Best Places to Be a Mom

Alexs POV:
We raced Melody to the hospital and i was a wreck, i was so nervous it was insane. While Rian drove i called our parents and everyone else and our parents said they'd meet us there. When we got to the hospital a nurse took us to a room and Melody got changed and got into a bed and tried to get comfy.

"Fucking hurts" Melody said gripping the bed railing

"Its okay babe" i said sitting in the chair next to her and i ran my fingers through her hair

"Is my mom coming?" she asked

"Yes. My parents are coming and so are yours" i said

"Good" she said

"Mhm" i said

"God i wish i could sleep" she said looking over at Rian who was fast asleep on the couch. It was almost 3 am and i was exhausted but doubted i'd fall asleep

"Me to, you should try though. Your gonna need the energy. Plus we probably have a while to go" i said

"Yeah" she said and there was a knock on the door and a nurse walked in with our moms

"Hey guys, we have some company" the nurse said

"Hi mom" i said

"Hi Alex, you doing alright. Your pale" my mom said

"Im fine. Just really tired" i said and she nodded

"How about you Melody, are you okay?" she asked Melody

"Im okay. Just in pain" Melody said

"Well be prepared its gonna be a long night" Melodys mom said and we heard a loud noise coming from Rian and he jumped awake and looked at his phone

"Jack said hes here, he said Zack will be arriving in a few hours" Rian said groggily and tossed his phone on a table and fell back to sleep

"Good" i said, Jacks the godfather and so is Eli. We decided that thats how we wanted it. Two male god parents

"Melody im gonna check you" the nurse said and she checked Melodys cervix

"Is she dilated enough for a epidural?" i asked

"Nope, shes at 3 cm. We've got a ways to go" the nurse said

"Ughhhhhh" Melody said

"You should all get some sleep while you can" the nurse said and left

"Alex go lay down. I'll sit with her" Melodys mom said

"Rian move over and share the couch" i said getting up and i went and laid at the other end of the couch

I didn't really sleep at all, i kept waking up during the night so i felt like i wasnt even sleeping. At one point i woke up and saw that Melody was finally asleep so i was able to actually finally relax. I woke up the next morning to people talking and the beeping of machines.

"Well look who finally decided to wake up" Jack said

"What the hell are you doing in here?" i asked sitting up into a sitting position

"Rian left and went home to get some actual sleep so i decided to come in" he said

"Oh. Wheres my mom and Melodys mom?" i asked

"They went to get coffee" he said

"Okay. What time is it?" i asked

"Like 7:30" he said

"Ohhh" i said

"Mhmm. Good news is Melody is almost to the point for the epidural. Zack took her for a walk to get things moving" he said

"Oh, why didnt you wake me. I would've gone" i said

"We didnt wanna wake you, you really looked like you needed to sleep" he said

"When did they walk out?" i asked

"Just now" he said

"Oh" i said

"Mhm. So i heard you basically had a panic attack last night" he said

"Well i was scared!. She was in pain and i wasnt sure how to help" i said

"Right...well she seems to be doing better" he said getting off the chair he was in

"How dilated is she?" i asked

"Uhmm...about 5 once she's at 6 she gets the drugs" he said

"Good" i said leaning back

"You okay?, you look sick" he said

"Migraine" i said

"Oh man that sucks" he said and we heard the door open and Zack and Melody walked in

"Hey" Zack said

"Wow. That was a quick walk" Jack said

"Yep. She didnt wanna do to much walking, she was getting really uncomfortable" Zack said helping Melody back into her bed

"Alex" Melody whined

"Yeah babe?" i asked getting up and i walked over to her bed and sat on the edge next to her

"I dont feel good" she said

"Do you feel like your gonna be sick?" i asked

"No...just hurts" she mumbled

"Want anything?" i asked

"Water?" she asked

"I'll text my mom to get one" i said since the doctors didnt leave anything for her

"Okay" she said and then i texted my mom and she said okay and that they'd be up in a few minutes

"Alright my mom and your mom are coming with the water" i said

"Lay with me?" she asked

"Sure" i said

The next hour was intense, Melody kept having contractions and they were getting bad. After she finally had her epidural she felt better and i was so glad because it sucked to watch her be in pain. By two o'clock she was pushing and a half hour later the baby was almost here.

"Okay Melody one more big push and her head should be out" the doctor said and Melody pushed

"Fuck!" Melody said in pain

"Alright, heads out. One more big push and we should have her out" the doctor said and she did a big push and the baby came out

"Oh my god!" i said

"Congrats guys. Its a beautiful little girl!" the doctor said putting her on Melodys chest

"Shes adorable!" Jack said

"She is" Melody said wiping the babys eyes off

"Do you two have a name for her?" the nurse asked

"Yeah. Lennox Victoria Gaskarth" Melody said

"Awww thats so cute!" my mom said

"Yeah it is" i said

"She's perfect" Melody said smiling at Lennox

"She is. Shes our perfect little angel" i said smiling at Lennox as well
