It Can Only Get Better

all's well again

*2 hours later*
Lisa walked into the room, and I looked up at her, she smiled at me,
"Everything went great. They're just closing up and Sophie will be moved into recovery soon." She smiled. I ran over and hugged her,
"Thank you," I said into her shoulder,
"Thank you, for looking after Sophie," I said to her,
"It's okay Mike, she gets the best care every time she's here." She smiled and winked,
"I'll come down and take you to see her as soon as they've moved her." She smiled and left the room again.

Everyone was so happy, this was great news, and hopefully she'll be out of hospital soon, I'm really beginning to dislike this place, apart from one certain person.

"How you doin' Joey?" I asked turning around to face him, he nodded,
"Yeah, I'm great...now." He smiled, I put my arm around him and hugged him.

*Two days later*
*Sophie's pov*
"So, you all set to go home?" Lisa asked as she took my temperature, I smiled and nodded,
"I may as well have my own room here, the many times I'm in." I smiled at her again, she giggled a little,
"Oh, Dr. Longhart said he'll be down in a bit to see you." She smiled,
"He said that he wanted to come down and see if it was true that you were in again." she giggled and left the room.

...

"So, it is true." Jeff said from the door as I finished putting my stuff in my bag. I smiled and walked over and hugged him,
"Yup, it's true." I smiled,
"You back to pick my brains a little more?" I smiled at him, and he laughed,
"No, just down for a visit. The hair's growing back nicely." He said, I nodded,
"Yeah, a few more weeks and I might actually be able to spike it up like Billie's, you know, just to annoy Joey." I smiled, he laughed a little.

"Soph, you ready to...oh, hello Jeff," Mike said, walking into the room,
"Oh, hi Mr. Dirnt," Jeff said shyly, Mike laughed,
"Look, Jeff, you saved my kids live, you can call me Mike." He smiled as Jeff's face turned red, and he nodded,
"Okay, I won't keep you, I only came down to say hello to Sophie, I gotta go 'because I'm due in surgery in ten. Bye Sophie." He said, hugging me,
"Bye mister, I mean Mike," he said, shaking Mike's hand and walking out of the room.

Dad looked at me and I shrugged.
"So, can we leave, or do I have to live here?" I smiled, Mike shook his head smiling,
"Well, it would be much handier, but no, we can leave." He smiled. I lifted my bag, but dropped it immediately and gripped my stomach,
"What the fuck, are you okay Sophie?" he asked really worried, I straightened up,
"Yeah, fine. Let's go." I smiled weakly at him. He stopped me,
"No, Soph, tell me what's wrong." I looked up at him,
"If you must know, I started my period yesterday, and the cramps are really bad this time, and having your tummy ripped open, appendix pulled out and then stitched up again doesn't help." I smiled at him and nodded,
"Yeah, not something you really want to talk about with your dad, eh?" I smiled as he blushed a little, and we left.

"So, where do you want to go then?" Mike asked as we pulled away from the hospital, I looked at him,
"Can I go to school?" I asked him, he looked at me,
"Why in hell do you want to go to school? You just got out of hospital, when I was your age I tried to get as many sick days as I could." He smiled,
"Well, I'll just be bored at home." I replied, he smiled,
"Okay, you can go to school, or, come to the studio with me." He said, I looked up at him,
"Okay then, I'll go to the studio with you." I said, smiling.
