From Eden.

vingt.

“Delilah!” I jumped at hearing my name so unexpectedly. I had turned my hand on the doorknob a bit, intending to walk back in to see Zacky, until I heard someone call me. I looked in the direction of the voice, and my brows furrowed as I couldn’t see anyone in the space that the hallway revealed the living room.

“Wh-what?” I called back, not surprised at how my voice cracked when I answered. The thought of walking in on Zacky pleasuring himself had me practically hyperventilating. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks as I thought about what I wanted to do to him.

“Crazy chick’s here!” Jimmy exclaimed. My eyes widened at his words registered in my brain. I really hoped Kaelah wasn’t sitting in the same room as him, or else there would be major bloodshed due to Jimmy’s inability to sometimes think before he spoke. “She’s waiting!” I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and slightly smile at how Jimmy always seemed to sing when he was speaking.

I had to see if Kaelah was in the same room, although I didn’t want to. I looked at the door that led into mine and Zacky’s room, and sighed. Maybe one day, I thought to myself. I walked into the living room to see all of the guys sprawled out on the couches or the floor, but no Kaelah. I held in a sigh of relief. Good, Jimmy didn’t basically kill himself. Once the guys realized I was in the room, they all smirked at me. I knew what they were thinking, which only caused my cheeks to burn.

“She’s outside.” Matt nodded his head towards the front door. Which didn’t make any sense. Kaelah could have easily came into the house without protest from anyone. “I think she’s getting impatient, might want to put on something decent.” Matt chuckled, as the feeling of discomfort overtook me as his eyes traveled down my body.

I shuddered and made my way back down the hall to mine and Zacky’s room. I knocked on the door, waiting for a confirmation that Zacky still wasn’t busy. I heard movement on the other side of the door, followed by Zacky opening the door. He looked worn out, and I had a pretty guess as to why. I opened my mouth to speak but the words didn’t have the chance to part my lips before Zacky grabbed my wrist and pulled me into our room, shutting the door behind me.

I shot Zacky a look of confusion as he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him. His lips crashed into mine, catching me off guard. Zacky had let the beast inside of him out, and I was his prey. I wrapped my arms around him as his tongue fought for dominance over mine. I tangled my fingers in his hair, my heart feeling like it would explode out of my chest. My brows furrowed, thinking I did something wrong as Zacky pulled away. He pushed me on the bed, the thought leaving my mind almost instantaneously. He smirked before attaching his lips back to mine, our tongues exploring each other’s mouths. It felt wonderful to be able to do this and not feel like we were doing it behind someone’s back. A shiver went throughout my entire body as Zacky’s lips moved down on my neck.

“Hey! You two fuckers! Hurry up!” Matt yelled, banging his fist on the door. “She’s getting angry!” Zacky shot a glare towards the door. “Zacky, get your ass out here!” I could tell that not only Kaelah, but the guys were starting to get irritated by how much time Zacky and I were taking up to get ready.

Zacky’s eyes had a look of pure hatred in them. I didn’t want him to kill Matt, not yet anyways. I placed my hand on his cheek, forcing him to look away from the door and at me. His sparkling green eyes softened, the look of anger faded into a look of happiness.

“Go on.” I urged him, nodding my heads toward the door. Zacky sighed, knowing that I meant it, as much as I hated it. He sighed, pressed his lips against mine in a quick kiss before getting off me. He opened the door to a very irritated-looking Matt. He grabbed Zacky by the arm, and practically dragged him out of the room, closing the door to give me the privacy I needed. I couldn’t help but giggle at the sound of the guys yelling at Zacky, telling him not to knock me up. I walked over to my dresser, pulling open a drawer and looking at my folded clothes. I stood there for a few minutes, staring at the various shirts and jeans that were presented to me. I looked at my mirror that was apart of the door that led into my closet, and jumped about five feet in the air at the sight of a dark figure reflecting in my mirror.

I quickly turned around to see Kaelah sitting Indian-style on my bed, picking at her fingernails. She looked up and gave me that sweet, fake smile she always seemed to have when she was around me. “Hi.” She said quietly, although I could hear her perfectly.

I stared at her with a confused expression plastered across my face, trying to figure out where she came from. I didn’t hear her walk in, nor did I hear anyone tell me that they let her in. “W-where did you come from?” I asked, kicking myself mentally for stuttering.

Kaelah nodded head her head towards the door and my eyes widened in horror. Matt had just closed the door not even five minutes ago and now it stood wide open. “I wanted to know what was taking so long.” Kaelah shrugged as I looked at her with confusion and worry plastered across my face. “Those boys don’t pay a lot of attention to anything, do they?” She asked, staring at me with her piercing eyes.

I opened my mouth to speak but failed. My mind was racing with her being in the same room as me. Her nose was wrinkled like she smelled rotten eggs. I knew she couldn’t stand the smell of my blood, and the fact Zacky slept there as well probably wasn’t making her smell the best scent. She was trying her best to tolerate the smell, but she didn’t hide the look of disgust on her face very well.

“Well, I guess I should give you some privacy,” Kaelah said sweetly, hopping off the bed and walking to the door that was still wide open. “Have a good day, Delilah.” Kaelah smiled sweetly at me, giving me a small wave before walking out of the room and closing the door behind her.

I began to shake. I hadn’t told Zacky, or Jaed about the conversation I had telepathically overheard between Kaelah and Vivienne. No one knew, but Kaelah and I about what I had heard, and found out. Being around Kaelah made me sick to my stomach. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up whenever her name was mentioned. And it sucked ass that one of my friends was fucking her.

I quickly grabbed some clothes out of my dresser and put them on in record time. I pulled the rat’s nest that was my hair up into a bun and didn’t bother with makeup. Socks and shoes were on in less than two minutes.

“Finally!” Brain exclaimed once he saw me walk into the living room of our house. Matt muttered something about how long it took girls to get ready for anything. I felt an arm snake around my waist, and smiled when I saw Zacky beside me in the corner of my eye. The panic that Kaelah had set through me was almost instantly calmed by Zacky’s presence and touch.

“Okay lovebirds, let’s get going, I think Kaelah’s going to kill us all if we don’t get a move on.” Johnny chuckled as we all walked out of mine and Brian’s house to go to the mall.

“So you and Zacky are pretty serious about each other, huh?” Kaelah asked, taking her finger and stirring the ice cubes in her drink with it. We were sitting in the food court at the mall. Kaelah had managed to convince Johnny and the guys to leave us be. Zacky didn’t want to, but he knew better than to make a scene about it. As much as I hated being watched like a hawk, part of me really wished Zacky were here.

I shrugged at Kaelah’s question, trying not to be so reactive with my responses. She still scared me. “Well, we do love each other, so.” I answered quietly.

“Wait, is that Zacky Baker’s girlfriend?” the venom was spat into my ears with such hatred it made me physically recoil. I turned my head to see a group of girls close to my age, standing not two feet away from me.

I could feel their stares, and out of the corner of my eye, I could see one girl nodding. I wished I had a drink or some food to distract myself. “Yeah, he left Gena for her.” I held in the urge to roll my eyes. Of course, Gena. I looked at Kaelah, her eyebrow raised as we both heard the girls talk about me as if I were a million miles away.

“But...how?” One girl asked with a hint of disgust in her voice. “What’s so special about her?” I saw a few girls shrug at the question, and I felt the urge to cry.

Don’t cry in front of Kaelah, don’t cry in front of Kaelah. I told myself, biting down on my lip, looking down at my hands.

“At least she’s pretty.” One said. She seemed to have caught on that I could hear everything they were saying. A few murmurs of agreement came from the group, and I could see that they were starting to turn their attention from me, much to my delight, that is, until I heard a voice.

“I bet she’s just a quick fuck to him.”

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. The feeling of rage bubbled up, and was beginning to see red. I gripped the edge of the table so hard, my knuckles began to turn white.

All of my thoughts and insecurities began to go down the invisible drain. I let the rage, the anger, the pain take over me. A burning sensation grew as the starting point of my Imprint began to burn. I turned my neck and my eyes locked with one of the girls, the one who I was sure had been the one who spat those final words. I gathered all of the venom I could find, making sure it was all shot directly towards the girl. Her face, which was originally showing an emotion of nothingness, now showed fear and confusion, and I couldn’t blame her. If looks could kill, the bitch would have been dead by now.

“Delilah, maybe we should go.” Kaelah’s normally calm and sweet voice was now uncertain and shaky. I turned, and her voice matched her facial expression. I thought she could show no other emotion other than that odd fake happiness or no emotion at all.

I turned back to where the group of girls were standing to see that they all had turned their backs to me. The burning sensation went away, and I came back to my senses. A scary thought popped into my head: had it not been for all these people here, and Kaelah talking to me, I might have tried to kill that girl.

“Yeah, let’s go. The trash here fucking stinks.” I said, loud enough to make sure the group of girls had heard me. I stood up, and waited for Kaelah to finish her drink and throw it away. She walked a few paces behind me. Kaelah normally scared the shit out of me, but I think what had just happened scared her this time around. My thoughts found their way back to what happened between that girl and I. That wasn’t normal. That wasn’t me. What was happening to me? I used to be normal, and now everyday I suffered from being taken away from everything I once knew as a way of living. I lived every day in fear of being taken away from those I loved, those I loved being taken away from me, or being killed.

“Wow, you really scared the shit out of that girl.” Kaelah said, interrupting my thoughts. We were on the other side of the mall, still walking through it and passing stores. People stared as we walked by, but that was something I was used to. Kaelah was a gorgeous girl, and it was natural that people were going to stare, whether it be a stare of admiration at her beauty, or a stare of jealously because of it. I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealously. I wished people would look at me like that, but I knew it would never happen.

“Delilah!” before I could turn around to see who had called me, I was literally tackled to the ground by something unbelievable heavy. I let out a grunt from the unexpected attack, and soon found myself on the ground with onlookers staring at me and whoever was on top of me like we were both crazy. I heard my attacker laughing, and I sighed as much as I could under his weight.

“Jimmy!” I strained to get the words out, “get the fuck off me!” I exclaimed, using my arms to push myself up. and to mine and Jimmy’s surprise, brought him right up along with me. Jimmy was too shocked to get off himself, so I did it for him. Jimmy fell off of me as I sat myself up, followed by standing on my feet, looking down at the clearly surprised Jimmy, whose mouth was in an ‘O’ shape.

“What’d you do now Jim?” Matt asked as he walked up to Jimmy, Kaelah, and I. Kaelah was surprisingly quiet.

“I didn’t do anything!” Jimmy said defensively, getting up from the floor. “But dude! Ellie actually pushed my lard ass off her!”

Matt cocked an eyebrow, he looked at me and Jimmy skeptically. “Really, how? Jimmy weighs a fucking ton, even I can’t pick him up.”

I shrugged at Matt’s words, looking down at my feet. “Where’s everyone else?” I asked, quickly changing the subject. I didn’t really want to know myself how I was able to move Jimmy, not when Matt couldn’t even pick him up. I was getting even more freaked out, and my thoughts returned back to the burning sensation.

“Zacky and Johnny are somewhere around here,” Matt shrugged, “not so sure where Brian got off to, but he’s bound to pop up sometime.” He told me, looking around the part of the mall we were in.

I looked at Kaelah, and notice how uncomfortable she looked. It wasn’t that she looked afraid or intimidated. It looked more like she smelled something bad and didn’t want to say. Kaelah looked at me and smiled oddly. Even with Matt and Jimmy around, I still didn’t feel completely safe around her.

“So did you guys do anything?” Matt asked, also noticing how strange Kaelah was acting. Matt didn’t like Kaelah either, but held it in for Johnny’s sake. Even though Matt sometimes made me feel uncomfortable, he was undoubtedly the most responsible one of the group. His Alpha position did really suit him.

“No, not a whole lot.” I answered quickly. I didn’t want Kaelah telling anyone about what happened earlier. “I think we’re good to go.”

Matt nodded, and looked down one part of the mall. “Cool, then let’s go find everyone else so you and your boyfriend can have that alone time you both so desperately need.” He smirked at me. I looked down at my feet, feeling the blood rush to my cheeks.

They weren’t ever going to let me live it down, would they?
