Emilia "Em" Jeffery is a Junior at Elder High School. She has friends, a crush, good grades, a good family life, a good job at the local toy store, and… a secret admirer. Just in time for Valentines Day, Butterfingers, a candy bar much to thick to fit through the vents in her locker, start showing up in her locked locker neatly on top of her books. Mean while, the school just hired a new janitor to replace the previous one who retired. The janitor, who goes by Evans, and who is barely nineteen, is a high school drop-out and quite attractive. But, he is to antisocial to attract any girls. He rarely talks to anyone but teachers or lunch ladies. Or Em.
