Life After Death
Chapter 1: Past
It was the summer of 1946. Everyone was at the Chelsea Hotel. Dancing, drinking, and having fun.
All the chatter stopped when twenty-two year old Lydia Foster came out. She stood in front of the mic with the friendliest smile that lit up the whole room.
Lydia was a beauty with classic looks. Her hair was platinum blonde in elegant curls. Her lips were always red. She had the brightest blue eyes. She wore a gorgeous blue backless dress that stopped just above her firm ass. Which at the time was considered too revealing to women. Her nails were painted a deep garnet red.
"Good evening." She said into the mic.
Her voice was like windchimes.
"I hope you all are having a good time." She continued. "I'm gonna be performing some songs for you."
After some applause she cupped the mic before beginning.
"This feeling is endless."
"Hollow voids cannot be filled."
"This unrest relentless."
"To want and never ever have."
"I know."
"Sorrow I know."
Everyone watched as she closed her eyes moving slowly and beautifully with the sadness of the beat. She sung so powerful and full with emotion.
"This longing is ageless."
"Underneath the blackened sky."
"I still remain nameless."
"The night is ablaze and so am I."
"I know."
"Sorrow I know."
"Beckoning."
"Spiraling."
"Do your bidding."
"Angels sing."
"I, I know."
"Sorrow I know."
The place applauded with some throwing flowers.
"Thank you." Lydia said with a same smile as she went into the next song.
A pair of hungry eyes watched Lydia all night. The owner of the eyes licked his lips as he eyed the beauty on stage. She was young, beautiful, and naive. The qualities he looked for in a victim.
After Lydia was done performing she locked eyes with the man. He gestured for her to join him. She smiled and came over.
"Hello stranger." Lydia said with a smile she flashed another smile as the bartender gave her a drink on the house.
"Hello beautiful you were really amazing up there." The man said giving her a charming smile.
"I'm not that good." Lydia said modestly.
"You are too me." He said. "You want to go talk somewhere more private?"
Lydia smiled and nodded. Thanking the bartender again for the drink she followed the stranger upstairs. She didn't notice the worried look the bartender had in his eyes.
The man lead her to his hotel room which was on the top floor. It had a balcony overlooking the city. Lydia walked to it looking over the city.
She was so awed by the sight she didn't notice the man come up behind her until she felt his breath on her bare back. The stranger wrapped his arms around her waist and placed kisses on her shoulders and neck.
Lydia leaned back into him gasping softly. The man continued doing this for a couple more minutes. Lydia was so distracted she didn't notice the man walking closer to the edge of the balcony.
Tightening his grip in her the man tried to throw her off. Lydia opened her eyes and struggled with the man. She tried to run the man grabbing her pearl necklace causing it to break sending the pearls bouncing in every direction.
He grabbed her by her waist and threw her off the balcony. Watching her frightened look as she finally landed on the sidewalk below dead.
