We were fourteen when I asked her.

"Why do you always wear that thing?"

"What thing?" She asked, curiously glancing at me. Her raven black hair swooshed over her shoulder as she did so.

"That ribbon. Why don't you ever take it off?"

She smiled smartly. "You'll see someday. But not today."

She turned her glossy eyes back to the pages of her book and ignored me.

"If I don't find out for myself first," I grumbled.
