Feeling a certain need

When finally got to Las Vegas, Isaac drove us straight to New York New York. We both got out of the car and Isaac reached into the back and grabbed out duffle bags. I still couldn’t get over how he could carry both of our bags like they were no big deal. I assumed that was because of his werewolf super strength, but I actually didn’t know if werewolves had super strength. I actually wasn’t sure what all came with being a werewolf.

“Let’s head inside,” he said snapping me out of my thoughts. He started walking towards the entrance to the hotel.

“Alright,” I said quietly as I followed behind him.

When we got inside I was kind of taken back by all the noise. I bit my chapped lip as I tried to take in everything. Before we could get to check in counter I stopped Isaac, “I need to use the restroom,” I said speaking a little louder than normal so he could hear me over the nose of the casino.

“You find a restroom, and I’ll check us in.” he said looking off towards the check-in counter. “Meet me over there when you’re done,” he said walking away from me.

I walked across the casino and found a restroom. When I finished going into the bathroom I looked in the mirror to see that looked like a messy. My long strawberry blonde hair looked like it hadn’t been brushed in days, and I had huge dark circles under my eyes from the lack of sleep I’ve been getting since I was kidnapped.

“Make up can get rid of those circles, Hun,” I looked over to see a blonde girl who was in her mid-twenties who had he make up done like she was going to walk a red carpet.

“I haven’t been getting much sleep.” I said looking over at her.

“People don’t get much sleep here,” she said tugging on her very short dress.

“I’ve never been here before,” I said softly.

“Well have fun losing your Vegas virginity,” she said with a grin before turning on her heels and walking out of the bathroom. I wondered if she knew I was an actual virgin.

I gave myself one more look in the mirror before I walked out of the bathroom. I walked back across the casino and found Isaac standing by the check in counter. “I got our room,” he said holding up to room keys. “We’re on floor fourteen.”

Isaac led us to the elevator with both our duffel bags still in his hands. I reached over and pressed the going up button and gave him a smile. I noticed he had almost a nervous look on his face. I wasn’t exactly sure why he would be nervous, but I did feel like I shouldn’t ask him. As soon as the doors opened we walked into the elevator and were joined by a couple who looked like they were in their late twenties. As the elevator doors closed I looked over at Isaac and he looked like he was beginning to panic. I wasn’t exactly sure why he was panicking, but I knew I had to calm him down.

“Isaac,” I whispered hoping that the couple wouldn’t hear me. He looked over at me with a scared look in his eyes. I stared at him for a moment and watched as his normally blue eyes turned to a glowing gold color. “It’s alright,” I whispered as I reach over and put my hand on top of his that was closest to me. He looked into my eye with the same scared. Before I could say anything else the doors to the elevator opened and Isaac rushed out of the elevator. I looked back at the couple to see that they were too into kissing to even know what was happening.

“Isaac are you alright,” I said following right behind him as he headed towards our room.

“Fine,” he said quickly.

“Alright,” I said as we stopped in front of our door to our room.

Isaac pulled his room key out of his pocket, and opened the door quickly. We walked inside to find a lovely tan room with an amazing view of the strip. I was a little caught off guard when I saw there was a one bed in the middle of the room.

“I guess we’re sharing a bed,” Isaac said sitting our bag down by the large window that gave us a view of the strip. “If you’re not comfortable with it I can try to change it,” he said sitting down on the edge of the bed.

“I’m fine,” I said softly. The thought of sharing a bed did make me a nervous, but at the same time I was excited by the fact I was going to be able to share a bed about with him. I walked over and sat in the chair that sat across from the bed.

I felt very conflicted when it came to Isaac. There’s the part of me that is nervous around him and slightly still scared of him, and then there’s the hormonal teenage girl part of me that just wants to kiss him. I wasn’t exactly sure which part of me was more prominent. I wished that somehow I could find a balance between the two of them.

I snapped out of my thought and I realized I had to try to ask Isaac why he started freaking out in the elevator, “Isaac what happened in the elevator?” I asked looking into his blue irises.

“Nothing,” I knew he was lying to me, for the fact he looked away from me as he spoke.

“That was definitely something,” I said still staring at him.

“I have a problem when it comes to small spaces, but it’s nothing to worry about,” he said getting up and walking towards the bathroom.

“We can talk about it if you want,” I said looking over towards the bathroom where he had disappeared to.

“There’s nothing to talk about,” I heard him say from the bathroom. He sounded like he was becoming annoyed with the conversation so I figured that I should just drop the conversation.

I sat up from the brown chair that was across from the bed and figured I might as well see how comfortable the bed is that I’m going to be sharing with Isaac. I sat down and couldn’t help but let a smile form on my face at how comfortable the bed was. I threw my by body back lightly and just laid on the bed with my legs hanging off the edge. I took a deep breath and stared at the ceiling enjoying a moment of feeling safe and feeling comfortable.

I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Isaac clear his throat. I sat up and looked over at him to find him leaning against the small wall next to where the bathroom door is. “I see you like the bed,” he said with a look on his face I couldn’t figure out.

“Yeah it’s and comfortable,” I gave him a smile hoping I could get him to smile back at me.

“Is there anything you want to do while you’re Vegas?” he asked still with the same look on his face.

“Can we go look around the hotel?” I asked standing up.

“Yeah if you want to we can.”

“Let’s do that then,” I said walking passed him and towards the door.

He didn’t say anything else I just heard him walk towards me. I opened the door and walked into to the hallway. I looked back and watched as Isaac shut the door and stood next to me. I followed him as he started walking towards the elevator.

“Isaac are you going to be okay taking the elevator again?” I said as I continued to walk behind him.

“I should be,” he said pushing the down button.

“I totally understand if you want to use the stairs,” I said reaching over and grabbing his wrist to stop if from getting in the elevator as the doors opened.

“Do you think I’m not going to be fine," he said sounding a little annoyed.

I let go of his wrist and said, “no I just want you to feel like you have to take the elevator.” He gave me a weird look and walked into the elevator. “Okay,” I said stepping in behind him.

“You don’t have to worry I’m not going to change and hurt you,” he said pressing floor one.

I didn’t exactly know what to say to him, I didn’t know what he wanted me to say to him. I assumed that he thought I’m scared of him. We rode down to floor one in silence, I kept looking over at Isaac, and he looked like he was trying to his best to stay calm by taking deep breaths. As the doors opened Isaac walked out quickly and looked back at me as I walked towards him.

“Is there anything specific that you want to look at?” he asked.

“Um not really I just kind of want to look around.”

We walked in silence for a little while through the casino part of the hotel. I couldn’t believe how many people were sitting at machines gambling away their money. “Why did you choose to come to Las Vegas?” Isaac said speaking up.

“I guess I choose to come here because I knew there would be a lot of people and it would be hard for Deucalion to find me here.” I said as I messed with the bottom of my button up shirt. “I guess I also picked to come here because I’ve never been here and I’ve always wondered what it was like here.”

He looked over at me as we continued to walk and gave me a smile I felt like he hadn’t given me in a while. “He won’t be able to get to you,” he simply stated.

“He really hope he can’t because has much of a cliché as it may sound, I feel like I’m too young to die.” I said as we continued walking to wear store were. “I feel like I haven’t done anything with my life.”

“You’re seventeen, it’s not like the world expects you to accomplish a lot,” he said stopping and looking over at me.

“I know but I feel like I’ve should of done a lot with my life,” I said looking into his blue eyes.

“Well Deucalion isn’t going to kill you so you still have plenty of time to do a lot with your life,” he said it like he knew nothing was going to happen to me and that he knew I was going to live for a while.

“You sound so sure of yourself,” I said as I let him towards a store that sold of bunch of Vegas souvenirs.

“It’s because I know I’m not going to let anything happen to you,” he said grabbing my wrist.

I looked into his eyes and I could tell that he was serious. That he wasn’t going to let anything happen to me. I couldn’t figure out why he was planned on going out of his way to make sure I didn’t get hurt. “Why are you being so nice to me?” I asked still looking into his gorgeous blue eyes as he continued to grip my wrist pretty tightly.

“Because I feel a need to protect you.”

“If you feel a need to protect me because you are scared of me telling people about what you are, you don’t have to worry,” I said as my eyes continued to be locked onto his.

“I know you won’t, and I just want to protect you.”

We both just stood there a moment just staring at each other taking deep breaths. I could of stood there forever if my wrist didn’t start hurting form Isaac’s strong grip. “Isaac my wrist is starting to hurt,” I said speaking up.

“Oh Lennon, I’m really sorry,” he said letting go as quickly as he possibly could.

“It’s okay,” I said dropping my arm to my side. I wanted to rub it but I knew I couldn’t because Isaac would feel bad for how tightly he was gripping it.

“Did I hurt you?” he asked reaching down and grabbing it.

“Nope,” I said lying as he pulled it up and examined it. He frowned as he held it up and saws that his fingers had left red marks.

“I can’t believe I managed hurt you when I said I wouldn’t,” he said as he started walking away from me sounding ashamed of himself.

I walked as quickly as my legs would carry me across the store through of bunch of racks of t-shirts. “Isaac I’m not hurt,” I said reach as quickly as I could to grab his wrist.

“Don’t lie to me,” he said looking back at me.

“I’m not lying. I’m not hurt, and you don’t have to worry about me being scare of you.” I watched as a smile formed on his face. “I feel really safe around you; I know you won’t let anything happen to me.”

“Okay good,” he said as I let go of his wrist.

We continued to walk around the hotel and when we got hungry we stopped and ate at a restaurant that sold hamburgers and stuff like that. We only decided to head up to the room when I mentioned that I was starting to get tired.

We walked over to the elevator and Isaac took a deep breath as the elevator doors closed. I was happy that it was just us two; I didn’t want some stranger to see Isaac’s eyes turn to glowing gold if he started to freak out again. “Isaac if you ever want to talk about why you hate small spaces, I’m here to listen,” I said looking over at him and giving him a smile.

“Okay,” he replied simply as the doors opened. We walked over towards our room and Isaac used his keycard and opened the door. “Which side of the bed do you want?” he asked.

“I’ll take the side by the window,” I said as I walked towards it. “I’m going to take a shower before bed.”

“Go for it. I’ll take one after you,” he said sitting on his side of the bed.

I walked over to my duffle bag and searched through it trying to find my pajama shorts, because even with the air conditioner on I still felt hot. “I can’t believe I left my shorts at home,” I said sighing as I gave up looking.

“Do you want to wear a pair of my boxers?” Isaac asked. I felt my cheeks heat up and the simple mention of the word boxers.

“Um, yes please,” I said softly feeling embarrassed.

“One second,” he said getting off the bed and walking over to where I was standing next to both of our duffle bags. I watched he move stuff around in his until he pulled out a pair of grey boxers and handed them to me with a smile on his face. “They might be a little big,” he said as I took them out of his hand.

“Thank you,” I said standing up.

“No problem,” he said giving me a smirk.

I walked into the bathroom and sat Isaac’s boxers on top of the toilet seat along with an oversized shirt I pack, and a fresh pair of underwear and a sports bra. I walked over to the tile shower and turned the water on to equal parts hot and cold water. I stripped off all my clothes and tossed them on the ground next to my clean clothes. I walked back over to the shower and put my hand out to make sure the water wasn’t too hot or too cold. I stepped in as quickly as I realized the water was a good temperature. I felt completely relaxed as I let the warm water hit my pale skin. I felt like all the tension I had was being melted away with the warm water. I reached over to the corner shelf away from the shower head and grabbed the shampoo that was there. I poured a quarter size amount of the cool liquid into the palm of my hand and then lathered into to my knotted strawberry blonde hair. I repeated and did the same thing with the conditioner that was on the shelf next to the shampoo. After I finished washing my hair I took a few minutes just to stand under the warm water.

I shut off the shower after I felt like I had been in for too long and reached over to the towel rack next to the shower and grabbed one of the big comfy towels. I wrapped it around my wet skin before I stepped out of the shower and walked over to where my clean clothes were. I dried my skin off as much as I could before I twisted my wet hair up in it and sat it on top of my head. I got dressed as I quickly as I could. I couldn’t help but feel a little weird in Isaac’s boxers that were a little too big for me. As soon as I slip my shirt on I took my hair down from on top of my head and tried to towel dry it as much as possible before leaving the bathroom. I really didn’t want to walk in to the room with my hair in a towel in front of Isaac. I walked over to the mirror and gave myself a once over hoping that I looked okay, before I walked out of the bathroom.

“That bathrooms yours,” I said walking towards the bed.

“Thanks,” he said standing up and getting off the bed as he gave me a smile.

As he walked into the bathroom I walked over to the nightstand next to his side of the bed and grabbed the TV remote control. I walked over and sat on my side of the bed and turned on the TV. I felt like was flipping through channels forever before I finally found Ferris Bueller’s day off on some random channel. I must have been watching the movie for about ten minutes before Isaac came out of the bathroom in nothing but a pair of black gym short that hung low on his hips. I tried my hardest not to stare at him but I really couldn’t help it. I swallowed deeply and accidently looked up and made eye contact with Isaac. I felt my cheeks start to blush as he gave me a smile.

“Do my shorts fit?” he asked. I was a complete loss at what to say, I felt completely embarrassed that he called me out for staring at him. I tried to open my mouth to speak but nothing came out. “Do my shorts I gave you to sleep in fit alright?” I felt completely relieved that he was talking about the boxers I was wear and not this shorts that I was staring at.

“Yeah they’re a little big, but they fit good,” I said feeling like a complete dumbass.

“That’s good,” he said crawling into the bed next to me. “I’ve only seen this movie once,” he said looking at the big TV.

“I love this movie,” I said smiling as I looked at the TV.

We both laid on top of the covers watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off until I crawled under the covers because it was getting too hard to stay awake. I knew I would fall asleep soon, I just prayed I wouldn’t have another nightmare when I did fall asleep.
