“Addison…Addison wake up” I opened my eyes sitting up right against the couch, the sunlight poured in from the sunroom off the living room, looking across the living room the couch was empty. Charlotte.
I looked up at my dad who was now dressed along with Suzy who ditched her robe and slippers for cut off shorts and a gray tee shirt she was in the kitchen I smelt pancakes and bacon.
“Your brother will be here soon” He said looking me over to make sure I was ok, I stood up and stretched off the 3 hours of sleep I gained in a half slumped position.
“Hi mommy!” Charlotte said in a high pitch happy voice
“Good morning baby” I said smoothing her bed head down and kissing her forehead as she giggled and colored a hello kitty coloring page
“Why did you let me pass out?” I asked grabbing my cup from the sink filling it with more coffee
“Because you’ve hardly slept and you drove from Mississippi in under two days I believe you needed sleep” Suzy said putting a plate of food in front of me hand on her hip giving me a look that basically said ‘sit down, shut up and eat’
I took a seat next to Charlotte who was too busy coloring in Hello Kitty or Lightning McQueen her mind changed often but she knew what she liked.
“Very pretty C, who is it for?” I asked shoving food in my mouth savoring the flavor of warm cinnamon chocolate chip pancakes. My favorite.
“It’s for grammy Sue and bop-bop” Charlotte said not looking up from her picture
“Mm I see, did you have some breakfast?” I asked nudging her lightly enough for her to look up at me with big wide green eyes
“Uh huh bop-bop made me eggs and grammy made me a pancake I ate it all and some apple juice I had that too. Did you know you make funny noises when you sleep mommy? They sound like this!” She snorted like a pig and laughed when I stuck my tongue out at her
“Didn’t know I snored” I said rolling my eyes “But thanks kid” I ruffled her already messy hair.
“Good morning Kenna” Suzy said I turned around to see my baby sister wasn’t such a baby anymore she was nearly up to my chin her hair was lighter than mine due to Suzy being her mom
“Addison?!” she screeched crossing the kitchen in nearly a second wrapping her arms around my waist squeezing me
“Hey ladybug” I said hugging her back she wasn’t a baby anymore she was nearly a teenager and seemed innocent and un-phased by life which had to be nice during times like this.
“When did you get in to town? How long are you staying? Mom why didn’t you and dad tell me!?” She said the last bit a little mellow dramatic crossing her arms over her chest
“It was a surprise to all over us sweetie, here have some breakfast” Suzy said sliding a plate on the counter, I looked back to Charlotte who was looking at McKenna confused.
“Charlotte this is McKenna” I said pointing at my younger half-sister “She’s your aunt” I said with a small smile McKenna’s face went white as she looked at me and back at Charlotte
“Holy shiii…she looks just like Za-“
“Eat McKenna your brother will be here any minute with the boys and you needed to be dressed before they walk through that door kapeesh?” Dad said coming in with the dogs from the back yard looking at my sister with a stern fatherly look, she huffed and took a seat next to Charlotte, whom was still busy splashing color all over the page.
“Babe were going have to fix your hair and get you in some real clothes then you can come back and color if you want ok?” I waited for her to answer but without missing a beat she set her crayon down and looked from me to McKenna to Suzy
“Come on grammy lets go” she said holding her arms up to be let down off the chair, Suzy picked her up and she started telling her about out old house and how much nicer Grammy’s house was. I laughed as they walked up stairs. Dad came in the kitchen 3 dogs follow in toe mouths open tails wagging, McKenna was sulking over her food and once Suzy and Charlotte where safely upstairs out of ear shot McKenna looked at me
“You look different more. Mature” she said looking me over squinting a little I smiled and looked her over
“So do you what are you now? Like 15? Have a boyfriend?” I asked with a small laugh, her eyes wide she looked grossed out
“EW no, I’m 11 going on 12 in just two short months” she said matter of fact my dad cleared his throat and rolled his eyes
“Lord help me I survived one daughter I can survive another” He whispered
“Oh daddy you did fine” I said batting my eyelashes causing McKenna and my dad to laugh.

“Well this seems like a good ol’ time” I turned around and saw familiar faces looking over me, McKenna and my dad.
“Hiya Brian!” McKenna said all perked up
“Hey sunshine” He said looking at me I was two years younger than him, he was always so protective over me.
“Going to say hi or are you going to stare at me like a total creep” I said crossing my arms looking him over he looked over me for a few more seconds before he walked towards me with his arms opened I was hesitant to hug him but I could feel my father’s gaze burning in to the back of my head
“It’s good to see you Addison” He whispered as he squeezed me a little tighter. I nodded pulling away looking back at McKenna,
“Didn’t mom say she wanted to dressed by the time they got her?” I said looking at her as she gave me a bitchy look, she huffed and stormed upstairs, I sighed and leaned against the counter looking over the rest of the motley crew
“Hi guys” I said giving a small wave, Matt gave me a small smile and came to hug me.
“Oh it’s good to see you!” He said as he wrapped me in his huge bear arms almost lifting me off the ground.
“Its good to see you too Matty” I said Johnny came over and gave me a tight hug breathing a sigh of relief, Zack was the last to approach me he would look at me then at the ground then back at me
“You look good” he said looking me over I nodded looking him over he was in jeans, a black tee shirt he like the rest of the guys looked like shit warmed over, they were trying I’ll give them that much to the outside world one would think they had it held together but to a insider like myself they looked awful Suzy wasn’t lying when she said they were a mess. Zack wrapped his arms around me unexpectedly holding on to me, I could feel his heart racing against his shirt and his breathing changed. He was going to cry.
“Oh look there here! I told you I heard voices” Suzy said clearing the last stairs with Charlotte in tow, Charlotte was dressed in a pair of jeans with a A7X tee shirt
“Come here baby” I said picking her up she was shy around new people she hid her face in my neck, the guys where around the island in the kitchen my heart was racing and my palms got clammy
“Shit” I whispered looking at the floor
“Hey, you got this…you raised this little girl on your own without help you can introduce her to Brian and the guys she’s going to know the truth and so will all of them I’m in your corner sweetie” Suzy said giving me a smile I inhaled a few times and turned around going in to the kitchen where everyone was.
“Guys” I said they all turned around to look at me I walked in the kitchen and set Charlotte down she stood in front of me looking at the floor her dark brown almost black hair was tied up in a neat pony tail
“Guys..this is Charlotte my d-daughter” I said standing with my head up looking Brian in the eyes, dad was looking at Brian too even the guys.
“Charlotte this is your uncle Brian he’s mommys big brother” I said patting her back she looked up at Brian who was standing stunned looking at her.
“H-Hi there Charlotte” He said crouching down to her level she slinked back in to my legs
“Holy shit she looks just like Zack!” Johnny said nearly spitting out a pancake
