Our Little Girl

Alex's POV:
The rest of the day went really well, Jake and Devyn seemed to really get along well. They stayed over pretty late until about 9:30 and we were all just hanging out talking. Later around 11:30 me and Melody were lying in bed cuddling and watching a movie.

"Mmm...we need more nights like this" i said

"Yeah we do" she said

"Your so pretty" i said kissing her neck

"In my sports bra, shorts and no make up?" she asked me

"Yes. Your pretty regardless" i said

"So sweet" she said kissing me

"I know" i laughed

"Love you" she said and cuddled into me

The rest of the night was super relaxing, it was nice to just be able to have some time to ourselves. As much as we love Lennox we love being alone as well. The next morning i woke up to the sound of the shower going and i tried to fall back asleep but i heard Melody curing in the bathroom.

"Mel?" i called out and got no response so i went over to the bathroom and knocked on the door

"What?" she asked

"What are you doing screaming profanities while our daughter is home?" i asked

"I wasnt screaming" she said

"Whatever, so whats up?" i asked

"Nothing. Just got my period, super uncomfortable" she said

"Ohhh" i said

"Mhm" she said

"I'll keep Lennox entertained today so you can relax" i said

"Thank you" she said walking past me and went to the kitchen

Later on in the day Jack came over and we took Lennox to the park to play, it was the perfect day to be outside. Lennox seemed to make friends with a few kids pretty quick, she always had no problems making friends which i loved. After a while she had me and Jack push her on the swings.

"Uncle Jack push me higher" Lennox said

"Okay" he said

"Uhmm i dont think thats a good idea" i said

"Come on Alex, wheres your sense of adventure?" he asked

"I have it. I just dont want my child ending up with a fucking concussion after she looses her hold on the chains and falls 5 or 6 feet to the ground" i said

"She'll be fine" he said

"Jack please" i said and he looked disappointed

"Hello" i heard someone say, i looked over and saw two women about my age come over to us

"Hi" we said

"Is she your daughter?" she asked me

"Yep" i said

"Shes adorable, whats her name?" she asked me

"Thank you, her name is Lennox" i said

"Thats different!. I love it!" she said

"Thanks" i said

"She looks like your husband. So how'd you guys get her?. Surrogate?" she said

"Excuse me?" i asked and Jack laughed

"Thank you!. She is the cutest" Jack said and the lady looked confused

"Well she does belong to both of you, correct?" she asked and i went to correct her but Jack cut in

"Yes she does!. Shes is so precious, best thing that ever happened to us. Right babe?" Jack said putting his hand in my back pocket

"Hes totally joking, shes my daughter with my girlfriend. He isnt related to her at all. Hes my best friend" i said

"Oh god!, im so sorry!" she said

"Its okay" i said

"I just kinda assumed. Which its clear i shouldn't" she said

"Dont worry about it, it isnt the first time we've been mistaken as a gay couple and it wont be the last" i laughed

"Well that makes me feel better" she said

"Mhm" i said

"Well...again im sorry. Have a good day" she said and walked off

"Bye" i called after her

"Damnit Alex!. You couldn't just play along?" Jack said

"Your so crazy sometimes Jack" i said

"No im not, im just fun" he said

We stayed at the park for a little while longer and then left. We went home and Melody was sleeping on the couch. Afer a while Lennox decided to try to wake Melody, i had to stop her before she woke her up.

"Lennox no!" i said picking her up and taking her to the kitchen

"Daddy, why is mommy sleeping?" she asked me

"She doesnt feel good hunny" i said

"Why not?" she asked

"Her tummy doesn't feel good" i said

"Why not?" she asked

"Its just a grown up thing. It has to do with babies" i said

"Is mommy having another baby!?" she asked excited, well thankfully if i get Meloldy pregnant again we know Lennox will be excited and not upset about having a sibling

"No shes not. I cant explain it, you'll need to ask mommy someday. But not today" i said

"Fine" she said
