That’s when he got the call.
The call that changed his life.

He hurried out of bed , almost falling out and scaring Pinkly.
He managed to dress in a rush , grabbed the keys to his Ford Ranger and sped off to the hospital.
His heart beating rapidly , his face scared.
He reached the hospital , he asked the nurse where her room was. After proving he was family , she gave him details and watched him go.
She felt sorry for the distressed man. She heard what happened.
His love was in a car accident , and maybe.... just maybe it was all his fault.

“Hallo , Brian” a voice he doesn’t recognize called out from behind him. He jumped from his position to look at the owner of the voice.
“Geez , you scared the crap out of me” he exclaimed , “who are you?”
“I’m Connie. I’m here to help you”
“With what exactly?” Brian asked , his voice confused.
“With her” she pointed to the fragile body laying on the bed Brian sat next to. She eyed the hand entertwined with the broken girl.
“Now you suddenly love her?”
Brian swallowed.
