Survive the Storm

As the bell rang, we waved to each other as we walked off to separate classes.
I walked with Kendra and Nikki to class together, since we were in the
same first hour class, Pre Algebra.
As we walked in we got the whiff of the silence and coldness in the room.
We looked over at our teacher Mrs. B, she was a pretty young teacher
about 26, she was the type of teacher who was happy and smiley
sometimes then dull and boring at points, she had her really good days and really you know crappy days.
She smiled only when she was really happy ( which had oddly came up more now a days) and she had a really pretty smile.
The past few days had been great with her because she let us get off
topic and she laughed a lot with us.
It was becoming easier to talk to her.
She was wider around the waist because at the beginning of the year she told us she
was 7 1/2 months pregnant. And usually she got really moody.
I we sat down i kept looking at her with her long blondish brown hair
swaying across her shoulders as she put it in a pony tail.
She always wore a dragon staff sweatshirt for school and some type of jeans.
Soon she was up at the board, writing down our many assignments, all I
could think about was the match.
" Ella did u hear what I just said? " I heard Mrs. B say and shook me
away from a daydream.
" No sorry I guess I was just lost in thought " I said embarrassed.
" Its ok just pay attention " She continued to write.
Not long later there was only 10 minutes left in first hour and we were doing
homework as Mrs. B sat at her desk, she suddenly said " Whoa baby that
was a hard one " she looked down at her stomach as if she was really
talking to the baby.
We all giggled.
And then the bell rang.
" Bye guys see u later! " Mrs. B waved to us and we waved back.
A couple hours later it was time for lunch as the 3rd hour bell rang.
We walked off to lunch as we all laughed in our group thinking of how
another great hour with hilarious Mrs. Hans went well again, as we
walked off to the lunch room.

" Why does this line have to be so long, we're never gonna get to eat "
Megan whined.
We all whined with her.
" Guys I know this is hard to get used to but we gotta work with it "
Jane tried to keep us from complaining.
" Sometimes ur just to positive " Kendra crossed her arms over chest.
" Yeah it's definitely hard to stay positive about this " Chloe sighed.
After nearly 20 minutes of waiting we reached the line, grabbed food,
and went it a circle table in the middle of the area.
We talked for a while then started watching for Mrs. B, she always
walked by around the upper railing and we waved to her each time
yelling " Mrs. B! " we think it's funny and think she likes it even if
she makes it seem like she's annoyed but she smiles each time.

" We got bout 10 minutes to eat we better hurry " Kia said about to
scarf down food.
" I don't get why Kristine thinks I'm spreading rumors about her " I
sighed chewing slowly.
" I really don't know either " Hailey patted my back.
I gave her a funny look.
" Ok I'm gonna break the awkwardness and start a new conversation "
Nikki looked up at us.
" Can anyone else not believe that Ms. Payton is pregnant like Mrs. B?" Nikki sounded surprised.
" I guess I can't really believe it either! " I agreed.
" It's weird since she's not married " Chloe gave the weird look back.
" I know right I wonder who the dad is " Kia smiled knowing that was
awkward for all of us.
" Megan are u alright? " Kia asked Megan who was oddly quiet.
" Yeah " Megan spoke up " I'm fine just getting a odd stomachache "
She looked back down on her food.
" Well when u eat school food u prob got food poisoning " Nikki laughed.
We all laughed too even Megan.
" Oh shoot it's almost time for the bell to ring " Chloe hit her head against the table.
We all groaned.
Suddenly, totally without warning, a splash of water fell down by us
through the roof window.
We all screamed.
" What the heck?!!! " Jane yelled.
" That scared the beep out of me " Kendra laughed.
Just as we settled down the lunch lady decided to move us, and the bell rang.
As we pushed through the crowd and doors to the window area before the
7th grade commons, everyone stopped.
" Whoa " the whole crowd cooed.
All u could see out of the windows was black dark sky with rain and
raging wind whipping everywhere in different directions.
Teachers kept us moving though to the commons.
All of our shoes were soaked as the pouring rain started to flood between the doors, water was ankle deep.
Even if the storm was bad we continued to 4th hour for now.
We waved goodbye as half of us went to English and the other half went
to science.
I went to science, all of us clinging to each other, wondering what
would happen next.
