Our Little Girl

The next day me and Lennox went and picked up Jack, we were going to go shopping for a toddler for Lennox since shes in her crib that transforms into a bed and we think she just needs something completely new. We got to babies r us and grabbed a cart when we walked in, Jack was keeping Lennox entertained.

"So whats your favorite color?" he asked her as he carried her and she played with the blonde in his hair

"Hmm...blue!" she said and Jack gasped

"Thats my favorite color!. Are you being a copy cat?" he asked joking with her

"No!" she giggled

"Yes you are!" he said

"No your a copy cat!" she said

"No im not, blue has been my favorite color for like twenty years" he said grabbing a little yellow hat from a shelf and he plopped it on her head

"Daddy look at my pretty hat!" she said and i laughed

"Its beautiful, i think uncle Jack should wear it" i said and she put the hat on Jack

"How do i look?" he asked her

"Pretty!" she said

"Well thank you, yellow is my color after all" he said and i laughed as we got to the toddler beds

"Alright, do you see any beds you like?" i asked Lennox

"Uhmm...that one!" she said excited and pointed at the bed with the rocketship head board and i went over to it and it was 550 dollars

"Oh wow...uhm that ones a bit to much. See any other one you like?" i asked as Jack put her down

"Hmmm...i dont know" she said looking around

"Well how about this one" i said pointing out a simple white one

"Ehh" she said

"If you get this one then you can get really fun blankets and stuff for it" i said and she got excited

"Yes!" she said

"Okay sweet, help me put this in the cart Jack" i said and we went and got the boxed bed frame and put it in the cart and then went to look at mattresses

After we finished our shopping we left with the bed frame, mattress and a giraffe bed set. I tried persuading her into getting the plain yellow but she didnt like it. We went home and went to her room to get to work on the bed.

"So are we trashing the crib or keeping it?" Jack asked me

"Keeping it. We'll need it for future kids" i said

"Are you two planning on having another!?" he asked

"Well not now but eventually we want more kids. Plus even if we didn't want anymore kids i'd still keep the crib. You dont throw stuff like this out" i said

"True" he said nodding

"Lennox, put your toys away so me and uncle Jack can get to work on putting your bed together" i said

"Mkay" she said

"Alright lets take this thing down!" Jack said grabbing the screw driver

"Do you wanna take it apart while i go and wash the new bedding?" i asked

"What if i wash the stuff for you and you take apart the crib?. I know your trying to get out of this, its not happening" he said

"Well this stuff needs to be cleaned" i said holding up the bag from the store

"Mhmm. But it can wait" he said amused

"Ugh!. Fine!" i said defeated and tossed the bag to the hall

We started taking apart Lennox's crib while Lennox watched. After about a hour and a half we had the crib down and the bed put together. I took the bag of bedding and the crib down to the basement while Jack took the boxes outside and cleaned up the room, Lennox decided to join me in the basement.

"Daddy what are you doing?" she asked me as i sat on the floor pulling stuff out of the bag

"Getting your sheets and everything out of the bags so i can wash them, wanna help?" i asked

"Yes!" she said and i passed her the little package that held pillow cases

"You and uncle Jack did a great job picking this stuff out" i said holding up a sheet with lady bugs on it and then picked up the chevron comforter

"Yeah!" she said giggling and pulling the pillow cases out of their packaging, the pillow cases had polka dots

"Uncle Jack comes baring gifts!" Jack sang coming downstairs, i looked over and he had popsicles

"Ooh!. Gimme!" Lennox said jumping up and running to Jack

"Lennox Victoria!, dont walk all over the stuff!" i said as she walked over the pillow case and sheet

"Oops" she said as Jack picked her up and they plopped into the bean bag chair next to me

"Want one?" Jack asked me as he let Lennox take a bite of the grape he was holding

"Sure" i said and he tossed a cherry one at me

"Anything i can do to help?" Jack asked me

"Uhmm do you wanna go put soap in the washing machine so its all ready for me?" i asked

"Eh. Nah" he said and i glared at him

"Why the hell bother asking to help if you dont wanna help?" i asked

"I thought there was something else i could do" he said

"Nope" i said

"Oh well...i can keep your child distracted, thats good right?" he asked

"I guess" i said

"Cool babysitting it is!" he said and i rolled my eyes at him as i got up off the floor and grabbed all the stuff to bring to washing machine

I put all the bedding in the washer and after it was all clean and dry Jack helped me make the bed, it was so awesome looking. I decided to keep the completed bed a surprise for Lennox to see when she went to bed. That night around 9 it was Lennoxs bedtime.

"Alright time for bed" i said getting up

"Yay!" Lennox said as i picked her up and we all walked over to her bedroom

"Alright ready to see your room?" i asked

"Yes!" she said excited

"Okay. Open the door Mel" i said and Melody opened the door and we walked in. Lennoxs face lit up

"Its so pretty!" Lennox said, her bed did look really good

"Good im glad, go put your night gown on" i said putting her down

"Thanks for the bed daddy!, i love it!" she said hugging my legs

"Your welcome" i laughed

"Awww. So cute" Melody said

"Want help changing?" i asked Lennox

"No!. Im big girl now" Lennox said and i laughed and nodded

"Yes you are. Me and mommy will be in the livingroom, enjoy your bed" i said giving her a kiss on the forehead

"Night daddy, night mommy" Lennox said

"Night baby girl" Melody said giving her a kiss

"Come on Mel" i said taking her hand and we left the room shutting the door behind me

"Oh my god shes growing up!" Mel said

"Yes she is" i said putting my arm around her shoulder
