Pulling Teeth

Showtime!

Okay, Laura was there.
This was going to go down well...
We were on in five seconds.
Maybe i could take Pulling Teeth Of-
Aah Screw It!
We went out and introduced ourselves.
I made my voice sound seriously high pitched and started singing 'Road To Acceptance'.

"I always waste my time just wondering
What the next man thinks of me
I'll never do exactly what I want
And I'll sculpt my life for your acceptance!" I sung.

We finished the song, and move onto the next song.

"She...
She screams in silence
A sullen riot penetrating through her mind
Wai-ting for a sign
To smash the silence with the brick of self-control" I sung.

Then came the dreaded 'Pulling Teeth'.
We tried to give us more time to not sing the song.
"So.. uh... there's a funny story about the bass riff to one of our songs" Mike tries, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.
"Just do the next song!" One boy shouted out.

I gulped and started playing the guitar riff.
Mike started on the bass riff, and Tre started drumming.

"I'm all busted up
Broken bones and nasty cuts
Accidents will happen
But this time I can't get up
She comes to check on me
Making sure I'm on my knees
After all she's the one
Who put me in this state

Is she ultra-violent?
Is she disturbed?
I better tell her that I love her
Before she does it all over again
Oh god, she's killing me!!!

For now I'll lie around
hell, that's all I can really do
She takes good care of me
Just keep saying my love is true

Is she ultra-violent?
Is she disturbed?
I better tell her that I love her
Before she does it all over again
Oh god, she's killing me!!!

Looking out my window for
Someone that's passing by
No one knows I'm locked in here
All I do is cry

For now I'll lie around
hell, that's all I can really do
She takes good care of me
Just keep saying my love is true" I sung, nervously.

When the song finished, Laura gave me a look to say 'What the hell? I am going to murder you in your sleep'
I felt a few tears well up in my eyes, but rested my hand on my them to get them out.

We finished the setlist, and rushed backstage.
