Best Places to Be a Mom

-Fast forward to Friday-

Today was the day some of Melodys family were coming to stay for a week, i was pretty nervous to say the least. She told me they were gonna arrive sometime after she got home, at least i didnt have to be with them alone. Later Jack was over and we were all in the kitchen and then we heard a knock on the door.

"Shit!" Jack yelled

"Dont be a idiot" i said

"Will you two stop" Melody said and then went to answer the door

"They look like they'd hate me" Jack said as Melody and her family talked

"Mhm" i said

"Lex, you remember my aunt Lee, my cousin Amy and my uncle Mike. Right?" Melody said walking in the room

"Yep. Hey everyone" i said

"Hey" they said

"And this is Jack, hes Alexs friend slash bandmate" Melody said and they said hi and Jack just waved

"Melody, Alex. Thanks again for letting us stay here" her aunt Lee said

"No problem" we said

"You'll be staying in our basement. Its really nice down there its fully furnished" Melody said

"Okay" her aunt said

"Uhmm...can i sleepover?" Jack asked me

"If you want. You get the couch or the baby room floor" i said and Melody and everyone just stared at me

"Baby room sounds fun" he said and backed away from the group

"Fucking hell Alex" Melody said

"Whats going on?, whats this about a baby?" Lee asked

"Well...you see...im pregnant. About four months" Melody said

"Really?. When did you two get married?" Lee asked

"We didn't" Melody said

"Oh, i see" Lee said

"Yeah. Were really excited" Melody said and i put my chin on top of her head and hugged her from behind

"Oh. Well thats really awesome, congrats" Lee said

"Thanks" we said

Everything just seemed to be really awkward after we told them about the baby, but it did start to get less awkward when we all just sat around to talk. Jack slept over but slept on the couch instead of the nursery floor. The next morning i walked out to the kitchen and Melody was making breakfast.

"Hey babe" i said going behind Melody and hugging her from behind

"Hey, your up late" she said

"Mmm. Couldnt really sleep" i said

"To bad" she said

"Yep" i said

"God Alex. For real?" Jack said walking in the room

"What did he do?" Melody asked

"Look for yourself" he said and she turned around and looked at me and blushed

"Alex...go get some clothes on" she said, i was in just my underwear. Guess she felt weird about it since her aunt, uncle and cousin were here

"But its so hot out" i said, it was like 90 degrees today

"I know, just...just go get some shorts on or something" she said

"Fine. I dont see why its such a big deal, its not like i woke up with a boner" i said

"Alex!" she said and Jack just shook his head

"Sorry. Guess its gonna take me some time to get used to being not gross all the time" i said and she nodded

"And dont take forever. Were going to the beach today" she said

"Fine. As long as i can take Rian and Zack" i said

"You have me!" Jack said

"Soooo?" i said

"Fine. Just got get some clothes on" she said and i left the room

I called Rian and Zack and they both said they'd meet us at the beach. We all drove together in one car, which made me feel very very awkward. When we got to the beach Rian and Zack were already waiting for us.

"Hey!" i said

"Hey" they said

"You guys got here pretty fast" Melody said

"Well i mean we both live pretty close by" Zack said, so true

"Oh, right. Well anyways, this is my aunt Lee, my cousin Amy and my uncle Mike. You guys this is Rian and Zack their friends of Alex and Jack and their also in their band" Melody said introducing everyone to eachother

"Hey" they all said and Zack and Rian said hi back

"So. Anything fun happening in the world of All Time Low that i dont know about?" Melody asked sitting next to Rian

"Well we have a show tomorrow night" Zack said

"Really?" she said

"Yep" he said

"Oh man, Amy you should totally come to the show!" she said

"Uhmm...i dont know" Amy said

"Come on your 14. Have you been to one?" Melody asked

"No" Amy said

"Oh my god, you have to come!. How many kids can say they got to be backstage and hangout with everyone in all the bands at their first concert?!" Melody said

"Well...i guess i'll go, ive always wanted to go to one" Amy said, Amy isnt like her parents at all. She doesnt embrace the religion type stuff

"Thats the spirit!" Melody said

"Wait a minute. How late will this concert be?" Lee asked

"Until like 11" i said

"Okay...i guess she can go. But Melody, keep a eye on her" Lee said

"I absolutely will!" Melody said

"Good" Lee said

"Yay!, your gonna have so much fun!. They put such a good show on and Alex has such a amazing voice" Melody said, her cousin and aunt and uncle never heard my singing voice before

"Aww i do?" i asked

"Yes you do" she said as i sat next to her

"Your so sweet" i said kissing her

"Love you Lex" she said putting her head on my shoulder

"PDA!!!!" Jack said

"Shut the hell up" i said

"Im going in the water, come with me Amy?" Melody said

"Sure" Amy said and they went into the water

"Well at least i still have my second love" i said leaning on Rian and he laughed and put his arm around me

I hung out on land for a little while longer before going in the water, it was so nice and cool. Jack came in as well and kept trying to shove my head underwater. After being in there for a while i got out and was headed for shore when Mike stopped me.

"Hey Alex will you come with me for a walk. I wanna talk to you" he said

"I uhh...alright" i said and we started walking down the beach

"So i just wanted to talk to you about Melody" he said

"Okay?" i said confused

"I just wanted to talk to you and make sure your doing your part in this pregnancy. Like going to appointments and what not" he said

"I have been to every appointment except one" i said

"Good. And are you treating her right?, shes like a daughter to me and i just wanna know your being a good guy" he said

"Oh absolutely" i said

"Good. Otherwise i'd have to hurt you" he said

"I understand" i laughed slightly

"So i mean when the baby comes are you going to be around for a while. I know your in a band and everything" he said

"I will be. Im taking a year off to just be there" i said

"Good. So you wont be working at all while off?" he asked

"I will be but i'll just be doing album stuff. If we do any kind of tour it wont be like months long like other tours" i said

"Thats good to hear" he said

"Yep" i said

We walked and talked for a little while longer, it was nice to see that he didnt wanna murder me. After a while we headed back to everyone and Melody was on land sitting with Zack. I looked out to the water and saw Jack trying to pick up Rian.

"Hey, did you guys have fun?" Melody asked me

"Yeah" i said

"Did you have a nice chat?" she asked

"We did" i said

"I hope you didnt threaten him to bad" she said to Mike

"I didn't, i promise" Mike said

"Good" she said

"Yeah, we just had a talk about everything it was-" i started but was cut off as someone ran up and pulled my pants down

"Jack what the fuck!?" Zack said and threw a towel at me and Melody covered Amys face

"Douche" i said as Jack sat on the ground next to me and was pissing himself in laughter. I put the towel around me quick

"I fucking wish i could've seen your face!" Jack said

"I hate you so much!" i said

"Theres children here!" Melody said

"Oops" Jack said laughing harder and i kicked him in the balls

"Bitch" i said

"You suck so hard!" Jack said getting into the fetal position
