Survive the Storm

Mrs. Hans wrapped the second baby in the other soft half of the jacket.
Ms. Payton awoke with a startled.
She was fine, thank god just lost some blood.
They cleaned Ms. Payton off and then wrapped her up a bit to warm up.
The labor was short, so she should be fine Mrs. Hans had told us.
Now we just had to worry about Mrs. B going into labor but so far she
was acting normal so it should be ok.
We tied a jacket around Ms. Payton shoulder to waist, to keep the
babies in as a carrier.
The first baby was a girl and the second was a boy.
She had a daughter and son.

" Here we'll just put the babies across like this " Mrs. Hans helped
Ms. Payton tied the babies in the carrier.
Then they helped Ms. Payton up.
" Girls! " Mrs. Hans shouted down the hallway.
" Kia and Ella go get the others please " Mrs. Hans asked.
We ran down the hall.
Hailey, Kendra, Jane, and Chloe shot up.
" Did she have twins? " Emma asked standing up too with Megan limping by her.
" Yes a girl and a boy " I smiled.
" C'mon " I waved to the others as we ran back.
Ms. Payton struggled to walk right away.
I think she was hurt bad, we had to stay where we were.
" We could get her to my 9th grade classroom " Mrs. B suggested.
" But then we'd have to go up the steps then up more to get to the
higher hallways where the mathematics pod is " Mrs. Hans picked out.
" The elevator! " Emma suggested.
" I guess we could try that " Mrs. Hans agreed.
Kia, Hailey, and I helped Ms. Payton up off the ground again.
" Do u want us to hold the babies? " Mrs. B asked " It would keep them
warmer maybe "
Ms. Payton was so loopy and weak, she just nodded, I assumed she
probably didn't even know she had the babies.
Mrs. B lifted the baby boy out of the homemade carrier.
She handed the boy to Chloe, she quickly wrapped him in the jacket again.
Then Mrs. B gave the girl to me, wrapping her up quickly too.
Jane stood by Ms. Payton's left side, Mrs. Hans by her right, and Emma
by her back.
Kia and Kendra helped Megan walk along, while Mrs. B calmly walked
behind Chloe and I with the babies.
Hailey walked slowly behind Mrs, B, by the girls helping Megan.
We all crowded into the elevator.
As soon as we got to the upper hallway, we carefully walked pasted the
spot where there was no railing now, and got to Mrs. B's 9th grade
room.
Mrs. B quickly unlocked the door, and all of us rushed in so we could
keep water out of the room.
She shut the door again quickly, and we all sighed so relieved that
there wasn't water in the room.
Emma laid a big jacket on the floor, and helped Kia, Hailey, and Mrs.
Hans lay Ms. Payton down.
Jane and Kendra helped lay Megan down by Ms, Payton too.
Mrs. B sat down at her desk and started crying.
" Hey it's ok " Mrs. Hans went over to Mrs. B and knelt down by her desk.
Mrs. B sniffed and wiped away her tears, " You know I just don't
understand why this happened to us? " She cried.
Mrs. B picked up her wedding picture " I just wanna see Eric again " She sobbed.
She clutched the picture again her chest, " And what about our baby? Will I ever meet my son or daughter? You know it's our first child "
Mrs. B looked down on her huge belly.
" You will and you will see Eric again, is he your husband? " Mrs.
Hans assured her.
" Yes and I love him so much " mrs. B wiped her tears again.
" I bet he loves you so much too " rubbed Mrs. B's back.'" And you'll see him again I promise "
" What should we do with the babies? " I asked Mrs. Hans.
" Honestly I don't know, um Ms. Payton is so out of it, I'm pretty
sure she doesn't even know that she gave birth " she replied.
It was almost night again so we decided to again get some sleep.
Mrs. B made a bed for the babies with desks and jackets.
Kendra, Hailey, Emma, Megan, and the boys laid on one side of the room
sleeping already and Kia, Jane, Chloe, me, and the 2 teachers stayed
awake with the babies, and Ms. Payton.

I woke up crying.
It was midnight.
I was crying because my dream wasn't real, we were free and this never happened.
Mrs. B must've woken up when she heard me sobbing, because Mrs. B crawled over to me to calm me down.
" Ella honey Ella it's ok what's wrong? " She asked concerned.
" I had had a dream and I wish it was real " I cried.
She pressed me against her figure, brushing her hands through my hair.
I wrapped my arms around her and she held me tight.
The baby's weight pressing into me, pushing me from leaning completely
against her.
My tears soaked into the shoulder of her sweatshirt.
" Shhh it's ok it's ok " She whispered to me.
Right there and then u knew I was safe in her arms.
So she laid down beside me, and we feel asleep.

Food.
Day 4.
We ate last on day 2.
All the food was down in the fridges, maybe we could find our way
there even it was in the dark.
Still all we could see outside was purple and green sky with rain and
hail flooding all over with thunder crashes and shaking the school
with bright lightening that lite the room every once and a while.
" I'll got down with a couple kids " Mrs. B suggested.
Hailey, Kendra, Emma, Megan, Mrs. Hans, and the boys decided they
would stay with Ms. Payton and the babies.
The babies were clean, healthy and warm for now, so it was a big need
for people to stay with them and Ms, Payton.
Kia, Chloe, Jane, Mrs. B, and I were gonna go look for food.
As we started walking along the hallway, Mrs. B asked " Did anyone
bring their phone? "
" Of course why? " I asked.
" 2 reasons, we could really use a flashlight and do u hear that? "
She asked in a reply.
" I have a flashlight phone " Chloe said and pulled out her phone
shining it so we could see each other.
" Hear what? " Jane looked back at Mrs. B.
" That ringing, maybe one of our phones are ringing? " She listened again.
" There's a phone down there on the floor! " I pointed out, spotting the phone.
" Whose phone is that? " Kia asked.
" I don't know " I leaned down by the phone trying to make out the color of it.
" I think it's a blue iPhone, how is it getting service? " I asked
knowing none of us could get service when we couldn't.
" How could it have service? If we can't how can it? " Chloe scratched her head.
Suddenly the railing above us fell, hitting me and Chloe.
Mrs. B, Jane, and Kia freaked and ran to us as I lost consciousness.

Blood slipped across my fingers as I dragged then across my head.
I looked around, I was on the floor of the main level, multipurpose area.
Looking out I realized Mrs. B was right next to me, and Chloe was
leaning against the chairs with Kia and Jane sitting between us.
I looked at Mrs. B, and for the first time I really got a good look at her.
She was a very pretty young lady, she wore a black hat with a flower
on it, a black zip up sweatshirt, and her long blondish brown hair
laid as far down as her elbows, ripped now stained jeans covered the
blood coming through the right knee of the jeans.
Her sweatshirt looked so cute with her baby bump that fit perfectly
under the sweatshirt, it completed her pretty smiled that looked down on me.
" Oh thank god your ok, I can't lose you guys " She put her hand to my forehead.
" I'm fine, my head just really hurts " I tried to get up but
staggered and fell back down.
Something was seriously wrong, my head was bleeding and I was having
trouble walking and focusing, well a railing did fall on me.

As we started down the steps again, trying to make it to the kitchen,
I lost my footing and slipped, Mrs. B quickly grabbed my arm.
My head was getting really off on some stuff.
Just as Mrs. B let go of my arm I said " Oo I love your nails! " I
laughed " They're so cute, manicure? " I asked looking at her black
nails with pumpkins on them for Halloween.
" Yeah I love them too! " She looked at her own nails.
It wasn't the only thing we had in common, both of us wore those
laceless, slip on tennis with patterns as the design, we both loved them.
" Hello? Girly girls! Not the time to talk about that " Kia snapped us
out of that conversation.
" Sorry I was trying to get us a little more you know " Smiley " " I laughed.
" It's ok, let's just not get super off topic " Kia laughed.
" Agreed " Mrs. B and I said at the same time.
" Ouch what is this? " Chloe yelped.
" What? " Jane asked.
Just then Chloe screamed " Oh my god!!! It's blood! " Chloe fell
backwards, just in time for Jane to catch her.
