Transcontinental Overload

Maymay.

May couldn’t help but feel dumbfounded when she learnt that she’d be sitting next to Harry during the performance, she couldn’t help but feel slightly envious towards Noémie for getting to sit with Zayn but she put her childish feelings aside knowing that she couldn’t have him all the time, she concluded as she followed after Harry.

He chatted animatedly and May responded appropriately but she couldn’t help but think about the show they were seeing, in high school May had taken a drama course and in her last year they had studied Shakespearean plays. May had learnt a lot and she had come to love the works of Shakespeare, so she couldn’t help but feel giddy about seeing Twelfth Night.

The performance was amazing, she had seen people act but the cast that performed were a cut above what she’d seen. When the show finished she stood to her feet with the rest of the crowd and applauded, nudging Harry to do the same when she saw that he was still sitting down with a look of boredom and confusion written across his face.

“Huh, it’s over.” He noted, sighing in relief, making May giggle in response as they exited and went looking for the group. Once they spotted everyone May dashed over and looped her arm with Eliska, she had gotten to know the girl better after they had been on the same cable car with her a few days ago.

“Eliska,” May whined, pouting childishly, “Harry wouldn’t be quiet through the whole performance, he’s a meanie.” She finished, sticking her tongue out at the boy being mentioned, as he went to defend himself.

“It’s not my fault it was boring and I didn’t understand a thing they were saying.” He stated nonchalantly.

“Maymay, ignore him.” Eliska spoke up, before turning to Harry, “Harry, shush.” She stated. May let go of Eliska as the girl walked toward the cabs and turned back, giving Harry a triumphant smile as he rolled his eyes playfully at her.

By the time everyone was back home May was exhausted and after being told they needed to get up early the next morning she bid everyone a good night and dragged herself away to get ready for bed, having a shower then climbing into the bed she had claimed.

The next morning May couldn’t help but feel excited, they were all going to the flea markets in Grenoble. May had no idea where Grenoble was but she loved flea markets.

“How do you have so much energy this early in the morning?” Zayn yawned as they hopped into the same cab together.

“Good morning to you too, Zayn!” She stated, grinning. “I don’t know if you know this but some people are able to function at this time in the morning.” She teased him.

Zayn gave a fake gasp and feigned ignorance, “people can function before ten in the morning?!” He scrunched up his nose and pulled a face, making her laugh in response to his actions, she shook her head at the boy beside her. May would have never guessed that she’d end up becoming comfortable with people she had never met prior to this trip but she was glad.

The cab ride seemed rather short but only because May had been too busy talking to Zayn to realize the time going by, she glanced out of the window of the cab and looked at their surrounding with interest as she pulled open her door and they step out of the cab. They regroup quickly and move toward the flea market.

May couldn’t contain her excitement and tried to make a dash for some stalls that interested her when a hand wraps itself around her wrist and she finds Eliska tugging her back.

“You have to be careful Maymay, you shouldn’t go wondering off by yourself, how about I come with you?” Eliska offered and May nodded her head.

“Yeah, sure!” May stated.

“I’ll tag along as well,” Zayn piped up then looked at Louis “You coming?”

Louis opened his mouth to say no but realized it’d be mean to reject going with them so he gave a curt nod in reply and went to join the group. After discussing when and where they’d met up they went their separate ways, looking at the different types of things being sold at the flea market.
