Survive the Storm

Story started on September 20th 2013

" Geez Ella just relax, it's only going to rain a little tomorrow " My dad Timothy attempted to keep me relaxed.
I had a big tourney coming up in Foley and I was so excited, I always
watch the weather the night before.
I went off to my room to get ready for tomorrow.
I prayed and prayed for no rain, but usually my wished never came true
and no matter how hard I prayed u never know if god will hear.

Beep. Beep. Beep.
My alarm clock startled me, as I jolted awake, I quickly got dressed
and pulled my hair into a bun.
Today was the big day I thought.
As I walked off the bus with my heavy backpack, I walked up the
crowded sidewalk to the school. High school.
I was just a new 7th grader, only 3 weeks into the new school year, I
looked into the big windows of the 7th grade commons, so many kids
like me, scared and nervous for the days to come.
Our 7th grade commons were separated from the rest of the school by
walls of windows and 1 set of doors, we were still attached to the
school, but I turned to the right through the first set of doors
instead of keep walking into the next set to the rest of the school.
I turned into the commons, looking at all the tables, and a the big
square of lockers and classes for us on every wall.
I walked to the back where my locker was, I quickly opened my
combination in my head and unlocked it quickly and grabbed my Pre
Algebra folder and my iPad then slammed it shut.
I walked over to the table where my group of friends sat.
" Hey hey hey " I said in a higher voice.
" Hi ho girl " Emma laughed as I sat down by everybody.
" I'm soo excited for the tourney tonight" Hailey said sarcastically.
" Haha I'm actually excited " I smiled.
" hey how was the volleyball game last night sorry I couldn't come I was- " I
asked as Chloe cut me off.
" Watching the weather? " Chloe asked.
" You always watch the weather ur obsessive " Nikki laughed.
" Are we talking about how Ella watches the weather too much? " Megan
asked as she came up behind us.
" Don't answer that " Jane laughed.
" Obsessive weather watcher look it's on the news " Kia laughed too
coming up by Megan.
" Really? " we all laughed harder.
" Guys watch out teacher coming " Kendra shushed us just to start
laughing with us.
" shush girls " Our history teacher shushed us as he walked by.
" Sorry " we whispered as we quieted down.
" Talking about me behind my back again " Kristine sneered from behind us.
We all swung around.
There stood Kristine in her designer jeans and hair laid perfectly on
her shoulders.
" What's ur problem Kris? " Emma asked.
" Ella she's my problem " Kris shot back.
" Oh please all u do is pick pick pick " Nikki stood up.
" Nikki don't " Chloe grabbed Nikki's sleeve.
" Stop it Chloe she needs to be taught a lesson " Nikki looked down on
Chloe who let go.
" Oh so I'm the one who needs a lesson? " Kris asked with sarcasm in her voice.
" Yep I'll help Nikki " Kendra got up, but we knew she was scared.
" Guys stop " Jane pleaded.
" Yeah we don't need violence " I grabbed Kendra, pulling her back to the bench.
" Ugh " Kris uttered and walked away.
" Yeah go run and tell ur boyfriend savor, Ryan! " Hailey yelled to Kris.
Kris immediately turned around and started to stomp back.
" You really did it now " Kia slapped her forehead.
Just as Kris was about to approach us again, a cute boy who was Kris'
supposedly boyfriend, grabbed her arm, " Kris relax just leave it be "
and they walked away.
" Thanks guys " I sighed.
" No prob " they smiled.
" I just gotta of one more thing " I got up.
" What's that? " Megan asked.
" You'll see " I said as I walked away.
I approached Kristine's table.
" Can I just ask you one question? " I asked Kris.
" What? " Kris asked impatient.
" Why would I spread rumors about u ur the most popular girl in the
7th grade, and I know u spread rumors about me but I live with it and
now u got a taste of ur own medicine and u ditch me, so much for best
friends forever huh? Oh and one more thing, ur not a true friend and I
deserve more than u, everyone sees that " I finished
up and walked away leaving Kristine to sit in silence, her mouth open
and her face white.
I got back to our table and sat down to sigh.
" Whoa well done! " Megan clapped.
" Thank you thank you " I bowed as they clapped.
" Hey Ella, that was pretty cool how u stood up to Kris " Ryan walked
away smiling.
" Oo la la " we all cooed and fanned each other as the first hour bell rang.
