What You Need

"You must be Carol!" a slender woman greeted me warmly as we entered Ryan's former home with a hug. I looked over to Ryan as she released me, and he smiled.

"Hey mom." he said warmly giving her a hug.

"I hope you two are ready to eat."

"My mom likes to cook." he murmured against my ear as he closed the door behind us. My stomach automatically growled, making me laugh.

"I thought I heard my son come in." a tall man came from the back of the house.

"Hey dad." Ryan laughed as his dad clapped him on the back.

"And you must be Carol." he smiled shaking my hand, then looked over to Ryan. "You know Ryan's never brought home a girl before, even when he was in highschool."

"Dad," Ryan said raising a eyebrow at him.

"It's very nice to meet you Carol." his dad said winking at me, I smiled back.

"Sorry, he can be a dweeb." Ryan sighed helping me off with my coat

"I thought he seemed nice." I smiled, for some reason a light showed in Ryan's eyes. He leaned down closer to me,

"I'm glad." he grinned as he leaned even closer, focusing on my lips.

"Ryan, come in here and show your new friend to your grandmother!" a shout came from the front room. It was an interuption that I should've been greatful for, but now I loathed the consistancy of them. Ever since that day in the park, my phone would ring or his phone would ring. The pizza boy decided not to be late, I had decided that I might as well see why Ryan stirred such a rukus within my walls. And so far I have not been able to test my theory, which is that he's new. And new things always stir up things that are sedintary. I wasn't even sure if this was a one of those relationships, like a boyfriend-girlfriend type thing. That annoyed me even more,

"C'mon, you'll love grammy." he sighed, and led me to the front room.

------------------------------------------------

"That was a very wonderful meal." I smiled

"So you're a lawyer?" Ryan's mother asked as we settled down in the living room with desert while the men cleaned the kitchen up. They lost a bet of some sort,

"Yes."

"Do you actually go into court and what not."

"Yes." I shifted uncomfortably in my seat

"How did you and Ryan meet?" she asked simply

"At a bus stop." I smiled, remembering how weird I thought Ryan was.

"Do you have family in Nashville?"

"No, they live in Wilbourn. I a little bit north of Nashville." I smiled

"You going there for Christmas?"

"Yes m'am, that's the holiday my mom cares about the most." I laughed, she laughed as well, then Ryan and his dad strolled in.

"Mom please don't tell me you're interigating Carol." he laughed as he sat down next to me

"Just getting to know her a little." she sighed as her husband settled next to her

"Well, I'm sure Carol is tired, from the food and the driving. So we're going to head off to bed." he sighed stretching and standing up. I stood up with him, not wanting anymore personal questions from either one of his parents.

"Alright, see you in the morning." his dad smiled as Ryan led me to his room. He closed the door behind us,

"Shouldn't I sleep in the spare room?" I gulped as Ryan started to take off his shoes and socks.

"Why?"

"Because it's proper?" I said folding my arms over my chest

"Proper?" he laughed as he walked towards me. My heart stopped beating, and I just stared at him. This is what I wanted, to be with him without any interuptions.

"Carol-" I cut him off by shaking my head and going to the bed.

"Your room is colorful." I inwardly laughed

"For your information, one of my younger cousins had to come stay with my parents for a few years." he said inching me back closer to the bed

"She was a girl I suppose." I gulped

"Why do you get so nervous?"

"Nervous when?"

"Like now."

"How do you know I'm nervous?" I whispered, he leaned down and kissed the throbbing pulse at my neck that quickened even more at his touch. I sighed as he nuzzled my neck,

"That's how." he grinned into my neck. He leaned up and I searched his eyes,

"We're still in your parents house." I said gaining my witts again

"I'm well aware of that." he said with a crooked smile, my leggs hit the edge of the bed. My pulse quickened again,

"Um,-"

"No, I know I myself am tired of getting in the right spot and then someone or thing ruins it." he sighed as I felt his arm wrap around my back.

"And?"

"And I know you are too." I coldn't argue with him there, he already knew when and how to make me nervous. He grinned as he tighened his grip around me,

"Ry-" I was cut off by his lips, not kissing me soft this time. But thoroughly, and gentle at the same time. I sighed as it seemed I was being laid down.

"Make this easier one both of us, and just let me in." I opened my eyes, his eyes had clouded over. This is what I wanted right? To see what was so great about him that he stirred these feelings within me, that I thought were dead. He smiled as though he could see my thoughts and knew what my decision was going to be . And he leaned down, pressing his lips softly against mine. I suppose I gave in because all I felt was his warmth after that, and again when I woke up. Normally I would've have expected him to be gone in the morning. But he was there, still asleep, he always laughed at me for being an early riser. I looked at the night stand, and the digital clock said 9:30, I wouldn't consider that early. But that was the first time in a while that I had slept past 6:30 in the morning without a stir. I turned over to face Ryan, and that woke him up.

"I smell breakfast, did you already eat your coffee?" he chuckled slightly stretching

"I just woke up myself thank you very much."

"Really?"

"Yes, what does your mom normally cook?"

"Don't tell me you're going to be picky with free food Carol." he sighed standing up, I then realized he had no shirt on. And began to blush, I looked down to hide my stained cheeks.

"No, I was just wondering. It smells like bacon, but some mom's change eatting habits when kids leave home." I said, tucking my knees closer to my body. I still have my pijamas on, why was he missing a shirt.

"You did that."

"What?" I looked to his grin, he pointed to his naked upper body. "How?"

"You just did, you're quite the tease. You took off my shirt, and then only let me kiss you." he yawned, and bent to get his shirt I had taken off of him. After he put it on, I could see why I would've taken it off, I liked him more with it off.

"C'mon, we need to leave around noon or so." he said reaching for me.

"Why? We won't make it home in a decent hour." I said as he pulled me to him.

"Then I guess we'll have to stop at a hotel then." he grinned, making me warm again.
