has me nervous behind measure, but I can’t let Dmitri know that; he’ll call everything we’ve set up off and Ivan will get pissed. And that’s one Russian you don’t want pissed off; he gets scary.

“You’re just nervous about calling everything off, aren’t you?” He questions me, “I’m sure my uncle wouldn’t mind.”

“Have you met your uncle?” I let out a humorless chuckle, “I’ve seen people get killed for a lot less; he’ll go ballistic if I pull out now.”

“You’re going to be fine, just think of this like any other mission you’ve been on.” He suggests, “it should be easy for you.”

“All my other missions didn’t involve an agency that’ll shot first and ask questions later if they find out I’m a spy.” I sigh, “so I’m sorry that I’m a little worried; especially since my spying skills aren’t that amazing.”

“You don’t think my uncle did this on purpose, do you?” Dmitri asks, “you don’t think that you’re the catalyst, do you? Is this why you’re so nervous?”

“I’m something, that’s all I know.” I explain to him, “I’m just afraid this’ll be my last mission. I know us Black Widows shouldn’t fear death, but I actually do. I don’t want to die, especially on a mission I know nothing about. No one knows what’s going on in your uncle head. That should make everyone nervous, especially SHIELD…”

Dmitri is about to open his mouth when a dark haired, pale skinned girl walks up to us wearing a red cloak; bright red. She stops in front of me and removes the hood. Her bright blue eyes look down at me before pulling a folder out of her cloak and handing it to me. With a silent goodbye, she walks away.

“Делу время, потехе час.” Dmitri reads aloud.

“Time for Business, an hour for fun.” I translate before opening the folder which contains more important information about what I’m suppose to do. “Tomorrow is possibly D-day; the important question is are you ready for this?”

“As ready as you are.” Dmitri smiles as I close up the folder and shove it into my bag. Both of us get up off the bench and start towards my dumpy studio apartment; it’s time to prepare…
