Alexander’s hands were slick with sweat as he got to his feet. He had to distract the group and get back to Raknah.
Grabbing a section of the bush he hid behind he shook it as hard as he could before slowly moving backwards away from it.
“What was that?” A voice spoke.
“Gwon, Xanif go and see what’s out there.” Alexander saw big burly men rise before he ran. The royal found another hiding spot, this time he was closer to Raknah.
“It was nothing Chief, just wind.”
“Is there any wind tonight?” the he asked sarcastically causing the two men to shift uncomfortably and look at the ground.
“No.”
“Perhaps it was a woodland creature,” it was Raknah who spoke this time. “Considering we are in a forest.”
“Or perhaps it was something else…” as soon as the words fell from the Chiefs lips his dark eyes locked on the Prince.
