It's Time to Rock the Dragon

Chapter twenty one

About half a minute later, after the sky had turned bright again, everybody returned clutching onto each other as Goku teleported them back.

“What happened?” Videl asked, the only one brave enough to ask.

“We were too late.” Gohan sighed, falling to his knees.

“What the hell is wrong with you guys? It’s the Red Ribbon Army, probably your easiest enemies ever! How could you let them make a wish?” Bulma asked loudly, sounding annoyed.

“They knew exactly how the dragon balls worked and were able to make the wish straight away before we could even get there.” Piccolo stated.

“Their wish though…was not as bad as we expected. Not all hope is lost, but we must act quickly.” Goku stated.

“What was the wish, anyway?” Chi Chi asked curiously.

“Colonel Silver, General Copper and General White were still alive, although very old. Colonel Silver, being in the best health and wanting to prove his worth to the army was the one who made the two wishes. To begin with, he wished that every Red Ribbon army member was alive again.” Goku explained.

“That’s to be expected, I guess.” Marik stated.

“The second wish was to restore every member back to their prime, so they’d be more useful to the army.” Goku stated.

“Hey! That’s not too bad…like we knew they’d be a threat, yeah? They didn’t wish anything to do with the millennium items, that is a good sign. Everybody keeps saying Goku defeated the army alone as a boy, they’d be exactly the same now, so with all of us combined we should be okay.” I said loudly to everybody.

“While that may be true, we still need to approach with extreme caution. They’ve obviously learned from their previous mistakes and are likely to be more cunning. They’ll be a lot more careful this time around, and think strategically.” Piccolo stated.

“Well we’ll just be careful, cunning and strategic back, right guys?” Joey asked around, pumping his fist into the air.

“I like this one.” Goku grinned, pointing to Joey.

“Trust me, you guys have a lot in common. Hopefully you’ll find out under better circumstances soon.” I smiled.

“Everybody, we must now plan how to defeat the Red Ribbon Army to protect the Millennium Items and save the world from that evil organisation.” Popo intervened, albeit in a kind manner.

“I say we split up. They’re an army. They will have heaps of groups for us, and it’s more strategic to defuse the situation from all angles then all focus our attention on one at a time. We’re also more likely to save time this way.” Videl stated, giving her input.

“Videl is right. Delegating is our best course of action, it’ll save us time and let us group into skills so we can all help to the best of our abilities.” Gohan agreed.

“What does the duel monsters crew think?” I smirked, addressing Yugi, Joey, Tristan, Tea, Marik and Ishizu.

“We may be spending time apart, but in our hearts we are all together.” Tea stated.

“Yeah! Like the time Tea marked our hands with the marker. We may not have all been in the same place, but we were in spirit.” Yugi joined on.

“Well I’m fine with splitting up.” Marik shrugged, almost in an effort to differentiate himself from Tea’s friendship analogy.

“Ooooh I can play duel monsters but I can’t fight! Does that mean I’m in the duel monsters crew? Please tell me I’m in the duel monsters crew?” Jess asked sounding hopeful.

“Congratulations, you’re in the duel monsters crew.” I said to Jess, putting my hand on her shoulder for added effect.

She then let out a loud squeal, and I moved my hand away quickly.

“I don’t need a team, I could take down the entire army myself.” Vegeta snarled.

“Well too bad mister! Who’s the one who has the brains, technology and beauty if needed to find out where every Red Ribbon base is? Me. So you can do as I say which is work as a team, or not do anything at all. Unless you want to scour the earth looking for something you don’t know what to find, be my guest.” Bulma shouted at Vegeta, marching up to him and poking him in the chest.

When I went to Capsule Corp for the gathering of all of Gohan’s family friends I had seen Chi Chi yell at Goku in the same way. Goku was a good guy and it seemed like he truly loved Chi Chi, so he always did as she said without question.

I thought the same of Vegeta. I was well, half right.

“Alright woman. But let me tell you fools that I could take that army down single handed and you’re wasting more time not letting me do so.” Vegeta bitterly bit back.

I had to giggle at the sight. He only agreed because he wanted to go on this quest, not because he loved Bulma the same way that Goku loved Chi Chi. He was still a tough guy though, and obviously hated being bossed around and had no choice.

“Alright. Does everybody agree to this mission?” Mr. Popo asked us all.

“I’m not going. I’d rather stay back with my babies Gohan and Goten, and I’d be happy to look after Trunks and Maron.” Chi Chi stated, a loud groan coming from Goten and Trunks’ lips.

“Mum! I’m more than capable of handling this you know!” Gohan protested.

“Woman, you will not be looking after my son. He will easily be able to help fight this army, the Saiyan blood running through his veins will defeat any ordinary human weakling. Your nanny services are not required.” Vegeta said to Chi Chi, and she saw red and began to RAGE.

Mr. Popo spoke up, drowning out their argument.

“Our group consists of Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, Tien and Chiaotzu, Yamcha, Goten, Trunks, Vegeta, Bulma, Videl, Launch, Charlotte, Jess, Marik, Ishizu, Yugi, Tea, Joey, Tristan and Seto Kaiba.” Mr. Popo started.

Wow, that’s a mouthful.

“What about Yajirobe? Why isn’t he here?” Krillin asked, cocking up an eyebrow.

“He failed to show up.” Dende sternly replied.

A lot of sniggers and mutters were heard throughout the Z Warriors group.

“With all of the people combined, we have twenty two people ready to lend their resources to our cause. It’s estimated there are four Red Ribbon army bases. This means that approximately five people will be allocated to each base.” Mr. Popo stated.

“Actually, if you divide twenty two by four, you get five point five.” Gohan interjected.

“Well yes, you’re right. But we’ll allocate an extra person to two bases we believe may be larger. The best way to allocate teams though will be randomly generated, basically we will be literally pulling names out of a hat.” Mr. Popo said.

With a poof a hat appeared into his hand.

“This hat contains tickets with all of your names on it. I will draw out six names for the first two groups, and five for the other two. These will be your teams for this mission, and we will allocate each group to a base as soon as we get more information from Bulma and Capsule Corp.” Mr. Popo said, making eye contact with Bulma who gave a swift nod.

Here goes nothing…
