Sinking

Moments couldn't have passed, since her escape. Keeping her breath quiet, she held herself up against the wall. Now was the time to do this, to get out, and never come back.

"Lorem ipsum dolor sit una. Non sum eodem effugiet." She muttered, and immediately her eyes caught ablaze.

"Where is that brat?!" A familiar biting voice yelled down the hallway. She kept still, even stopping her breathing to keep quiet. "How did she even escape? William is going to give me hell for leaving you in charge. Stupid girl making our jobs harder." It said, the girl only smirked but it quickly disappeared.

Shadows of the guards were cast down on the ground beside her, warning her of the increasing danger. She closed her eyes, and sucked in a deep breath. She would have to fight now, there was a definite that they would see her. Quickly summoning her scythe, she jumped out in front of the guards, and opened her eyes, facing them with a blazing gaze...

-

I frowned at the flashback. There was no denying it now, when the two suspects had stepped out. Both of them adorned in red... I closed my eyes underneath my blindfold, and sighed. I have been meeting a lot of people lately. All of them having to do with a certain part of my past that I would happily choose to forget.

"Ahh, though this is a rather new development... a demon playing butler, and Ancient playing maid... isn't it a rather funny tale, Madame Red?" Grell said, and I sucked on my teeth at that term. Which was untrue. I am not an Ancient. "Stop blabbering, and let's get to the point. Madame Red, and you Grell Sutcliffe, are both Jack the Ripper! Young Master has been given orders to stop the both of you..." I said finally, steering the conversation onto the right track.

"Hmm, true... its such a shame though, you even suspected your own aunt." Madame Red said, her voice was quiet, and gentle. Much like the way she talked before with Ciel. "If you had just let it go, we could have played chess again... however..." she said, I stuck out my hand.

Hey, I haven't done this in a while... I smirked at the thought. Having not drawn out my scythe since I have been here, is definitely a record. Though, the number of bare handed kills has increased dramatically. "I'm not going to go easy on you anymore!" She screamed, and I jumped into action.

Like a bolt of lightning, my scythe is in my hands, blocking both Grell's and Madame Red's path to Ciel. Its a long scythe. The blade curved a bit, and the design was made to look as if the blade was actually some sort of torn fabric flowing in the wind. At the top, a rams skull rested. "Oh my, its been a while since I've seen this blade." Grell grunts, his own scythe swinging down to clang against mine. I move to meet his attack and block him efficiently. The chainsaw slumps to his side when he pulled it back and I grinned. "Maybe so. I didn't plan on seeing you again, Grell." I said, to which he smiled.

I glanced around, to see Sebastian stalking behind Grell, and Ciel behind me- oh shit. No he isn't. He isn't behind me at all...

I blinked when Ciel and Madame Red seemed like they were talking, for now, it was okay. I turned my attention back to Grell, who was in mid swing, when suddenly my vision was blocked by a black cald butler. "This really is the first time I've ever seen anything like this, death scythes are really troublesome. And you Miss Annie? Just so happen to fail to let me know you have such a weapon?" Sebastian said, now holding the chainsaws blade between his hands. I merely gaped at the sheer strength he showed. After all, Reapers are by far way stronger...

"This isn't a death scythe... it won't reap souls. But its good for fighting..." I said simply, and gripped the staff tightly in my hands. Ducking underneath Sebastian and slipping in-between his spread legs (don't get any funny ideas there) I turned it upside down, and made sure the bottom of the staff faced upward while the blade didn't touch Sebastian. Slamming it into the face of Grell above me, I smirked when in heard the satisfying crunch of flesh and pavement slapping together.

"Imogen made Phoelli with the same ability, to form a weapon out if thin air, however it stays the same no matter what. My weapon, is a scythe." I said simply, looking back at Sebastian with a slight smile. His eyes seemed to glint with something akin to amusement, when suddenly his expression changed. I blinked then, then frowned. What was wrong?

Then I felt it.

Being stabbed is such a strange feeling. If you are so distracted that you don't feel it at first, then its definitely a surprise. But then once you look down to see a chainsaw sticking out of you... its a bit unnerving when you still don't feel it. But once its drawn out... oh god its the worst pain ever.

A ripping pain from my chest down to my waist, straight through... I see why Jack the Ripper got its name. "That's the end of that..." I heard Grell say. I suddenly felt wobbly on my knees, and fell forward, only to be caught in the strong arms of Sebastian. "Miss Annie!" I closed my eyes for a moment, feeling my insides burn. I open my mouth to speak, but end up gurgling instead. Bubbles of dark blood spurt forth, and onto his sleeve. "S-sor- achh..." I'm interrupted by even more blood this time. "Sorry..." I breath out, and my head falls against his own heaving chest. "Miss Annie... you are terribly wounded." I heard him say. It was almost as if he was talking more to himself than he was to me. "Your blood... its everywhere..." he said. Too true. I can even feel it soak into my dress and corset now that I can see it. The pain... its throbbing. I couldn't see him, but I can imagine him grimacing or probably frowning. I feel an arm wind around my back, and another go behind my knees. "Oh my... and you are still breathing..." He said, and I finally opened my eyes.

"You... ha... you don't actually... achhh!" I coughed loudly, bending over Sebastian's arm to puke up more blood. I leaned back, my head now on his shoulder. "I'm not going to die... that easily... 'Bastion..." I said breathily. He only gave me a slight smile, but his normal red eyes were clouded with something. "Even so, you are in bad shape..." he said, and I let my eyes droop.

I know he said something else after that... but I couldn't really hear...

I was sinking.

I feel feel so bad. I have been updating so slowly ugh and I didn't even realize I left on a little cliff hanger there. Whoops. Well, some explaining as to thus chapter:

I forget which language I used for the little segment there at the beginning of this chapter. As Google translate. I just forgot. Sorry ;^^ but anyways, that flashback is about... say a few minutes before Annie departs to earth? Yes. Grell was there to "watch" her.

As for the scythe... I kind of forgot she had that ability :T yeahhh it wasn't until I got to this arc that I remembered that originally in "Darkened Light" Annie was a demon mixed with a reaper. She's not that in this story, but she still posses some of her old powers I originally wrote her with. She can't collect souls or read a persons cinematic record or anything.

Onto the next chapter!

If I upload it on time that is...
