Miss Missing You

Chapter 3

Chapter 3 - Marie

I was dreading the next day of school. After Mr. David had kissed me, I tired avoiding him as much as possible. Even though it was fairly impossible. I had him everyday for English. I've always at far away from the front board and his desk as much as possible. He has called on me a couple times to answer questions and I did but I never spoke to him again. I decided not to tell Alex. Even though I promised him that anyone that touches me or physically hurts me in any way, I would tell him. But I betrayed him. He's living his dream of being in a band with his best friends and me ending up getting hurt, will cause him to worry about me more. And I don't want him to worry about me. I was sitting on one the benches near the library, burying myself in a novel. I never really read books, so I figured out that today would be a good day to start. I felt someone sit beside me, staring at my face. My eyes traveled away from the book I was reading and traveled to the person next to him. My eyes got wide as the person slyly smiled at me.

"I was impressed that you didn't tell the school board about what happened," Mr. David spoke. "With brains like yours, I would expected that."

I kept staring at him like he was a diseased bug.

"I thought I told you to stay away from me," I said. Mr. David waved his finger in front of me.

"Ah, but you didn't. I remember you saying, wait, yelling, 'Don't ever kiss me again', and I won't."

I squinted my eyes at him. "I don't know weather to believe you or not."

Mr. David placed a hand on my shoulder. I instantly winched but his hand remained there.

"Marie, I promise you I won't ever kiss you again, alright? You do have a boyfriend right?"

"Yes. And you knew that when you kissed me in the first place."

"That was honestly a mistake."

I rolled my eyes and placed my bookmark in my book and closing it shut.

"So I need help with moving stuff in my classroom and I thought you would be the perfect person," Mr. David said. "Will you?"

I thought it over. "Promise not to kiss me?"

He held his hands up in surrender. "Promise."

"Where do you want this Mr. David?" I asked, holding up a poster.

"How many times do I have to tell you, just call me Hunter, Marie," he said, pinning up a piece of paper on his colorful billboard.

"Fine, Hunter, where do you want this?"

"Over there above the sink," he said. I walked over to the sink with a couple of pins in my hands. I tried reaching up and pinning the poster above the sink. But with my height it was impossible. I heard a chuckle behind me. "Here let me help you." I felt Hunter, lean over me. "Put your feet on my feet." I obeyed and he placed a hand on my arm, slightly pushing me upwards and pinning up the poster. "There you go." I stayed in my position, not moving a muscle. I slowly turned around and I found myself in the arms of Hunter. I peered up at him. He had a small grin on his face and I couldn't help but shyly smile back. I felt my cheeks get red.

"You know, you're really cute when you blush," he whispered. I gulped, my cheeks getting hotter. I felt him lean in closer. If I moved any close, our lips would be touching and I didn't want that to happen. One side of me wanted him to hold me like this but the other side wants me to push him away.

Marie, you have a boyfriend. Alex, remember?

"What's wrong?" Hunter asked.

"Uh, nothing," I quickly said. I gently pushed him away and gathered up my things.

"Where are you going?"

I ignored him as I continued packing up my things. I shoved my pencils into my pocket, along with my phone. I walked as fast as I could out of the classroom. Just as I was about to leave the building, I felt a hand on my arm. I sharply turned around with tears in my eyes.

"What did I do?"

"Nothing, nothing. It's just I have a boyfriend," I said. "Look I really got to go."

Hunter sighed and let go of my arm. I gave him a small smile and walked out of the building. I walked as fast as I could to my dorm room. When I reached my dorm room, I opened the door and slammed it shut. I threw my backpack on my bed and just instantly started crying.

"Marie?"

I looked up to find a worried looking Aimee.

"What's wrong?" She asked. I wiped my eyes.

"Nothing," I said.

"You sure? Did something happen?"

"No, no. I'm fine. I'm just having a bad day."

Suddenly, my phone started ringing. I walked over to my overweight bag and picked it out of the pocket. Without looking at the caller ID, I answered, "Hello?"

"Marie? What's wrong?"

I looked at the Caller ID and internally groaned.

"I'm fine, Alex," I said.

"You sure?"

I rolled my eyes. "I said I'm fine. Okay?"

It was silent at the other end. "Okay."

I sighed and rubbed my temples while sitting on my bed. "Look I'm sorry okay. I'm just having a bad day. College is harder than you think," I lied. Alex chuckled.

"That's why Jack didn't go."

"Speaking of Jack, how is he doing?"

"He's good, we all are."

"Thanks good to hear. How's tour going so far?"

"Good. A lot more kids are coming and it's making us all excited."

I smiled. At least he was happy. "That's good to hear. Do you know when your coming to Boston?"

I imagined Alex shaking his head, hair falling into his eyes, and brushing it away. I softly giggled.

"Not yet," I could tell he was smiling at the end of the phone.

"Tell me!"

He laughed. "I will!"

I laughed along with him.

"Hey, I gotta go now. Talk to you later, okay?" He said. "I love you. And I mean it."

I smiled. "Love you too. And I mean it."

We both hung up. I groaned and fell back on my pillow.

"You guys are so adorable," Aimee gushed. "I wish I had a boyfriend like Alex."

I instantly smiled. "He's great. Even after all the crap we've been through during high school, he's always been awesome. And he can be a douche at times."

Aimee laughed. "Hey you can hook me up with one of the other members of All Time Low."

"Well Jack is taken, Alex is taken and Rian is taken. Zack is the only available one."

Aimee blushed. "I like him."

I winked, "Don't worry I'll set you up with him."

Aimee giggled and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. A knock came from the door and Aimee walked up to open up. It was a girl from my biology class.

"Marie, Mr. David is looking for you," she said. I internally groaned.

"Why does he always want to see you?" Aimee asked. "Does he have a crush on you something?"

I blushed but quickly hid it with my hair. "Tell him I'm coming."

The girl nodded and closed the door. I grabbed my phone off of my bed and shoved it in my back into pants pocket. I opened up the door and walked out and heading towards the English classroom. I was seriously tired of walking up and down everyday. I should really should start exercising. I knocked on the door to the English classroom. Hunter instantly answered.

"What do you want?" I asked as I walked in.

"You okay?" He asked.

"I'm fine," I sat down on his desk.

"You're sitting on my desk."

"And you're wearing a tie."

He grinned at me. "Sassy. I like it."

I felt my cheeks heat up.

"And like I said before, you're really cute when you blush."

I rolled my eyes and started swinging my legs back and forth. Of course with my height once again, I couldn't touch the floor. I feel like a thirteen year old rather than an eighteen year old.

"But I have a question for you, Marie," Hunter said, leaning up on one of the desks.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Why do you like your boyfriend?"

I blinked. Was this a trick question?

"Um, why?" I asked.

"Why do you like your boyfriend?" Hunter repeated.

I sighed. "I love him because he's the first person I've ever opened up to. I've had a rough past and he was the first one to hear about it. He chose me over the prettiest girls in school. I mean look at me, I'm a frizzy haired freak. He still loves me. And I was the first person to hear about his past to. That's what we have in common. I help him with everything and he helps me. I love him a lot."

Hunter nodded. "Hmm. What's his name?"

"Alex," I said.

"Does Alex get jealous?"

I thought it over. "I don't think so."

Hunter started getting closer to me. Softly stepping as if the ground would break underneath him.

"So if I kissed you right now, he wouldn't be jealous?"

Before I could understand what was happening, Hunter placed his lips on mine. Oh no. Not again. He placed his hands on my waist as he continued you kissing. He pulled away and looked at me.

"You know, it would be really nice if you kissed me back," he said. I gulped.

"I have a boyfriend."

Hunter's eyes bored into mine. "He doesn't have to know," he whispered. "Now tell me, am I a better kisser than your 'boyfriend'?" He placed his lips on mine once again. This time I couldn't help but kiss back. We slowly pulled away. I bit my lip and nodded. He smiled and kissed me again. His finger movements started tracing tiny shapes on my waist. It kind of reminded me of the time Alex and I almost kissed in my bedroom. My phone started ringing. I heard Hunter groan as I pulled away. I looked at the caller ID. Samantha. I shrugged as I clicked ignore. I threw my arms around Hunter and kissed him with all my force. He grinned against our lips as he deepened it. Somewhere in my brain, my mind is telling me this is wrong but the other is telling me this is right.

Hunter's hands gripped my thighs and lifted me off his desk. I wrapped my legs around his waist. Nah, this is right.

What Alex doesn't know won't hurt him, right?

Right.
