Teenage Casanova

TAKE MY HAND - PART II

This is not happening. This is not happening. This is not happening.

Unfortunately, it was happening. And who would have thought that if things would have gone completely different only moments before, she wouldn’t have walked in on what she was now seeing.

She could have easily pulled herself from bed, realized that her sister was nowhere to be found, and simply left the hotel without any questions asked. She could have had a great day at the beach or maybe shopping or doing something that would make her feel like maybe this summer wasn’t going to totally suck.

She could have gotten out of the most awkward situation of her life. All she had to do was make the right decision and not go to her sister’s room. But she did…and she regretted it more than anything.

“Kennedy?”

Harry sat on the edge of Hannah’s bed, completely naked, and stared at her like he had just seen a ghost. It was obvious to her that he wasn’t expecting to see her here, of all places. But as he glanced between her and the girl that was asleep in the bed he had just awoke from, he connected the pieces instantly and jumped up, eyes wide.

“This is not what it looks like!”

Kennedy wasn’t exactly sure what to say. She just stared with her mouth agape and her eyes looking like they might pop right out of the sockets, wondering if there was a way to get away from the horrifying situation. All she could do was stare at the naked guy that had slept with her sister only days after he tried to screw her too.

When her eyes fell upon the most obvious part of him, she blushed as bright red as she ever had and turned around quickly before leaving the room and shutting the door shut behind her.

Please tell me I’m dreaming.

Kennedy pinched her arm and sighed when it was, in fact, a reality. She had just had a run in with her sister’s latest one night stand…that just so happened to be the guy that she could not stand with every ounce of her being.

And also the guy that she sort of handcuffed to a bed.

She paced back and forth, her heart racing rapidly. This couldn’t be happening. Out of all the people in this city, Hannah had to go and sleep with the guy who tried to trick her into sleeping with him. Why? Why was this happening? Why couldn’t it just be left alone and she could go the rest of the summer, or really the rest of her life, without ever having to see this stupid boy ever again.

Probably because things never work out how she wants them to.

Kennedy kept her back facing the door as she heard the knob turn and the footsteps following as Harry walked out into the main room. He shut the door quietly behind him and sighed, looking back at her.

“Kennedy, look…”

Kennedy didn’t give him the chance to say anything as she spun around quickly, grabbed him by his shirt and pushed him against the wall.

“Did you sleep with my sister?”

No Answer.

Kennedy pulled him forward just a bit before pushing him harder against the wall and raising her voice. She was done with the games. “Did you sleep with my sister?!”

Harry sighed, knowing that there was no getting out of this. The pissed off girl in front of him, whom he had pursued not that long ago, was dead set on getting the answer out of him. He managed to grab her hands and detach them from his shirt before gently pushing her away.

“Yeah, I slept with her.”

That was all she needed before she let him go and shook her head furiously. “Get out,” Kennedy demanded as she pointed straight to the door. “Don’t come back.”

“Now you don’t mean that.”

The look Kennedy held on her face spoke otherwise. She was completely done with this guy coming around and thinking that he can try and manipulate her into spending time with him. And now that he slept with Hannah? There was no way she was giving in.

“I do mean it. Get out of my room,” Kennedy waited for him to move, but he stayed put, obviously not wanting to leave. “Harry, get out.”

“I’m not leaving. Not until you hear me out,” he grabbed her wrists when she tried to forcefully push him out and stopped her from moving. “Come on, just talk to me.”

“You just slept with my sister!” Kennedy yelled, but was soon stopped when he placed his hand over her mouth.

“Do you want that same sister to wake up and hear us talking?”

She was furious at this point and pushed him away, freeing herself from his grasp. “Why should I care? The only one who should is the one who just slept with her and was about to run before she woke up.”

She had him there. That was exactly the plan until the one girl he never saw coming was suddenly standing in the doorway. Even he was a bit flustered.

“Kennedy.” Harry tried to think of something clever to say, really he tried, but nothing came out and he ended up looking like a complete idiot standing there with his mouth open.

“Goodbye, Harry. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” she chuckled, turning away. “Actually, do let it.”

“I already told you,” he crossed his arms, not moving at all. “I’m not leaving.”

“Should I call my uncle? Because he owns the hotel and I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t mind calling the police when I chuck you off the balcony.”

“Are you sure you’re not just jealous?”

And in that moment, she completely stopped. She stood there, her back turned to him, and was slowly starting to wonder if what he had just said was the truth.

Was she jealous? Was she jealous that Harry had gone and slept with her own sister? She tried to wrap her mind around it, but found nothing in those thoughts that made sense. It wasn’t like she wanted him. If she was being honest with herself, she absolutely despised him more than she had anyone else.

But was she jealous?

Hell no.

She dropped her head, letting it rest in the palm of one of her hands and chuckled lightly. It caught Harry’s attention and he cocked his head sideways just a bit, wondering what she was doing. It wasn’t until she was full on cracking up that he knew that she was mocking his question.

“What? You’re not?”

“You’re not serious, are you?” Kennedy continued to snicker under her breath as she finally turned back to look at him. But the look he held on his face was one that was completely serious. “Oh wow, you’re really serious.”

“Uh,” he continued to stare at her, a bit confused, “duh.”

“Why in the world would I be jealous of you and Hannah? If you don’t quite remember, I had the chance to sleep with you and instead I left you handcuffed to a bed.”

“Oh, I remember that quite clearly, thank you,” he rolled his eyes, not too fond of the memory from his weakest moment. “But that doesn’t mean you’re not jealous of me sleeping with your sister.”

“You’re completely insane if you actually believe that for a second.”

But Harry wasn’t buying it. He took a step forward and smirked widely, narrowing his eyes at her. “I think you are.”

“I’m not.”

“Don’t hide it. It’s okay if you’re jealous,” he chuckled, getting closer as she continued to take a few steps back. “I’m pretty great so it’s understandable.”

“You’re not great. You’re just looking for an easy fuck.”

“Are you calling your sister easy?” Harry couldn’t help but smile.

“I’m not denying it.”

Harry threw his head back slightly and cackled, very obviously amused with the conversation they were having. She was so amusing and he couldn’t get enough of her for some reason.

“You’re something else Kennedy–” he paused for a moment, racking his brain until he came to a realization, “–You know, I don’t think I actually caught your last name.”

“Probably because I didn’t give it, smarty,” she rolled her eyes, “and I’m definitely not giving it to you.”

She hadn’t even realized that she was continuing to walk backwards as he moved towards her until her back hit the wall and his hands found their way on each side of her head. He stared down at her, that stupid smirk plastered on his face and those damned green eyes burning into her.

She suddenly felt her stomach drop. Why was she so nervous? It was like those same nerves from when she first met him were resurfacing and she was back to being that clueless girl that had no idea what she was about to get herself into with this guy.

It was like all those horrible things that she had heard about him and that he had done to her were no longer a factor and the only thing that mattered was the fact that she was standing here with a very attractive guy.

“You sure you don’t want to tell me?” Harry’s breath hit her face and momentarily stunned her. She blinked a few times, trying to come back from it, but found herself unable to.

Why was he staring at her like that? And why was she letting him? She couldn’t. She couldn’t stand there and let this guy mess with her mind again. She had to back off and get away as soon as possible.

But as she was trying to figure out how to move away, she found a pair of lips suddenly pushed against hers.

He was kissing her.

He was actually kissing her.

To say she was shocked was an understatement; she was downright stunned. She tried to wrap her brain around the fact that he had the audacity to actually kiss her, while her heart was consumed in the pleasant feeling of his lips touching hers.

She wasn’t actually liking it, was she?

A part of her would say no, while another would say yes.

Yes? What in the world are you thinking! You don’t like this, Kennedy! You don’t like this!

Except, a little part of her did. She was even shocked herself to admit it, but she had never been kissed like this before. Hell, the last time she had kissed a guy, other than Harry, was almost a year ago and even that was a horrible experience saved for another day.

Harry moved just a tad bit closer as he worked his lips against hers, a little surprised that Kennedy was actually kissing him back. He finally unpinned her from the wall and, instead, placed his hands on her face, cupping her as he deepened the kiss just a bit.

She felt her blood boiling as she slowly let herself slip and give in to what was actually happening. She moved her hands up his chest before slipping them around his neck and knocking the ones that were placed on her face away. He moved them down to her waist, pulling her a bit closer as he ran his tongue across her bottom lip, resulting in a short moan on Kennedy’s side.

Did I just moan? Oh God, this is embarrassing!

She was just about to forget about whether or not this was wrong, but when his hands moved from her waist and down to her butt that was when she stopped kissing. And when he gave her rump a squeeze, she found herself yanking away and pushing him away.

Oh, but that wasn’t the end there. She somehow found herself clenching her hands into a fist and before she could even think straight, she was swinging it right at Harry and knocking right into the corner of his mouth.

She had punched him! She had actually punched him!

She wanted to feel bad, a part of her kind of did, but she couldn’t help but stand her ground with her fists at her side. She was pissed, to say the least. Yeah, okay, she may have kissed him back, but he took it too far.

“Did you just punch me?!” Harry stared at her with wide eyes as he touched the corner of his mouth, finding a bit of blood from his cracked lip. “You punched me!”

“You have some nerve coming in here and kissing me after you slept with my sister!” Kennedy shook her head and walked to the door, opening it wide so he can leave.

“Hey! You kissed me back!” Harry walked towards her, shaking his head like he didn’t believe what had just happened. “You’re not so innocent in this either, thank you very much!”

“Goodbye, Harry,” Kennedy swung her arms in a circle and pointed out the door. Harry just stopped, staring at her like she was unbelievable. She didn’t budge though and continued to glare, pointing to outside the door. “I said goodbye, Harry.”

“I can’t believe this,” he huffed as he finally stomped out of the room and into the hallway, but not before turning back to her. “You can deny it all you want, but you liked kissing me. And you are jealous that I slept with your sister.”

“You’re wrong. I’m not jealous. I’m pissed. I am pissed that you slept with my sister right after trying to fool me.” She gripped the door so tight that she was afraid that she would just break it from how angry she was. “We aren’t toys, Harry. You don’t get to go around and play with our emotions.”

“I don’t care about that. I care about the fact that you like me.”

“Like you?!” Kennedy raised her voice and tried her best not to laugh. “You are far off there, Harry. I can’t stand you and how you treat women like trash.”

“So you’re saying that if I didn’t sleep around so much you would like me?” Harry was a bit intrigued as he stared right at her.

“I’m not saying that at all. But you would be a hell of a lot more tolerable if that were the case.” She started to close the door, being completely done with him. “But I don’t like you Harry. I will never like you and nothing will ever happen between us again.”

As she closed the door more, a foot stuck out in front of it and Harry pushed it open just a bit more. “That actually sounds like a challenge.”

“Whatever, casanova. Take it however you want, but get away from me before I match your fat lip with a black eye.” Kennedy followed him into the hallway, glaring heavily. “I mean it. Stay away from me or I won’t hesitate kicking your ass.”

“So you want to touch my ass?” She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. “Fine, fine. But I’m not giving up on you, hat girl. I’m still not convinced that you’re not jealous and that you don’t like me.”

“Well, be convinced because that is exactly how I feel.”

Harry just chuckled slightly as he walked into his room, shutting the door behind him. She wanted nothing more than to kick it down and kick the crap out of him when she still heard him laughing on the other side.

She was just about ready to turn and head back into her room when something caught her eye. She moved a bit closer and bent down, picking up a cellphone with a slightly cracked screen. Someone must have dropped it, she mused as she looked it over. She shrugged slightly and pocketed it, deciding to give it to the front desk when she went down later.

When she returned back into the room, she collapsed onto the couch and let out the longest groan, absolutely distraught. Did all of that just happen? Did she really walk in on her sister’s one night stand, which she happened to know, trying to leave without an explanation?

She did and she had no idea what she was going to do. How was she supposed to tell Hannah now? She couldn’t just tell her everything and how bad Harry actually was. Hell, she couldn’t admit that she actually knew him.

But maybe she didn’t have to. Maybe a one night stand was all Hannah wanted. Maybe, just maybe, she could get out of this with no need to explain.

“Hey, Kenny,” Hannah walked out into the main room as she fluffed her hair, “did you see a guy with curly hair this morning?”

Shit!

“Curly hair? Um,” all she had to say was no. She just had to lie and say she hadn’t just had a full on conversation with him and she hadn’t just practically made out with him. All she had to do was say no. “I did actually.” Wait, are you insane?!

“Oh really? Did he leave already?” Hannah looked around the room, hoping that maybe he would just pop out and surprise her. Kennedy couldn’t help but feel a little bad, seeing that she looked like she wasn’t just wanting a one night stand.

“He did,” she sighed, fiddling with her fingers. “He…had a business meeting.” She just couldn’t do it. She couldn’t tell her the truth. As much as she knew her sister needed it, she just couldn’t break it to her that her boy toy was a player.

“Well, hopefully I’ll see him soon,” she grinned widely and plopped down onto the couch. “He was really something, Kennedy. Said all the right things and had all the right moves.”

“Yeah, he sure is something,” Kennedy mumbled under her breath, which caused her to receive a raised eyebrow from her sister. “I mean, he sure seemed great.” She rolled her eyes and headed into her room, trying to get out of having to talk about him anymore.

She jumped onto her bed and pushed her face into the pillow, letting out a frustrated scream. Why was this happening to her? Why couldn’t she just forget about the stupid boy? He wasn’t worth her time at all, and yet she was stuck on him.

She just wanted this summer to start going her way. She didn’t want to think about him, she didn’t want to see him, and she definitely didn’t want to kiss him. She wanted him out of her life forever and if that meant throwing punches then, well, maybe that’s what she had to do.

Kennedy rolled over, trying to get comfortable, when she found herself turning back around and pulling out the phone she had found earlier that was making it impossible to get comfy. She looked it over, pressing the home screen and unlocking it with a quick swipe.

She bit her lip, wondering if it was wrong of her to go through someone else’s phone. It wasn’t any of her business, right? She was about to turn it back off when a message quickly popped up on the screen.

Blondie? What kind of name is that? She stared at it for a few more seconds before shrugging it off and clicking the off button. She placed it on her nightstand and rolled back over.

This was it. She was done thinking about Harry. She was done seeing Harry. She was completely done with Harry. There was nothing he could do that could make her be around him anymore. He already slept with her sister, so what now? He had no more excuses to be her presence.

At least…that was what she was hoping for. And, boy, was she hoping so hard that she never had to see his face again.

If you know what’s good for you, Harry, you’ll stay away from me. Wouldn’t want to mess up that pretty little face anymore, right?
